We sailed on MSC Divina because we got got a bargain and to entice us we were "matched" to the level on NCL/Carnival, we found the ship to be nicely designed, our cabin was comfortable and the amount of amenities and dinning was plentiful, we were hesitant because people's reviews had made it seem like there was too much pasta on the menus, we found the opposite, the food was very tasty and the selections was great, they still need to work out a few kinks, in the black crab restaurant ( where we were assigned ) we had to wait for our coffee to accompany our desserts, but it seems like every cruise line is cutting staff and you don't get quite the prompt service that we expect. The itinerary was wonderful too, going to shore and coming back into the ship was painless and we loved the fact that the ship stayed longer in ports than most cruises we have taken, that was nice surprised. Another pleasant surprise was the entertainment in the theater, we enjoyed all of the shows, they did an amazing job and would certainly would do another MSC Cruise. Read Less

I signed up for a Holistic cruise Feb 15th 2018. I have been on 12 other cruise lines and figured that this ship could not be that bad if 2000 people were attending this special Holistic cruise. Ha, people really need to speak up.MSC sent us a review survey which would not go the the next page so I was unable to complete it and I gave up. So here is my thought on this cruise line and why I will never sail with them again. I was unable to complete the survey as it will not go to the next page when you are in the page "which areas have the most impacted positively and negatively on your MSC cruise experience. When I select next it just goes to the top of the page. As a Canadian I had a lot of difficulty when trying to register, before the cruise departure, for your MSC club and gave up. I believe it's a glitch in the address that prevented me from doing it. I then called and the girl could no help me. So since I can't finish the online survey, here is my opinion. We felt like cattle every time we went to eat. The vegan buffet opened at 7:30 am which is much too late as well as lunch time should opened a 1/2 hour earlier. It was always very crowded around the buffet and it made it hard to walk. People wait in line for one item. Maybe split up the stations so people go to what they want to eat directly without waiting in line and passing in front of food they never had any interest in. The staff at embarkation and disembarkation for the daily stops were very rude, never smiled, never said have a nice day. the same with the staff on the outside of the ship. They need to remember this is a service industry and if you are not happy then go work somewhere else as the cruise customers pay your salary. I've done 12 cruises with 4, 5 & 6 star ships and have never had such poor attitude. I believe had the staff been friendlier my experience, comments and rating would have been better. The buffet staff and were also rude with attitude. Never said please and spoke to you as if you were bothering them. We were told by someone that they were angry at the Holistic cruise crowd and that is why they were rude with us. The occasional staff was nice and friendly but they were few. This is what allot of people talked about. The buffet was ALWAYS running out of utensils, and trays of food and it took too long to replace the tray, often 10 minutes at which point you just say, never mind. It's a beautiful ship, too bad the staff could not be pleasant. I encountered a problem at the Villa Rosa where I went at 7:45 am, expecting to be seated right away. I told the hostess that I was waiting for my party and we would be 4 altogether but I was arriving from the gym earlier and need to sit down since I was getting a very bad headache. She just nodded and made me wait. After a couple of minutes I asked her why other people were being seated and I wasn't, she replied that their party was complete and I had to wait. I explained that I wanted to sit now and she finally asked someone to sit me down. At this point I had to get aggravated again just to get water. REALLY! the food service was also bad but I won't even go there. There were so many instances and I know I won't come back. We went on the Holistic cruise for the lectures so that was great but to just go on a vacation on this cruise line, I can get much better treatment and value and appreciation for my choice on another cruise line. The people who thought it was great had never been on a cruise line or only on this one trip. Many experienced travelers were not impressed. The elevators were slow. As for my husband and I, this is purely a reflection of management. Nikki Read Less

Holistic cruise. My first cruise. I discovered I am not a cruise person. Too many people for my taste. I can only handle Vegas for 2 days and this was like 10 days in Vegas with 2000 fellow vegans. As a solo traveler, I prefer more space. The Holistic program was amazing. Great speakers, yoga, Ship was nice, clean. Food good not great. Ship's personnel could be both very attentive and pleasant, and quite rude. Gilbert, cabin service excellent . I found a great waitress in Villa Rosa and just stuck with her. Before that I found myself avoiding the dining rooms due to slow impersonal service. The European crew were most often cold and harsh. One day I was yelled at 4 times for not following their strict procedures. (Too early for breakfast and social events, etc.) I guess I'm just a troublemaker. Interior cabin was fine. I booked 2 excursions through MSC (St. Thomas, Miami). They were good not great. I booked 2 others through Viator (St. Kitts, Barbados) and they were wild and crazy parties with sail and snorkel. Fun. Did not see much of the islands though. Embarkation was smooth. My bag was lost on the debarkation and the response by MSC for the last 3 three weeks was virtually nonexistent. 1 initial email and no response to my phone calls. Website worthless. Still no word. Definitely left a bad taste. Having said all this, I am considering the Holistic cruise again next year for the program if I can figure how to survive an 11 day cruise. Read Less

I have been on various cruises , Caribbean and Europe.the last one on Msc musica . Three quarters of an hour check in , easy transition, double Bacardi and up to see our balcony rooms . Fantastic , clean , large and spacious. Explore the ship. Watch YouTube videos then double how good it is . The staff, the bars , the entertainment day and night and the food is just fantastic, remember I've been on other cruise lines and the last one in Dubai was good ,but this was brilliant. I can't say the buffet wasn't busy, but still easy to get your food, and if you can't get something you love ,you are not hungry ! The evening meal was just fantastic , great service ,steaks and lobster , the choice just incredible. Hers a tip , choose second sittings , get dolled up,go to the first show at 7pm in the massive theatre for great shows and entertainment , have a drink after listening to a live guitarist or singer , get another drink , then sit and enjoy a fantastic meal, go to another entertainment venue such as the black and white club , fantastic live music , then have a few more drinks !!, then either the nightclub or late night pizza , forest incredible pizza or burgers , or just about anything !!, then bed !!!, the excursions are very expensive , didn't fall for that !, truly , I'm quite a critic, I just couldn't fault the overall experience , Tim Seaton, family of four , from England Read Less

The price was unbeatable as a "last minute". We dined every night with the same people and luckily we loved them all and had some great conversations as well as a lot of fun. Ordering breakfast in the dining room was a crap shoot ... order what you want and get what they give you so be a flexible breakfast eater. The food was OK but not fabulous. The entertainment on the other hand was truly fabulous and every night was like going to an off Broadway event. We tendered once out of 4 stops and I don't tender so that was a plus for me. The balcony room was great....13125 was a super convenient location and the beds were nicely prepared to make you comfortable. The ship itself is HUGE and beautiful. It has literally thousands of mirrors and "Glitz" is the operative word for this ship. They had two formal nights, one white night and one Halloween night (which was an absolute fun night) The ship was all decorated for Halloween and dressing up for the best costume contest is highly encouraged. Not everything was perfect but the imperfections were fairly minor ....it's all in your attitude so go with a good one and have fun !! Read Less

My husband chose the cruise because there were pickleball pro giving strategies and playing with the pro. My husband is an avid pickleball player and loved the classes. The ship is very beautiful but hard to get around. The lounges are confusing to get to. We are so used to RcL and it so different. This ship doesn't enforce hand sanitizer. They have people handing out coupons for spa but should be enforcing hand washing. I always do it but 9 out of 10 don't and thus I got a cold. So my trip was hindered. Couldn't do all I wanted to do. As far as the food first day we had blackened grouper that was terrible. As the week went along food got better. The pizza great in buffet. The salmon and prime rib very good. The steak hit or miss. We went to Eataly steakhouse -specialty restaurant. Not worth the money. They gave you bread in a bag and not hot. I ordered a salad no dressing and asked about it and said to use oil and vinegar on the table. My husband got a cheese plate that was nice. We got surf and turf. The lobster tail 2 bites and steak overcooked at medium rare. I ordered ice cream and told them no whip cream. It came with whip cream. For specialty restaurant definitely not better than dining room. In fact the steak was better in dining room. We ate on acrylic chairs not very comfortable. On the positive side the production shows were very good. They had Michael Jackson and Queen excellent shows. Voices also a very good show as well as Mask. They seem to cater to foreigners rather than Americans. Read Less

I had read about this cruise liner and wanted to experience it for myself. The MSC Divina is truly a beautiful ship and the Atrium is the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Very nice ship to walk around in and experience. The lounges aboard the ship are truly beautiful and the Dinners were excellent. My only complaint is that the boat is so huge and it holds so many people, there tends to be crowds in the mornings and afternoons at the food areas and somewhat hard to find a table at times. Also, the two pools is somewhat small to handle to many people that you really need to wait at times to get in to enjoy it. Overall, the ship is beautiful and definitely worth taking, you will enjoy yourself very much. I would give this Cruise ship a solid B/B+ and would maybe cruise it again. Read Less

I have been on Norwegian's Getaway Haven and the Carnival's Breeze Spa Suite and now Yacht Club Divina. I would caution against MSC. Please let me start by saying I had a good time, and the price is great compared to the Norwegian Haven. I cannot quite put my finger on it ,but they are missing something. The new ship like the seaside are starting this wellness class and they brag about the sport equipment. That's great, But I was on a seven day cruise and not 1 yoga class was held. Because she ( who was obviously not even a yoga instructor more like a body builder) would not do the class unless there was 5 people. For some unknown reason the only class was at 10 am. A time when most people are probably on an excursion or getting ready to go. Why not 7 am like on Carnival. When I was on the Carnival Magic in December they had 2 complimentary classes: a stretch and and ab all before 8 am then a yoga class for 12$. On many days there was just me or me and a another person and the teacher taught the class regardless. I think MSC needs to do their research on yoga and the timing of these classes and availability. So disappointing I was going to book Seaside. But now I am going to return to Carnival Escape. Just Much , Much better services. And the free Booze is great, but you can buy the package on the other ships anyway. It was just not what they profess to be. This is the first negative comment I have ever had with a cruise line. I generally go with the flow and am happy for new experiences. But don't bill yourself as this wellness, yoga ship the yoga room was locked for the entire cruise and the spa staff, save doctor, was just rude and looked like painted hookers. Nothing wellness about this ship. It is a booze cruise with rude staff. My "Butler was great" although I could not really communicate with him as he did not speak English or Italian. It was just not as good as the cheapest Carnival I've taken. I don't really care about the money, but it's a lie. Shame on MSC. Do your homework. Read Less

Poor service and poor food in the regular cabin area. All the good areas and food are saved for the yaght club. Most of the front of the boat. This makes the rest of the areas over crowded. The only tables to sit and hang out if you are not yaght club is the rear of the boat in the smoking section. This was our 12th cruise. I would rate msc barely above carnival and below Holland America. This cruise line has 3 to 1 ratio of passenger to crew compared to 2 to 1 on celebrity. We had a celebrity Cruise booked and canceled to this because our pickle ball group went on this. I am sorry I missed my celebrity Cruise. The pizza was very good. It turned out to be our staple diet. They had olive oil and red pepper as well as really good parmesan for the pizza. Read Less

The karaoke activities with leading entertainment person Zyni Diana from Columbia and her team was fantastic. Very liked the work of international team, their attitude to passengers needs and wishes. The restaurants and meals on ship was very nice. Liked swimming in all ship swimming pools, use of Jacuzzi was very relaxing. The ship was nice sport facilities with good training possibilities. Liked the gym and used it regularly. Liked the buffet cafe and possibility always have the drinking water there, that in hot and humid Caribbean climate is very important. This is our review of the MSC Divina cruise that took place over Aug 27 through Sept 3 of 2016. I will break this review into two parts, first, what MSC did right and secondly what they did wrong (IMO) The ship stopped at St Maartn, which is always beautiful and a great place to stop, San Juan, which is nice if you’ve not seen it before, and Nassau which is an armpit of the Caribbean. They even notify you that you should not stray off the “tourist” locations because of the rampant street crime there. I really don’t understand why the cruise lines don’t tell the Bahamas government that they will no longer stop there until they get their crimes cleaned up a bit. Seems to me that if you threaten to take away millions of tourist dollars to a country that basically survives off the tourist industry, they will do whatever it takes to get that situation under control. Ok..so what they did right. Embarkation was a breeze. MSC had more than enough folks at the check in counter to keep the lines moving at a good pace. Plus they spaced out the time you were allowed to check in from noon until around 6 which held the massive crowd surge to a minimum. Disembarkation was also very smooth although we were a little late starting but I think that was more of a customs delay than MSC fault. Did hear a couple of very frustrated passengers cursing at the check out location, but not sure what that revolved around so I can’t say if it was something the traveler messed up on or MSC. What they did wrong. First let me say that my wife and I are veteran cruises. We have cruised on just about every cruise line out there, and they all have advantages and disadvantages. I am having a difficult time coming up with much of anything that was positive about this cruise, once we actually got onto the ship. It started when we entered our room on the 8th deck. We open the drapes out to the balcony and see nothing but a row of life boats. Now, like I said above, we are veterans at cruising and my wife is very good at making sure that we are in a room without obstructions. We doubled checked our boarding tickets, rechecked the website, checked everything we could think of and could not find anything that tell perspective cruisers that almost all of the balcony rooms on deck 8 have at least a partially obstructed view. So we go down to the customer service desk to complain. While inline we hear two other guest complaining about the same thing. Now this has to be something that MSC deals with on a regular basis because they have stock answers for the complaints. First they try to blame the travel agent that booked the cruise. They then tell that you if booked online then you that you should have seen that the view is partially obstructed (which is does not say anywhere online). When we told them that we called and talked to an actual MSC agent and SPECIFICALLY told them we wanted a room with no obstructions, they then decided that our room wasn’t actually considered an obstructed view because the boats were not at eye level. I will attach a couple of photos taken from a seated position on my balcony and let the reader decide. That gets me to the customer service person that we talked to. I am really sorry that I didn’t get her name, and we checked everyday afterwards and never saw her at the customer service desk again, which is good because she should not be allowed within 100 miles of any customer service position. She was rude, condescending, and basically implied that this was our fault because we were apparently too stupid to find the original construction plans to the ship to see where the life boats were positioned. They also told us that there were no other balcony rooms available, which we also knew was a lie but were not in a position to push back more. At this point we decided to make the best of the situation and try to relax a little bit. We found what they referred to as the “Zen” pool area. Most ships that we have been on have an area that is adults only where you don’t have the loud dance music blaring all day long, so we figured the Zen pool would be a good place to go relax, drink a beer and try to calm down after our conversation with incredibly rude customer service person. We walk though the door to the pool are and immediately get blasted with Boom Boom Boom bass beat from some techno dance tune. Then we see multiple children running all around the pool area, so there goes our Zen moment. The buffet restaurant is open so we now decide to get a bite to eat. I have been on a lot of ships, including the Epic which holds over 6,000 passengers, and I have never seen an eating area as crowded as this one. The food is organized like they want to make it difficult for you. For example, all I wanted was a simple salad. You have to get you plate at the wrong end of the bar, so you get your plate, then have to walk to the other end to get your lettuce. At first I thought this was just because everyone was getting on and they were all going to the restaurant at the same time, but the crowds were the same everyday, no matter what time you went. Lots of really rude people that will cut right in front of someone standing in line without as much as a simple excuse me. By the end of the cruise, I had made several non friends by calling them out on their rudeness. So now we decide that we’ll wait until dinner and enjoy a good meal in the restaurant with great personalized service. Not so much….my table consisted of three ladies and myself. Our waiter comes over and I just assume that he’ll start taking orders from the ladies first….No….he comes straight to me. I was going to wait to see what everyone else was going to order. When I hesitated, he literally rolls his eyes at me, starts poking my wife in her arm telling her to start ordering. We had nothing special with our meal but had to ask twice for refills of ice water. The food was just flat out nasty. Worse food I’ve ever had on a cruise. I know that the cruise lines want to try and force folks into eating in their additional costs restaurants now, but they should still want to serve decent food to the regular guest that don’t want to spend that additional 40 – 50 bucks a day. The only defense that I can give our waiter is there was a large family of very demanding Asians sitting at the table next to us that consumed a lot of his attention. Deck chairs by the pools were in rare supply because folks did exactly what they were asked not to do. They would go up first thing in the morning and lay claim to a chair and then only actually use the chair for maybe an hour or two while tying them up so no one else could use them. The ship staff appeared oblivious or just did not care that this was happening. There were a surprising number of European cruisers on this boat. I don’t mean that disparagingly, it was just odd to see this many European folks on a US based cruise. A quick hint to my fellow European cruisers. If you’re over 50 years old and 50 pounds overweight, wearing a Speedo or a tiny two piece bikini is NOT a good look for you….just saying. There are some things that just cannot be unseen. The entertainment on the ship was pretty weak. We usually like to partake in a couple of the shows but there was nothing offered on this cruise that even remotely sounded interesting. I could go on but I think I’ve rambled on enough. Bottom line is, I will NEVER cruise MSC again. I had wondered what the initials MSC stood for. After this cruise I think its Massively Sucky Cruises, Read Less

The medical center or service was very expensive i got very sick the last 3 days but i couldnt see the doctor because it was way too expensive and the price didnt include medication .the rest of the cruise was fun and i wanted to thanks for the service and the capitan was very nice and the rest of the crew too. We were skeptical at first with this cruise line. MSC gave us a very good price. Matched our Platinum status with CARNIVAL. We are loyal to CARNIVAL,ROYAL,NCL but decided to give this cruise line a try and we did not regret for a moment that we did. Here are reasons why. 1) Connecting Balcony cabins that were absolutely gorgeous. 2) Ship is kept in immaculate condition at all times. 3) My kids had a wonderful time on the slides and beautiful pools. 4) Pizza is absolutely the best at sea. 24 hours a day hand made. 5) Dining staff remembered out names and where excellent every single night. 6) Entertainment was very good. Night clubs went on to 5 am. 7) Ship never seemed crowded. We have already booked MSC SEASIDE for 2018. I think CARNIVAL, ROYAL, and NCL have their hands full competing with this cruise line in the future. Especially on price. We absolutely loved the ship and MSC brand. We will definitely consider MSC along with the other lines when booking. Read Less

I had so many thoughts before boarding the Divina due to the reviews many people gave it, but I was impressed and the cruise surpassed my expectations. The ship is EXTREMELY CLEAN. Ship staff are always cleaning and you can tell. The ship is kept up extraordinarily well. The ship has so much chrome, glass and crystal and there are no fingerprints in sight. Atrium area is very classy and the staterooms are sheek and roomy. What I found strange was the lack of trashcans. We were actually instructed once in the lobby to place our trash on a table, and within a minute or two it was gone. State room furniture is dark cherry wood which looks a lot nicer than others I've seen and their is a lot of room for clothing , luggage, etc. Bathroom has stand-up shower with nice looking glass doors that can retract to allow more space. A lot nicer than your standard shower curtain. The room attendants do a fabulous job. Our room was probably touched at least 3 times a day. Once in the morning, some time during the day, and at night. And they do a great job. Food on the ship is very good. And due to the ship being European, favorites like pasta, pizza, baked good, gelatos are top notch! I need to emphasize again! The Gelato is VERY good. Every option in the buffet is available that you can think off. I also liked the idea that they always have a selection of cheeses with meats to end your meal, just like they do in Europe. The desserts are SO GOOD. Not too many chocolate treats, but lots of tarts and mini cheesecakes. And they put them in little decorative mini disposable bowls. Everything in this ship is done so elegantly. Majority of the cruise I ate, was at the pool, late night entertainment (parties/shows/casino), and hit the gym, and of course my excursions at port of calls so my review will be about those things. The gym on board was good. Nice amount of cardio equipment, and nice amount of dumbbells. Pretty view towards the front of the ship, and a jogging track on Deck 7. Only thing that was annoying was usage of the sauna/steam room required an additional $20 for a day pass, and I thought that was quite expensive. Now, although I mentioned the food being good above, my family and I also had 2nd seating for Villa Rosa. The food in Villa Rosa is mediocre at best. Some negatives I remember are the small portions, and the fact that the dressing for salad was literally watered down. Dessert in Villa Rosa is good and I recommend the Baked Alaska. During dinner they have a little Italian musical that is quite festive. None the less, we ate at Villa Rosa twice, and did the buffet the majority of the time.I went with a family of 7. My parents ate at Eatly and Galaxy and had no complaints. Casino is like most on cruise lines, and I won $100. So I was satisfied as I am not the big gambler and basically won the money back from my previous excursion. The theater on the ship is very large and pretty. The shows are amazing! I saw the Michael Jackson shows, The Mask, witches of Paris and Voices. All were VERY GOOD! My least favorite was "Voices" and that's solely due to it being a musical and not having any acrobats, stunts, magic, etc.... There is no bar in the theater, but the casino is adjacent so you can go to those bars, and bring your drinks in. The ship has 4 pools, with the 4th being only for Yacht Club. I recommend the garden Pool. Due to it being in the back of the ship, it has wave simulation with the movement of the ship, and is less crowded than the main pool. The main pool is ALWAYS CROWDED, so get there early. The indoor pool is a nice option as well, and has a retractable roof, so it can become outdoor. One thing that sucks is the people who save seats all day. That issue wasn't as severe on Carnival, but on MSC it's x's 10...I feel MSC should at least remove towels from seats after a certain amount of time. I literally saw people leave seats unattended for HOURS, to return and leave....So what's the point of saving the seat?!?!? Entertainment at the pool and music SUCKED! Carnival wins here. For a pool area, they could at least play Top 40's or billboard Top 100. They played the same music everyday which is Spanish or European. Nothing wrong with that, but there are Americans on the ship, and the ship set sail in Florida. Not the Mediterranean. The ship had a white party which was nice, but the turnout was weak. The ship also uses Galaxy to turn into a club at night and again, the music SUCKED, with the exception of 1 night where we had a great time. I definitely recommend this ship, for anybody who appreciates elegance and class but also being in a casual environment. The ship gives you many events and the style to dress up and even wear a suit a few nights, but also many nights to wear solely your tank tops and trunks. It's really what you make of it. To sum up the negatives, the dining sucks, with exception of buffet and entertainment options in terms of music and types of events sucks. But in all, with the excursions and other options like casinos, and shows it makes up for itself. Some last minute tidbits, the ship charges $12 per day of service which was a surprise to me, and many others. They remove it if you ask, but I perceived that as MSC trying to perform a "quick one", as many people visited guest relations to have it removed. For drinks, I bought the $84 voucher which lasted me the entire cruise. You get 18 drinks on board, which was plenty for me, and they can be used for gelato and other things. You also get $100 of shipboard credit as well to spend on anything. So you spend that before spending your own money. Hope this helps! :) Read Less

So we are a family of 4 and we decided to take our kids of there first new years crews on MSC which is a line that I have never been on. The sailing was from Dec. 26 2015- Jan 3 2016,days 8 nights. when we arrived at the port of Miami, just looking at the MSC Divina, It looked absolutely amazing, we absolutely could not wait to get on. When in the port there were long lines unless you had Aurea experience or higher which is what we had and got through very quickly eventually getting the ship. So we get on and the lobby Is filled with people trying to get to there cabin in an elevator but who cares we got there very soon. Getting into our balcony cabin, it fit all 4 of us, 2 on the king bed, our kids on the futon which was very comfortable. And keep in mind there are plenty of closet space but your bags go under the bed, there is no where else to put them. The bathroom is tiny. the shower doors are glass and are moved into place by magnets. On to the service. The service on the ship wasn't so hot. We ordered room service because we were very tired and ordered 4 sandwiches, but they brought us only 2 sandwich's, for a first timer I wasn't very satisfied. And later on they would mess up almost every room service order we made. In the restaurants such as black crab (which is the only free restaurant besides the buffet) all the waiters cannot speak English very well, they basically mumble. After reading some questions from people, they want to know if there is good activities for teens on board. The answer is no. My son is 14 and he had 2 family friends on board with him, and almost never gets bored. There is a teen club but it doesn't seem fun, all it is, is dancing to the same songs every day and playing Xbox which doesn't even sound interesting. They were bored mostly during the night. Something that the boys did was bowling basketball watch basketball and swim during the day and maybe the night. On the MSC Divina there are shows every night. And they are SPECTACULAR. The best have ever seen, everyone of us loved it. There was a show where Queen song were sang, acrobatics, dancing, and the best of all the Michael Jackson show. The theater was 100% filled that night, I mean the guy could dance exactly like Michael Jackson and they also have a special surprise at the end of the show for you! About the food, it was not so hot either. We didn't go to any other restaurant besides The black crab, buffet and eataly which was good. In the buffet there are not to many healthy choices for people who hate junk food like me. I'd say its OK. The black crab, some nights it was terrible some nights it was very good. They undercook steak a lot so remember to check before you eat it. The pizza and pasta are amazing in all restaurants since its a Italian ship so try that. We went to Ocho Rios Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Belize city and Freeport. All were very good except for Jamaica, we went to the beach it was just crappy. If you are going to Cozumel go to Playa San Juan, VERY NICE snorkeling! and if you are going Belize make sure to book the Starfish island excursion. Beautiful island! Over all I would come back to MSC as long as they improve!! Read Less

Everything was amazing. Food, entertainment, ports, weather, pools, gym, staff etc. We left our hotel room at 12 and had our first drink by the pool on the ship by 12:45. I have only one complaint which resulted in 4 vs 5 stars. The room was an attached room and we could hear everything from the next room. Is was as if we had no door at all between us. Therefor they could hear us as well. They were not loud party people thankfully. It could have been worse. Would not recommend these rooms. However, the room itself was great. I have done several cruises and this ship was the nicest looking by far. It depends on what you are looking for. If you want a loud party atmosphere, choose Carnival, quiet choose an older princess ship. This one was in the middle of those two. I would cruise with them again and looks like I may do that soon. Personal Background Information: I'm retired. This was my third cruise. Previous 2 were with Carnival. Travel To Port of Embarkation: Drove from my home to Miami. Hotel Info (if any): Stayed at a hotel near the airport. Parking at the terminal is expensive. Would try to get a hotel parking deal next time, or at least park away from the terminal. Embarkation: Miami. Since we got there early, we got on the boat quickly. Stateroom: 10186. The room was nice. The luggage fit under the bed, even with the scooters (to be used on shore), helmets and tennis racquets we brought along. Ship Info: MSC Divina. Nice ship. Only 2 years old. Multiple pools and hot tubs. Slide separate from pools. Nice sports court, but under utilized. Dining: 2 main dining rooms, 2 buffets, and several specialty restaurants. I did not go to specialty restaurants. In the dining rooms and buffets, the food was good to below average. Activities: I participated in basketball, ping pong, and soccer tournaments, since that's about all they offered. They mentioned tennis and volleyball in their "during cruise" document, but kept on coming up with excuses to why they could not be set up, though the court supports it. In that regard, MSC did not meets its commitments. - Children's Clubs: They have them, but I did not use them. Staff & Service: Very accommodating in the dining room. However, the entertainment team refused to set up tennis and volleyball on the boat. They know when you are in your room and won't bother you. The glasses in the room were not always replaced with clean ones. Entertainment: The song and dance shows were good, incorporating jugglers and acrobats. More lead singers than Carnival. There were a couple of opera performances. No comedy except jokes by the cruise director and entertainment team. Shore Excursions: I did not purchase any. Disembarkation: Was smooth like at an airline terminal. Summary: For me, this cruise would have been good value for the money, if they would have met their commitment and provided tennis and volleyball on the boat. If you could get Carnival for the same price it would be a better deal, since the food is better, they have comedians, and there will definitely be volleyball on the boat. Read Less

I have sailed on Celebrity ship, Princess and now the Divina. The MSC Divina is by FAR the most beautiful ship... ELEGANCE beyond words. My sister and I were upgraded from inside stateroom to balcony two weeks before departure and was quite happy with the room and size, 9th level. In order of importance I am going to review: ENTERTAINMENT: OUTSTANDING !!!! Better than anything I have seen in Las Vegas or Branson, Missouri for sure! Fine Arts exemplified in many venues. The Pantheon Theater is amazing and so classical. I don't enjoy opera, but the other shows were totally amazing. Yatsel Vera won my heart with his amazing tenor voice every night. The entire entertainment staff work tirelessly for these productions. The day entertainment was lacking, but it is more of a relaxed atmosphere for the days at sea, i.e., pool side, (many pools and hot tubs... smaller areas, not large) but always plenty of loungers. Others complained that there were not game type activities, but that didn't bother me. SERVICE: Service is lacking on this ship, as you will read on other reviews. I don't know if it is the European style or what, but we had to ask for wash cloths EVERY night for the next day. I used the pull out sofa and didn't want it pulled out and made, I did that myself. We saw our room attendant daily and he was friendly, but not overly serviced. I did tip him extra because I do believe they work hard, but was disappointed with the towel service. Don't ask a waiter for coffee or water refills at the buffets because they rarely speak to you or acknowledge you and will point you to the direction where to get your own. RESTAURANTS: We were assigned at the Black Crab and had to ask for different table, as we were way back by the noisy kitchen area. This was accommodated. BUT I have to say the only thing that was edible at the restaurants for me was the desserts (bad)... but true. Prime Rib so tough my sister and I sent it back. Chicken Parmseasan reminded me of microwave, thin and tough, did not eat. In fact, I would have preferred to eat at the buffet every night. We did not attend sit down meals 2-3 evenings because the food was so bad. The same menu is served in the Villa Rosa. The breakfast was always better. A lot of breads, pastries, Italian fare, which makes it difficult to eat healthy, but I still managed to lose weight while on this ship! Food was not important to me when booking this ship, for the price, it was still a super great deal. BUFFETS: Always plenty to chose from. I think they should have more vegetable options. A lot of bread, pasta every meal, the carving station was hit or miss. Late night they need more options, after 10 pm the pizza line is long and they can't keep up. I enjoyed the huge buffets and didn't overeat while there, tried to walk around and look at the options. Plenty of salads, fruits. Again, staff is there to walk around slowly it seemed, and even if you tried to get their attention, they would avert their eyes. I don't know if it is a language barrier or what. EMBARKATION: We were two hours late leaving Miami and they said they had to get the "paperwork" in order. That was disappointing, as I wanted to watch the ship leave Miami port so I missed the first night show Frank Sinatra! The next day we were told there was a medical emergency, so that's understandable if that was the case. DISEMBARKATION: We carried our own luggage off so had to be out of room at 6 a.m. !!! Continental breakfast and it was smooth and quick. Our plane left Miami at noon so we had a long day, but better than waiting for the long lines and groups. Would do that again. PORTS: St. Juan, Puerto Rico - full day of shopping and sightseeing, St. Maarten - I booked excursion through TriCity Sports or something like that, on line beforehand, and it was a disaster. This was for snorkeling/kayaking for $69. They put us on the wrong bus and it took over an hour to get onto the right bus, then the bus had mechanical trouble. Several in my group were going to demand a refund, but it is not MSC that gives the refunds, so be wary of where your excursion is booked through. I wasn't on a time schedule and was alone, so kind of enjoyed the chaos, at least I got to see all sides of the island with all the traveling we had to do on the bus... lol.... The snorkeling was fair, but wouldn't do it again. It was worth the experience of kayaking in the ocean... my husband was proud of me... and it was a fun experience. We had two days at sea. Was supposed to go to Bahamas but our great CAPTAIN took us to Grand Turk instead!!! WHAT A GREAT CAPTAIN HE WAS !!! He was personable, friendly, and always available. He was at the end of the show Thurs night and his speech brought me near tears. Talking about how many staff it took to run a ship this size (HUGE) and the staff people we see are but a few -- it takes so many to do the dishes, laundry, and behind the scenes. I left my whole $12 per day gratituity for this reason, at the end of the 7 nights. I felt, even with the poor restaurant and buffet service, $84 was deserved. Grand TURK: Ship dock is right next to WONDERFUL beach, pleasant shopping experience, bars, and wonderful snorkeling. I was at the beach for over 8 hours and saw more undersea life than I did on my excursion. It is wonderful! FITNESS ROOM is outstanding !!! You have to pay EXTRA for the aqua cycling so I never did that. A lot you have to pay extra for - spa, etc. and many specialty restaurants. The music on this ship is phenomenal. If you like jazz, disco, classical or whatever , you will FIND IT... such talent and always something is going on in the musical venue. The atrium is beyond explanation ... so beautiful. I just sat there many evenings listening to the grand piano, cello and violin, thinking I was the richest person in the world.. lol..... I would definitely go on this ship again, despite the few kinks that need to be brought up to par. I don't expect to be pampered or waited on hand and foot... if you want that kind of experience, then go to the Yacht Club or purchase a higher priced ticket. For the money, you can't go wrong.. and I hope to get my husband on it for our 20 year anniversary! The balcony stateroom we had 9094, was so quiet and the ship is well balance. I only felt the ship move once and that was coming into Miami port at 4 am on the day we returned.. Just the change in the speed and the current. Rarely heard our neighbors,.... but I imagine they heard my sister and I giggling and laughing through the night. It was truly a trip to remember and I would sail MSC Divina AGAIN !!!!! Read Less

I wanted to love this cruise so I could go on this ship again.I have been on a lot of cruises, this is the most beautiful ship, but that alone is not enough to bring me back.Embarkation was fast & easy but that could be because I was in the Yacht club.the suite was smaller than other ships suites I've been on,however it was very nice with a closet ,tub, marble vanity & a pillow menu which was needed ,the pellet pillows were on the bed.I was not sure the extra perks were worth it until I went to the buffet ,really needed some vegtables, the Le muse restaurant was good for the most part steak was excellent ,as was the lobster pasta dishes could have been better.Anyway the buffet offering was pizza ,fish ,thin slices beef and green beans.everything else was fruit & salads. The desserts were very few & didn't look very appetizing, save myself some calories there. Some things were odd to me, I like to eat breakfast early,we had 24 hr room service but could not get breakfast items til 7:30.the top sail also served at 7:30 & the restaurant at 7:00.It was inconvenient to get to the restaurant, you had to take elevator to 7th walk through the photo area that was crowded & narrow then take the elevator to the 15th otherwise you walked outside on a wet deck dodging chairs & people. Also the desserts looked beautiful in the atrium area but at a price. I did not think there was enough to do during the sea days .I saw 3 shows that were very good, nice theater. It was a different vibe for us in the evening always felt like the lone american, which would be fine if you spoke several languages. The private pool was great except very little shade, wine ,cocktails were excellent so I think it was worth it as a one time thing to stay in the yacht club ,I had planned to sail on this ship again in a balcony room in a couple of months ,but realized you do get what you pay for, cheap price on cabin ,not so good buffet, pay for the good desserts,no afternoon tea (they did have tea in Topsail) if any of these things are important to you ,you might want to reconsider. The Staff I had interaction with were very nice & professional. We travel and cruise a lot. Our very recent cruise on the MSC Divina was wonderful. As others have noted, the ship is beautiful. There are lots of things for children and teens but mainly I feel the ship is geared toward adults. Our cabin was very nice, with balcony. The room steward could not have been any more efficient or helpful, very nice man. The highlight of every day was the entertainment, awesome. The best I have ever seen on a ship or anywhere really. The performances were as good as Broadway, and operatic performances matched the Met! really quite unbelievable voices. I see some have criticized the food and the food service. This was unfair, our service was very good. We ate most meals in the dining rooms. All was quite good. Keep in mind that they serve over 3,000 people at each meal, no it is not like going to a local restaurant, in my mind it is better. As for the criticism about the private island food, considering that they had to bring all the food and servers from the ship, I felt it was quite good. Like anything else, if you wait to the last minute to eat, you will get what is left. There was plenty of drink available at the food pavilion which could have been taken on the tender if needed. Being flexible makes international travel much more enjoyable! I will book again with MSC. Our friends who were with us are also planning to rebook! Thanks MSC for a great vacation Read Less

My Husband & I decided a month prior to sailing to try MSC Divina to see if it's a ship line we could do in the Mediterranean next year. We are Diamonds on Royal Caribbean, been on Princess, many times on Carnival and even a Costa ship 20 years ago. We were not disappointed with the Divina. We arrived at the terminal around noon, checked in and then waited for our group number to be called so we can board. This is the first time we have ever done this, we waited about 25 minutes. MSC had waters/juices available while you waited. Once on board we went directly to our room, balcony on deck 9. We have been on 20+ cruises and this was one of the nicest/biggest rooms we have ever had. We bought the Allegrisimo Escape Vouchers, 15 for $72 and went straight to the Casino to pick them up. They let us buy 1 more package of 15. Many people bought the all inclusive package and loved it, was the best price of any cruise line we have been on, included gelato, waters, coffee drinks as well. Ship: Is drop dead gorgeous. Accent lights everywhere, music in the halls to your room, nothing in a square linear shape, everything is rounded, curved etc. It really is one, if not THE prettiest ship we have been on. The spa, the most gorgeous. We spent everyday working out, great equipment, never had to wait for anything except the first morning at sea when a little overcast. Other than that, always got a machine. The bars, atrium, gorgeous. The Calumet buffet, was the biggest of any ship we have been on, including the Oasis and Freedom class ships of Royal. But, the buffet was always packed, maybe because Europeans spend more time on lunch and sat longer. The pools/jacuzzis are the nicest we have seen as well. The infiniti pool in the rear of the ship by the Disarono bar was the prettiest view. The waterslide, although not fast as others we have been on, was adequate. Never had a problem getting a chair. It feels like the Divina had more deck space than Freedom class ships even with the Yacht area and the pay area, there was still enough chairs/deck space. The ship is all glass and mirrors, so looking out anywhere on the ship, you didn't have the white banister railings, all glass, so pretty. Even with 4000 passengers on the Divina, the ship disperses people well, it never felt overly crowded, except in the Calumet buffet. Food: We are not too picky about our food, they are trying to cater to Americans, they are still learning and want feedback. Not any different than Royal or Carnival. The pizza, best I have had at sea except for Carnival Sunshine. They had Mediterranean food, German food, hamburgers/hotdogs, salad, etc all at buffet. Breakfast was typical muffins, croissants, omelets, bacon, sausage etc. Plenty to choose from. Dinner: well, we've had better, it was just ok. I think the pastas were the best. I'm sure in time, they will get better. Our waiters brought out our food quickly, sometimes too quickly. My Husband had the prime rib, ordered rare and it was well done. Again, nothing that would ruin our cruise.Never was offered the fresh cracked pepper or parmesan cheese, we had to ask. The service could be better. Crew: friendliest in the Calumet, and always on top of cleaning up your dishes and table. The bar waitstaff, could put a smile on their face once in awhile and be a little more friendly/engaging. We usually went to the bar to get a drink instead of maybe seeing someone walk around and ask if we wanted something. We knew this going in, so not a big deal. Bars are everywhere. The Captain was THE most visible Captain we have seen. He was saying announcements every day, he had meet/greets, he was in the show at the end and had a great sense of humor about him. The Entertainment: Best shows, standing ovations every night. We quit going to shows on other ships because they were so repetitive. The singers/violinists/musicians all around the ship were great.Comedian was funny, It was wonderful just walking by each lounge/bar and listening to them all. Bingo at the pool on sea days. White party was fun out on the pool deck. Casino, not enough blackjack tables ,but it was nice because it is a nonsmoking casino. Entertainment crew did a great job trying to get people to participate. The Divina is a beautiful ship with a wonderful Captain. They want your feedback and they want to improve on what they need to improve on. We will definitely sail on MSC again. Thanks for a wonderful cruise MSC! Read Less

The cruise was absolutely wonderful! The ship was beautiful, clean and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Our 2 daughters and their husbands and our 5 year old granddaughter went with us and we enjoyed our entire trip. The shows were definitely broadway quality and the costumes were absolutely amazing for the shows. There was great variety for the shows. My favorite was the Michael Jackson Tribute. You really had the feeling he WAS Michael Jackson. His singing and dancing was unbelievable! You know the entertainment was great when a 5 year old watches and listens to opera with her eyes glued to the singers and sits and watches them sing with her mouth open. After the opera singers were finished singing, she turned to me and I asked her if she enjoyed the opera. Her comment was," Grandmom, it was awesome". She thoroughly enjoyed the Kids Club on board and stayed most of the day because she was having so much fun. The food was excellent and there was a great variety of food. It was an honor to meet The Captain of the Divina. Captain Scala was friendly, pleasant and very "down to earth". He answered a lot of our questions about the ship and being the Captain of such a beautiful ship. His staff seemed to respect him very much. Overall, I would recommend this cruise to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing and beautiful ship.WE truly enjoyed our 40th Wedding anniversary aboard the ship. Read Less

The staff was so nice, the ship was kept so clean, we were pleased with our dining choices (how can you not be pleased-I certainly don't have that many options at my house!) There were plenty of activities (we do wish they would have shown a late night movie in the theater). The entertainment was much better than we anticipated. Had a great balcony room that was meticulously cleaned every day. Shore excursions were good, just wish we had more time at each stop. Shopping on the ship was not great and there is no real dedicated walking/jogging track-those would be my only real complaints and with how much we loved the cruise I had to really think of something to complain about! Honestly, would love to cruise with this company again! Absolutely loved it! Read Less
