Embarkation for wheelchair needs was chaotic. The person responsible for getting the wheelchair assistance needs to hold up a sign. The ship is beautiful, though safety is an issue when it comes to stairs all over the place on the ship. This is most noticeable in the theater and some lounges. The cabin was well maintained and plenty large enough for the two of us. We never saw our cabin steward when we first arrived and he never introduced himself until the next day. He was prompt in making up the room when we put out the sign. Dining was a disaster. This was my four trip on Divina and a number of things have changed. It was hard to get drinks before, during or after the dinner. The service was slow and the waiter missed or was late in bringing many items during to the table during the meal. He was very rushed, never introduced himself or his assistant waiter, food was lukewarm and not cooked as ordered. We finish our meals in 2 hours or more on most nights. What was an included shrimp cocktail at dinner is now $6.95 if you want one and there is no longer lobster served on the second formal night. The entertainment on the ship was okay. Service was as noted above for dining and cabin. Guest Services was attentive to needs but inconsistent....some guests were dismissed without answers to their questions. I never got off of the ship because I got sick and needed to go to Medical. They were excellent and took care of the problem with IV and medicine. We did not travel with children. I would go on Divina again, but my husband, who doesn't care that much for cruising, would not choose Divina again. The cruise line is working very hard to make this a premier ship and I am sure they will get there. It takes time to get the American way down pat. Read Less

We choose this cruise because 300 people from our community were going. We usually go on 2 cruises a year. Embarkation was good, but disembarkation was a disaster at the Miami port. Ship was clean, but too many small places. There would be a piano bar singer with 1000 people trying to see them. Seldom could you get a pool chair. Everyone wanting the same pool. The nightly entertainment was fantastic. We were disappointed in the food. It was ok, not fantastic as we were lead to believe Yet one excursion did not deliver as advertised. It was the speed boat lobster lunch and day at the beach costing $115 each. We spent 3 hours waiting or being transported on a catamaran; after lunch we got 20 minutes on the beach. When we went to the excursion desk only to finally after 3 visits, to get offer a 20% discount. -- a slam in the face! The other excursion a snorkeling -- the water was cold and murky. At the end, we had to wait 45 minutes for someone on the Divina to let us on the ship. The shops and goods were very expensive. The pool shop were everything was $10 was the busiest place on the ship. Got a terrible hair cut from a new stylist that had been on the ship one month. Hair salon refunded my money. Read Less

The itinerary was of great interest since I hadn't been to four of the ports before. The status match program and price for single travelers also lured me to try this line. The ship is beautiful and the staff was great but the food was not good nor was the dining room service. Lunch at the black crab was like a clown car ride, mass confusion. Dinner in the Villa Rosa arrived over cooked and cold. The diver scallops spedino was one scallop, just bigger than a bay scallop,on a skewer with one shrimp and two pieces of over cooked chewy whitefish and some peppers. HORRIBLE! Since this line attracts many European guests be prepared for aggressive and rude behavior from other passengers. They will be adding another mega ship at the end of next year, but I wouldn't expect much in the way of cuisine. And why do we agree to pay more for specialty restaurants? Food should be good everyday in all venues. My inside cabin was nice and roomy and the attendant was great. And if you love opera, you'll appreciate the numbers thrown in during the variety shows. How it got into a show featuring the music of Queen is a mystery. Embarkation was a nightmare due to customs clearing the terminal of previous passengers. Something to do with DEA and contraband. Beyond the the ships control. Activities and excursions were standard. Many excursions left late and should have been in English but the one I took in Curaçao wound up being half Spanish which was difficult for the guide. Spa was relaxing but missing some basic amenities. Won't return anytime soon ☹️️ Read Less

Went on MSC DIVINA and had following issues: 1. Food: Food is not really good. Sometimes it was very good but most of the time it was disappointing and poor. Especially the Dinner was not what it should be to end a nice day. 2. Service: All the employees love kids. However everybody wanted to touch our little son (1). They touch his hands, his face and even sometimes wanted to kiss him. On a ship with all the germs they should not do this. 3. At Sea: The european behavior to put a towel on a chair in the morning and then leave for Breakfast is horrible. Although the policy is that after 30 min you can remove the towel, nobody does it not even when to complain to the Divina personal. They know that but do nothing. 4. Excursions: A RIP OFF. Do not book on board. Do it on your own. It is cheaper and also fantastic. No worries to miss the ship. Taxi prices are feasable. 5. Friendliness: I am not talking about the Divina Crew. I am talking about the European guest onboard. The lack of friendliness is a bad thing to discover. Think about the manners (French and Italians) and how to treat other people. Especially older ones and Famlies with kids!! All in all an average to poor Cruise to Colombia, Aruba, Curacao, Grand Turk and Bahamas. Good thing was our Stewart. He did an amazing job!!!!!!!! We are regular cruisers on several lines--Royal Caribbean and Costa. We now have tried MSC Divina and it was a great ship--new and the crew was very organized. Ship a bit large with 4000 passengers on board. No smoking policy most everywhere was great. Our cabin a balcony was as nice as on any ship we have been on-maybe bigger, more modern equipment like TV , phones, bathroom etc. The closet could use more space for drawers-or add more drawers and remove pictures in the room. A nice thing about the bathroom was a wrap-around plastic enclosure to contain the shower rather than the annoying curtains on other ship bathrooms. -Noticeable missing were urinals in the mens bathrooms which made for long lines like in the ladies rooms. Also could use more bathrooms near buffet area. -Itinerary was good with a nice selection of ports-Falmouth,Curacao,Aruba,Colon,Cozumel and back. -Lifeboat drill was orderly and done before sailing. -We were very impressed with quick bording and even quicker disenbarkation at Miami--best yet of all lines we have been on. -Food was very Italian--but you could find something for everyone. -Best yet were the shows-best we have seen for a cruise. -Loved the morning wakeup breakfast delivered to our room at no extra charge.
