We were on the Meraviglia departing New York doing the 10 day Canada/New England cruise leaving October 18. We have been on more than 20 cruises with Princess, Holland, Celebrity, Carnival and Norwegian. We have cruised previously on the MSC Seaside and the Divina.
The Meraviglia is a very large ship carrying 4500 passengers. The ship is beautiful and was very clean throughout. We found all ...
Living in South Florida, we were ready to get away from the heat and travel to a cooler climate for a few days. Had cruised on MSC Divina and MSC Seaside, so decided to give the Meraviglia a try. We were not disappointed! The ship is just beautiful, and lovingly maintained. Officers and staff were very friendly and often visible. We had a balcony cabin and initially thought closet and storage ...
I have sailed on MSC Seaside twice before and really enjoyed everything about it. So I decided to sail on Meraviglia. There were confusing issues constantly. I registered as a gluten free passenger but that was not on their list. I booked the cruise 2 years ago while onboard Seaside but nothing I signed up for showed on their reservations. Seaside had lots of great options for eating but ...
Dates fitted our holiday window, so we gave it a go.
Lead up all went good, emails and info supplied.
Boarding was swift and free from issues. Met by friendly staff and went to our cabin.
Cabin was small but found it to be cosy and well equipped.
We had our first evening meal in the Lobster restaurant. We had different meals and found the food to be far from restaurant fair. Mostly ...
The ship its self was modern clean with an impressive stairway and delivered what was expected from this class of ship .
We purchased the Aurea package which gave you some extras like free drinks, package massage, my choice dining and free access to deck 18
Dining was the first problem, a high standard was expected from the team as the previous two cruises delivered this but , quality of ...
Mainly chose this ship as the itinerary suited, no sea days and many islands to visit. its difficult to find something very good about this MSC cruise and unless they have a good rethink about the following would never go on MSC again. We have been on many cruises over the years.
The cabin was very clean although the shower area needs the sealant re-doing as its going black.
Food on board ...
We decided on this cruise as a sudden addition to our bucket list - Havana (Cuba), St Marteen, Antigua, Madera - all in one sweep.
Getting through Havana airport was an exceptional experience and one not to be glamorised in any way. We arrived at the ship quite late went through the obligatory photograph, not much in the way of a welcome, collected our cards then straight to our cabin and ...
We cruised on this ship on March 5th to 20th this year we fly to Barbados and got straight onto the ship this part was brilliant such a easy and well organised procedure by MSC, the plane was all Cruise ship passengers and we gave in our cases at Gatwick airport check in and we did not see them again until they arrived in our cabin on the ship in Barbados (amazing) once we landed in Barbados we ...
Overall, we have had a good cruise. Many minor things were not quite there to make it a great cruise.
Food:
Restaurant - “Black Crab” food quality got better as the cruise went along, though it was somewhat inconsistent. Our waiter was exceptionally polite and attentive.
Buffet – Food was ok, good selection, the pizza was very good. In the “rush hour”, drink service at the buffet was ...
The cruise started on a bad note because too many of the staff seemed tired and annoyed at serving the incoming guests. As a first impression this is not great. Then there are countless hidden costs, even when you purchase packages that are merchandised as all inclusive. Even the gym had many additional costs which was a shame. The spa was nice but they did some hard selling even somewhat pushing ...
