it was something different from the normal holidays. Absolutely relaxing with everything catered for. Luxurious bed. Good dining experience - friendly waiters. Shows were excellent providing good entertainment. Deck activities were very entertaining and fun filled. Staff were excellent in roping everyone in. Jacuzi was not very well kept. Very little variety in food though - very bland.Breakfast was very good. Not hot mild so coffee got cold quickly (disappointing) drinks were a bit expensive. Bars were very poorly manned - long waits. the entire ship was very neat and well cared for. Staff were constantly working - hats off to them. it was disappointing not to go ashore. There wasn't a market / shopping activity for average traveller. not enough entertainment during the day. All activities started in the evening. embarking process was very easy. Disembarking a bit rushed. Photos very expensive. All in all a very relaxing trip. Read Less

the rates are very reasonable. my husband and i were honeymooning and what better way to have your first experience together as newly weds. the restaurants are very clean and the waiters are very friendly and professional. Samunti from the IL Galeone Restaurant would be reason for me sail again with MSC very funny guy.The cabin was very warm apart from the small size of the shower everything was just fine. The housekeeping team very helpful and always willing to assist. The lounges were just to the TEE, we spent most of our time at the Manhattans Lounge the entertainment really kept us going. This is where all the ladies took advantage of the chance to dance with the Officers, dream come true for me. Don't tell my husband i said that. Lol. As for the shows perfect, Stephen job well done, the last show really left me in tears, i felt very emotional when the time came for us to say goodbye to the Ship, really felt like another home away from home, we made new friends and became one big happy family during the 4 days.Job well done MSC your staff is well trained and they did everything with big fat smile all the way. we still would like to go see Pomene because the trip had to be cancelled due to the whether. thank you for making our honeymoon memorable. This was one of my bucket list items and what an experience my wife and I had fantastic that is how I will describe it I feel it is a must. The embarkation was handled so professionally MSC Staff you guys were great. The cabin where we were in very comfortable great stuff , although I feel the shower could have some improvement. The food was great 24/7 service no problem well organised and you dine wherever you really feel comfortable. Staff from various countries very helpful and respectful always a smile on their faces and I must compliment the staff who is keep the Sinfonia spotless everyday all day long. Great entertainment on and off the Sinfonia , my hi lite was the music in the Manhattan Bar great music great entertainment and people participate that was great to see. On deck various games for adults as well as kids , I will recommend anyone to go an experience this , it was fantastic I definitely will do it again and to crown it all my wife is cared of water or heights and she enjoyed herself tremendously. Cabin: 14063, Aurea Whirlpool Suite, Forward Facing Balcony Experience: Aurea Cruise Departure Date: 1-27-18 (Western Caribbean) First time cruising with MSC and overall the cruise exceeded all of my expectations. I would definitely book another cruise with them. Observations: -I only noticed the sewage smell on Deck 19 near the HVAC exhaust ducts and it was a faint smell at best. I never smelled anything in the interior of the ship. There still appears to be some gremlins in the plumbing system though. The toilet in our room stopped flushing on the 3rd day. We called guest services and the toilet was fixed within 24hrs, so not a major inconvenience to us. -All of the technology of the ship worked perfectly. The touch screens around the ship were very helpful. The kiosks for registering my credit card were quick and easy. Never waited in line and the whole process took about a minute to complete. -There was salted butter on our table for every meal... -The overall design of the ship is amazing. The public spaces are visually appealing and always kept very clean. The ship design does a great job of dispersing the 5,100 passengers around the ship so that none of the areas feel crowded. Even on a sea day with bad weather, the ship was not crowded. -Embarking and Disembarking the ship in port was the quickest I've ever experienced on a cruise ship. We were able to get off the ship within 15 min, and able to get back on in about 30 min. -The spa and gym facilities are very nice. Plenty of machines and free weights to get a workout in without having to wait for anything. The thermal area of the spa is spectacular. The sauna, dark steam room, light steam room, salt room, and giant hot tub were all very relaxing. The thermal area was also never crowded and very relaxing. -The food on the ship is adequate. I don't go on cruises for food as it is all essentially mass produced banquet food, so that is where my level of expectation is set. The food on Seaside wasn't any better or wore than the cruises I've taken on RCI, Princess, or HAL. Buffets: We used both buffets and were always able to find something to eat. The pizza and burgers were always good for a quick snack. We also never had any issues finding a place to sit. Main Dining Room: The food in the main dining room is also adequate. Nothing special, but not terrible. The service was always very prompt and we always had drinks, bread, and butter offered to us. Overall, the entire meal took a little over an hour. Specialty Dining: We ate at all of the specialty restaurants and they were all very good. The value for the money is hard to beat. Overall the inclusion of the drinks package, free coffee, gelato, access to the Thermal Spa, free massage, private sun deck w/ bar, MSC Seaside is well worth the money spent. I wouldn't consider MSC to be a "budget" cruise line in any way. Read Less

We choose this cruise because of its itinerary and the lenght of stay in Havana. Firstly they give you very little information, but has we have done cruise before we soon found out things. The daily news letters arrived after 8.pm so we did not know what was happening till late the night before The clientelle is mainly Italians, Spanish, German and the entertainment is mainly around this. The entertainment team work hard, but it was boring mainly. Dance classes on deck twice daily, which I except but why have them again in the evening when people want to be entertained. The main duo were good, but all other singers were terrible. The main dinning area was too bright, slow service and the food was not good, the buffet the food was boring and bland. Overall the food was not good at all. No real choice or flavour. The best things were the fries and the pizza which I normally dont eat alot of. The staff I feel did not make much of an effort to the guests. Slow with filling up the wine glass. Two choices of dinning is not enough. The dinning room is old fashioned in decor which you can live with but bland food, no. The excursions were expensive so we choose to do our own thing for a lot cheaper. Our cabin was fine we were on deck 8 and was kept clean and presentable. But again the staff never really made any effort to smile or speak when passing. The bar staff on deck were slow and were not over friendly, on a couple of occassions they were hanging around and not coming to get guests orders. Again not so good at customers service. Can not rate the theatre as did not go as not really our thing The pub on deck 5 was a better service. Can not fault the drinks package, the choice was good and had some decent brands on offer and the coktails too. But overall the food and entertainment was poor. And lastly dont put anything in your case you want to loose i had things taken out of my case between putting it out on the last night to docking. Msc can take up too 28 days to reply. The suitcase was set aside without warning we were still obliged to go to the service desk. Little drawer, bedside table too small .... smaller room of all cruise ships. No storage space had to leave an open suitcase. The service desk always too busy ... and poorly located. Non-entertaining music in the middle of the ship. Their application MSC at sea does not show the current bill you have to go to the service desk again. The music plays very loud and we hear it very well from the room every night until 12:30. Do not take a room in the middle of the boat. The boat is new but it smells bad in many places in the rooms and corridors. Several passengers made complaints. The elevators are very slow and many are systematically out of order for two weeks. Lack of sunbeds when at sea and the weather is nice. Buffet very repetitive little diversified. Dining room well. The shows are very good at the theater. There is no free movie. Read Less

After reading some of the reviews we were wondering what we’d let ourselves in for. We needn’t have been concerned, the ship was lovely, spotlessly clean, cabin although a little smaller than most, was very comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of entertainment. The theatre, and the Circe de Soliel were excellent. Although there were many nationalities on board English was the first language. The food was good, all tastes catered for in the buffet diner and specialty restaurants. Maybe a bit on the expensive side, but we were on holiday. The only disappointment was the weather. We enjoyed Rome, and Valletta.Barcelona and Marseilles were the proverbial wash out. We are going to the Caribbean next month so hopefully we shall find the sunshine there, again we go with MSC, although not the same ship. I’m not going to read any reviews before I go, as we had a very good experience last time I shall look forward to the same. Read Less

The food was terrible, the service was terrible. The ship was so unorganized. I have been on just about every cruise line. I would go on a Carnival, Royal, Princess or NCL any day over this. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CRUISE. I know a lot of people who have booked this cruise and i am trying to talk them into cancelling because it is SO BAD. Every time we went to the restaurant it took about 3 hours to get served. I contacted customer service directly about a horrible experience I had with a customer service manager and I have yet to hear back over one week later after this woman called me stupid and told me there was nothing I could do about it because she is a customer service manager. I am warning you DO NOT GO ON THIS CRUISE. Take any other cruise line and you will enjoy way more Read Less

I've chosen this cruise because of previous experiences as were regular cruisers however the two experiences differ completely. I'm extremely disappointed by this cruise through guest service as well as overall cleanliness of the entire experience. this time around things seemed impeccably unprofessional and slacked. Embarkation at durban port could improve as well as welcome services. However the bad experience for the first time in many cruises, entertainment always proves to be a thumbs us for me, well done to the theatre shows. Staff would come across as tired and uninterested and dining staff were completely delayed whereas bar services were more on point however we had an incident where a non-virgin drink had been given to my underage child and that was totally unacceptable! My family and i love cruising, however this experience had really put us off. i hope that these faults could be acknowledged and that in future cruises we won't ever come across such disappointments. MSC MUSICA My wife and I , together with my sister and brother-in- law , booked for the Transatlantic cruise during the month of november 2017. We booked the cruise because Kras travels (the Netherlands) offered a special promotion. We took our transatlantic cruise from Venice to Rio de Janeiro, 21 nights (12 Nov to 5Dec2017) . We actually have no complaints at all. Everything went like clockwork from embarkation to debarkation. a little late leaving Venice but it actually made for a beautiful departure from port. The MSC MUSICA is a beautiful ship with plenty to keep you busy with so many places to walk around and see and things to do. We arrived at the cruise terminal early but everything went smoothly and after waiting in the cue for 30 minutes we were able to board. Our cabin was ready and also our cruise card so we were able to use our lunch. We then went to the buffet for lunch it was very busy but this was not a problem as there were staff at the buffet entrance who took you to a seat. Also there was a button on the table to summon a beverage waiter and they were very efficient. The food was hot and there was a good selection. I loved the majority of my breakfasts and lunches in the Deck 13 Buffet, unfortunately my dinners in the Restaurant were inconsistent and I did have several sub-par dinners. The buffet on the deck 13 The food and beverage manager Mr. BRUNO , organized his team and equipment as a 5 star hotelrestaurant. The equipments and cutlery always cleaned by his team from 8am to 8am, the wole day long. Food at the cruise was lovely, a lot of choice and variety. There were so many food choices on 6 corners including a bread and pastery, an Italian corner, a fruitcorner and a big buffet. They present several times a week , special items and a tapas- and brasilian event. Service was generally good. To enjoy a long cruise, you must prepare how you wish to spend the many sea days (here included 6 transatlantic sea days). While there was a multitude of activities we participated some activities offered by the Cruise Director. The entertainment was OK. Some of the stage shows were good some not, bands in the bars were varied. We were never bored for we met several travellers with the same age and ideas. We took a few very good shore excursions, but we mainly explored on our own, and took taxis and public transportation. We missed 1 of the 5 Brasilian ports due to storms. Once we sailed out of the Mediterranean, into the transatlantic crossing, it was very smooth sailing, and every day was sunny and warm towards Brasil. The cruise was pristine , immaculate, and the upkeep was spot on. The cruise is quieter this time of the year so we cannot make a review for the summer season. There is still a lot to do, because the animation is working during day-times but also every evening is there something to do. The cabins/bedrooms were fabulous we had a double room which was quite big and they were clean and looked very new. Our room was lovely the bed so comfortable and our housekeeping excellent.
