Mediocre at best

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

Overall the cruise was mediocre at best it's like a holiday inn but on water. Cabins we're clean but cramped, there was not enough space to put two weeks of clothes in the closets so we had to get creative. Showers we're good though. The food was "meh". I have an allergy which can be easy to cater for. So I went to their restaurant told them about it several times before I ordered the food ...

Wonderful cruise to Iceland and Norway in a Yacht Club Duplex suite

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We usually cruise with Celebrity in the Retreat (but have also done one cruise with NCL and one previous MSC Yacht Club cruise). We've cruised several times to Iceland and to Norway, but we were drawn to this cruise because it gave us a chance to see them both in one two-week cruise. At the time of booking, the cruise should have been sailing from Southampton to Greenock, Stornoway, Isafjordur, ...

Below par experience

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We chose this cruise because we wished to go to Iceland and Scotland, we had been to Norway before so the fjords always look spectacular and we booked with MSC as we are trying to use all the different cruise lines. To be fair, some of our experience was as we expected, some like disembarkation was even easier, but failures provoke this review. Msc cancelled our Stornaway stop, no explanation, ...

Fantastic Experience

I felt compelled to leave a review, reading some really negatives ones - whether people have exceptionally high expectations or just enjoy whinging, I’m not sure… but we had a fantastic holiday! The crew are incredible. First and foremost. They were all friendly and welcoming. Granted, the security guards were a bit salty at times, but frankly, they deal with some real idiots. We heard one ...

Cheap and not that cheerful!

Although the ships looks good, if you take a closer look everything is on a budget! The decor is just ok you will struggle to find a comfortable chair The biggest issue by far is the lack of cabin soundproofing. MSC stupidly and very annoying put us next to a family, so we were woken up most morning between 5/6am by screaming kids yelling at top of top of their voices and running around. But ...

One of the best holidays ever

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

This was my first cruise experience. I went with my family. We all enjoyed it a lot. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious we really enjoyed it a lot. We were with our disabled child who had special dietary requirements and we were worried about fulfilling them but the staff was so kind and helpful that on very first day when we asked Mr. Lopes, one of the service ...

Butlins at sea

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

I recently went on a 3 night cruise from Southampton on the Virtuosa. We had a very cheap price (around £350 each for a balcony cabin, inclusive of drinks package) so my expectations were pretty low to start. We have previously sailed Cunard and Princess and whilst I knew MSC were very much the other end of the cruising spectrum, I didn’t expect it to be quite as rough as it was. Embarkation ...

The dining restaurants were of average standard. The buffet restaurant was over crowded with lack of staff. The service chaotic. Too many people crammed into a short period with not enough staff. In the bars it took 30 to 40 minutes to be served.Too many photographers which could have been spent on employing more bar staff/waiter service. Rooms were cramped and small. Ship was beautiful pity the ...

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

The reason i use msc is because kids go free. I have three children and simply cannot afford to pay adult prices for my whole family I'm an experienced cruiser, who has used all the major cruise lines. We Enjoyed them all immensely, but paid twice the price or even more. Despite not charging me for my kids, they then have a free kids club for each child and also take them for their meals. ...
