Just came back from our Meditarranean cruise on MSC and we have nothing but glowing reviews for the staff friendliness, multilingual, pleasant and helpfulness. The food was fabulous be it at the dining room or the buffet which had fresh pizza all day long and a good spread of fruits, and for those insisting on unhealthy food there was a full Americanized section with burgers, fries, hot dog, etc ...

This was the first time on this cruise line and I absolutely loved it. It was the cleanest ship I have ever been on and being an avid cruiser that says alot. Crew was constantly cleaning everything down to using a toothbrush style brush to clean the metal stair runners. Overall a pleasant trip. Food was very good and room was nice. Unfortunately we traveled at a time of severe unrest in the Middle East. We sailed on the Divina a few weeks ago. The ship is beautiful and huge. We have sailed with Holland Amer, RCL, Celebrity,and NCL but not MSC before. A few things we noticed: People smoke everywhere. Not used to that in North America. Very few english speaking passengers so a very multicultural experience which we quite enjoyed.

We normally cruise with Thomson and I know that is thought to be the budget end of the cruise industry. This time we chose MSC and the new ship Divina, so 4 of us (2 couples) eagerly boarded the ship in Venice. Embarcation was long but reasonably well organised. We were very impressed by our Balcony cabin. Also the whole ship was more glamorous that we were used too so we were very happy.

Overall, the MSC Divina is an enjoyable ship. The ship is simply the most elegant ship we've been on, but service is where MSC seems to be lacking. The ship needs more open deck space, especially at the buffet area. There was never anyplace to sit during breakfast/lunch. I'd never experienced this problem on Carnival and we were on a full ship on the Breeze in the Med last fall, so I'm pretty sure ...
This was our third cruise on MSC. Unfortunately it didn' t go as smoothly as the previous ones. The main reason: The human factor. The attitude towards the passengers is simply too laid back.
