MSC Poesia - My experience

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Poesia

I was wondering about the very different reviews for the Poesia. Some people love it and others have been highly unhappy. I was not too thrilled about it either. I talked to people they actually booked a cruise the year before to see and experience the ship before they booked the transatlantic cruise. They've been saying if it would have been anything what we experience here today we would not ...

We booked MSC cruise because of its itinerary. I was not expecting much from this cruise line due to its negative reviews. We embarked at Kiel and the procedure was smooth and we were on board in 15 mins. The ship is sparkling clean and beautiful. Our inside cabin is bigger than some of the other cruise ship. The set back was the pillows and wool blankets. Pillows were awful and felt lumpy. ...

In the past 18 months we have sailed with four different cruise lines/ships - 3 of these in the past 3 months - in almost identical cabin categories and locations - all mid-range aft balcony cabins. Thus we are in an unique position to directly compare MSC Poesia with NCL Jade, HAL Noordam and Celebrity Century. We won't comment on the itineraries as they are all totally different. We can comment ...

Great ship, awful food!

This was our second transatlantic cruise. We fell in love with the destinations: 3 stops in Brazil, 5 days crossing the Atlantic ocean, Canary Islands, Funchal, Malaga, Tunisia, Croatia and finally Venice. Cabin and dinner service was great. Breakfast and lunch were not so good. The staff was slow (almost sleeping), we never got hot toast in the morning and they never changed the breakfast menu. ...

We were a party of 6, 3 experienced cruisers and 3 first timers. This posting is from an experienced cruiser's viewpoint. We sailed on the MSC Musica's repositioning voyage from Venice to Santos on 2-20 November 2008. I did want to write a positive report - and we did enjoy our 19 day transatlantic cruise to Brazil, especially the ports of call - BUT although the ship's decor and the cabins were ...

Personal Background We are a couple in our sixties, who have cruised 13 times, using Celebrity, Costa, Festival, Royal Caribbean, Airtours, NCL and MSC covering The Med, Caribbean, canaries and the Baltic. After a great Caribbean cruise on MSC Lirica, we were really looking forward to our first transatlantic crossing, and first visit to South America. Travel to Port Flew to Venice, Marco ...

This cruise appealed to us because of its unique ports of call, which exceeded expectations. We commenced and ended our journey with a tour of Northern Italy. We spent 3 nights in historic Genoa, at Hotel Soana, centrally located near the Oriental Market. Prior to embarkation, we took the lift to Spianata di Castello, which is the best lookout in the city, with panoramic views of the old town, ...

MSC Lirica - Trans-Atlantic

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Lirica

We are long time cruisers, having traveled the best of all cruise lines. This was our first cruise aboard MSC. Here are our comments: Considering the fact that one is in environment of 2,000+ passengers, overall, we have to say the cruise was fairly good. Let me say at the onset, we are very demanding passengers. We know good food, good service and good accommodations. Accordingly, if one expects ...
