Just returned from a two night cruise, (it was billed as a get aquatinted cruise) its was my first time on MSC and frankly it will be my last. While the ship was wonderful, with the exception of the shows and cabin steward about everything else was either second rate or a disaster.

The MSC web site was about as bad as I have ever run across. The booking consultants are only available during week days, and along with their poor web site left much to be desired. The check in process took more than an hour after arriving in the hall. Once aboard, we found out we were issued a late dinner seating, while we had asked for early.

The mandatory life boat drill was the customary thing but the required bringing the life jacket to the drill. That night we got a note stating very firmly that we missed the drill! It seems that their onboard computers work about as well as their website.

Because, of a space issue they booked us on the 13th deck directly below the band shell that BLASTED music (?) until 12:45, making it impossible to sleep, Because of a tour we had to be up early so only got about 5 hours of sleep. The buffet was questionable at best they seem to think Americans only eat hamburger, hot dogs along with Pizza. For Breakfast they serve eggs, only scrambled and hard. Lots a bread, I guess its about all they think one should eat. The last day I was told they ran out of eggs! So lots of bread.

The The dinning room "Black Grab"serves what could best be described as dormitory food quality with a limited item selection. My grandson described it as what he gets at college, and his college food is rated by the state as equal to prison food so you draw your own conclusion.

The cabin steward was ok but I only saw him twice when he turned down the room. Missing in action was the cruise director, he never arranged any onboard activities. While this was only a two day trip I would have expected him going out of his way to keep everyone entertained because there were many tour consultants visiting this cruise line for the first time. We had one at our table and two at the next table, none of whom were impressed with the food.

The pool area was nice, and the the nightly shows were a very high caliber. Drinks were fairly priced, and the tours did not seem overly priced for making arrangements onboard.

Bottom line skip this cruise line there are so many better ones available.

Well I found out real fast there is a difference. This started with getting on board early and sitting in the port until 7pm. I decided to check out the buffet and thought it was just that we were sitting in port and they had limited food. Pasta's which I am not keen on. I ate light.

Decided to have a few drinks and had purchased the drink package. The bar tenders had no personality and didn't want to take the drink order and encouraged me to use a waiter. That was strange. Then went to the pool and relaxed..So I thought. I know this is the time to play music and whatnot but this music was Latino music. I thought well it will change. Nope they played Latino music the entire cruise. The only place I could find top 40 was in the disco.. After a certain hour it became too loud. SO night comes and I go to dinner. Late seating. I ordered blackened fish and it did not come to me blackened. In fact it was not grilled. It was baked and had min pepper. It was actually like an Alfredo on the fish which surprised me. I asked for steak the next night and DO NOT ever ask for steak from the alternate menu. It had so much fat and grizzle .It was nasty. The food was not good. I am shocked that they do not know .. One decent aspect was the skywalker show. It was a good rendition of Michael Jackson songs with someone trying to look like MJ lips singing. What a disappointment this was to me. All in all the rooms were nice as I had a balcony suite. Casino was ok not many payouts that I could see. If you want to waste your money for luke warm service this would be the one.

I just returned from the 2014 Moody Blues Cruise. The lineup was amazing and I am still floating on air after this cruise. Highly recommend this cruise if there is another one. That being said, I am reviewing the ship "Divina" This ship is magnificent and the crew was beyond reproach. There was never one minute of want or need on my part. The ship was spotless and there was never one moment that I didn't see crew members constantly cleaning. The large balcony state room was very, very nice. Upon arrival, I was dismayed to see that the twin beds were still apart even though I had requested they be made into one large King. All it took was one phone call to guest services and, as soon as I left my room, my room steward must have come in and moved them together and remade the bed. Amazing service.

The only issue was with the buffet. I was not pleased with the selections, although the food that was there was delicious!

I highly recommend this ship and am looking forward to cruising on the Divina in the near future.

I was beyond pleased with the embarkation and disembarkation process. I was off the ship and through customs within ten minutes!!!! Amazing. On previous cruises out of Galveston, the disembarkation process was an ordeal that I would not care to repeat. I was thrilled with the organization with which we were off the ship and through customs.
