Just Enjoy

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Seaside

I sailed on its maiden voyage from Trieste, Italy to Miami Fl this past December and could not have enjoyed it more. Excellent crew, in all areas of the ship, they could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Dining room acoustics very good, never seemed too loud. Never really enjoyed going to buffets, but the fact that you could dine outside made it worthwhile. Good selection of food, and ...

Brand new ship built in Italy sailing to its home port in Miami. The Mediterranean ports were amazing, dining room food was outstanding, daily visits for gelato, coffee and chocolates were fun! Saw some real Italian Opera and other good shows. The cruise was a BARGAIN in capital letters. We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite with a gigantic balcony center front of the ship, got 3 free shore ...

Good overall, but some issues

Cruised from Venice to Rio over a 3 week period. Had been to most of European ports before, but chose this cruise for the stops in Brazil. Unfortunately had to miss Fortaleza due to strong winds, and it rained most of day in Buzios. Overall we liked the ship having a comfortable balcony cabin, although the wardrobe space was a bit small. The ship was in good condition, but there were some ...

A bit of everything

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

We did this cruise because of the itinerary and timing, having done the return trip via the W. Coast 4 times before - but never on the Sinfonia. We had been told that she was a nicer ship than the Opera, but did not find that to be the case. The good stuff first: Cabin. We had booked an Aurea Suite and were not disappointed - best position and cabin (and bed) we have ever had - spacious ...

Suez and Middle East

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

The middle eastern ports of call appealed to us and the fact that the cruise went along the East coast of Africa. We have already done the voyage along the west coast of Africa. We also looked forward to going through the Suez Canal as that was a first time experience. WE were disappointed in the excursion to King Solomons mines as we were given the impression we would visit a kibbutz but ...

First sea trip as a passenger

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

I am a marine engineer, worked on ships and tugs my whole life, for once I wanted to be a passenger. As I have spent my life in small cabins the size of the cabins on board did not bother me. The company that I work for have had new tugs built, which also use passenger ship shower/ toilets and on these the shower curtain does not hug you as you turn. The ship was excellent, cabins I suppose, ...

Great ship, wonderful itinerary - horrible food

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

We had spent 5 weeks in Dubai and Southern Africa and saw this 21 day itinerary from Cape Town to Venice as an attractive way to travel to Europe. The ship is older, but has been refurbished and cabins added a few years back. We found the ship to be immaculately clean, well maintained and attractive. We sailed in an outside cabin (non-obstructed view) and this is where the wonderful begins! ...

Grand Voyage - CPT to Venice May 2017

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

Exceptionally good value for the cruise. The ship was well maintained with the exception of the cabin air conditioning which was contaminated and resulted in upper respiratory tract infection. There was the usual problem of people reserving sun loungers for long periods of time but not using same, this needs to be addressed by MSC crew. The cabin was adequate but the shower was too small. ...

Great cruise, still room for improvement.

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and as a convenient way of getting to Europe. The Sinfonia is not to the same standard as the Opera which we have cruised on, on two occasions. There is too much pork served at breakfast and lunch. Buffet in the main dining room with a full menu service is rather strang? If people want buffet, there is a whole restaurant dedicated to that style of ...

Can't Grumble for the Cost

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Orchestra

Now don't get me wrong, we really enjoyed this cruise and for the money we paid it was a bargain. However not having cruised with MSC before there were a few unexpected omissions compared to other lines we've used. Embarkation was swift as we were one of the last to board due to a prior trip to the Iguazu Falls, then it was straight into the lifeboat drill, where you not only had to take your ...
