I have been on 35 cruises starting in the late 1970"s. I have been on a lot of ships and this one twice. The first time 3 years ago. It was the cruise from HELL. None of the staff spoke English for one. food was at Carnival level Garbage and the service- we never got any. Now I was told and read many things had changed on this ship over the last 3 years. This is the biggist line of bull. This time I traveled with 50 people, all have 15-25 cruises each. Their review--NEVER AGAIN.The service is so bad. My room was not made up for the first time until after 4 PM everyday. Don't ask for ice in your room-you'll never get it. Dinner, another joke. We had a table for 8, saw the waiter every 15 minutes. He brings the water and bread then he's gone for 15 minutes who knows where. Then he comes back and takes your order, then he's gone for 15 minutes-who knows where. You sit there waiting and waiting for your food. Then when it come there's enough for half of you.The Entertainment was some of the same shows 3 years ago, but they were better then than now. Same people on stage for all the shows. You want to meet people on the ship? forget it. Out of 4300 people on board I think 200 were Americans. So now you learn how to talk to yourself. Do yourself a favor take Royal Caribbean, Celebrity or Princes lines. I give this ship and line a 1/2, only because the ship floats. Read Less

We were a group of 23 all ladies group, we partied morning, the vibe aboard the ship was awesum. The bar staff were very ill mannered and down right crappy, crabby people with no hospitality skills what so ever. The showers are a bit of a bummer , way to small but we managed to get by. The guys servicing the cabins were super efficient . In particular Barry servicing 7172 he was so professional in his job, and delivers an outstanding service his a definite asset to this cruise ship. The food was ok , and plenty, the restaurant staff at 11 Covo Dining room and chief in charge Ginaro and his team were the bomb, they treated us like queens, a mighty big thank you to all of them with heaps of love.. The rest was just fun, fun, fun. I do it again and again and again.. Sadly we didn't get to go to the islands due to poor weather conditions , but that didn't damper our spirits the entertainment on board was good. Read Less

I travelled on the Opera in 2015 with a group and did the same now on the Simfonia. We had an absolute ball, met some great people. The dinning in the restaurants was exceptional. I was just a bit dissappointed with the fact that the DJ's o the deck played mostly afrikaans music. On the deck is where we have a good time. We were very happy with the entertainment at the Manhattan Bar. The one thing that was annoying was the inadequate seating at breakfast. The cabin cleaning staff were exceptional Bhari in particular...very polite and helpful. I have to mention that a particular barman on the 11th deck was very rude..... didnt get his name though. I was disaapointed we did not go to the Island but do understood that the weather did not permit it. On the whole a good way to relax and have a good time with friends and family. Read Less

Cruise is chosen because of the itinary and price. We have cruised before with MSC (Splendida & Fantasia) in the mediterranean. Embarkation was smooth (except for the customs in Cuba) Ship is old and on some places this is vissible. Also the enlargment of the ship didn't match the restaurants and public places. The window cleaning was poor and suspected a long time ago done, some windows you can't see throug. Cabin is average but the shower was very poor (a very, very small shower, you could barely stand in it) It is scary when you pull out an electric plug out of the wall socket and the socket is coming out also. The toilet seat was old and on some places discolored (yellow instead of white) and the cover of the light above the mirror and sink was lose. Entertainment was excellent but a pitty they did repeat the shows the next week, so the second week was boring on the entertainment. Dining was average (we did eat better before on other ships (also on ships from MSC) and just like the entertainment repeating itself. Service was ok, but some personell on board need some training on kindness and client approach and dealing with complaints. Some people working at the service desk were rude and cannot deal with complaining guests. Ports (Havana, Montego bay, George town, Cozumel, Havana, Belize city, Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Havana) were excellent and the same score for the excursions itself. Disembarkation and embarkation was ok, however there were not to many points were you could get on or of the ship. Sometimes there was only one gangway for all the people going off or on the ship. We did travel with 6 adults in 3 cabins and were scattered all over the ship. Fitness room was very small and sometimes crowdy. Internet is to expensive for the quality the deliver. In the cabin we had no wifi reception at all so we had to go to another part of the ship to get connection. And even when we have a wifi connection it was very slow, so slow we cannot even send one photo with a smal text from my smartphone (galaxy S8) to facebook. We had the smallest bundle (1000 MB) for € 50,- You better avoid the public toilets when you have to do a big deposit because they are not realy proper and sometimes the toiletpaper is depleated. A lot of bars and lounges are closed during the day (even on a sea day) so you were forced to go to the same locations everybody goes. The itenary was great and recomandable. We think we skip MSC for a while, there are other companies who have a better overall score. Read Less

the rates are very reasonable. my husband and i were honeymooning and what better way to have your first experience together as newly weds. the restaurants are very clean and the waiters are very friendly and professional. Samunti from the IL Galeone Restaurant would be reason for me sail again with MSC very funny guy.The cabin was very warm apart from the small size of the shower everything was just fine. The housekeeping team very helpful and always willing to assist. The lounges were just to the TEE, we spent most of our time at the Manhattans Lounge the entertainment really kept us going. This is where all the ladies took advantage of the chance to dance with the Officers, dream come true for me. Don't tell my husband i said that. Lol. As for the shows perfect, Stephen job well done, the last show really left me in tears, i felt very emotional when the time came for us to say goodbye to the Ship, really felt like another home away from home, we made new friends and became one big happy family during the 4 days.Job well done MSC your staff is well trained and they did everything with big fat smile all the way. we still would like to go see Pomene because the trip had to be cancelled due to the whether. thank you for making our honeymoon memorable. I was really blown away what an amazing experience .............will really want to do it again and again. We needed more than four days to explore everything that the ship has to offer but i had fun, best holiday ever with the family the food was nice. Gained so much weight with the amount of pizza i ate fresh from the oven. I just loved being on the upper deck the view was very nice and interacting wit the barman was awesome. The disembarking was very bad especially if you have children maybe something they can approve on for people with children and elderly people. The service was great the guys who work on the ship, nice personality from the chefs to the guys who was cleaning up behind us. My 5 year old loved the mini club just got up in the morning and was ready to go they really had a good time. My 1 year old love the play room filled with awesome toys to keep them busy. Loved the cruise and will do it again in future. Read Less

This was one of my bucket list items and what an experience my wife and I had fantastic that is how I will describe it I feel it is a must. The embarkation was handled so professionally MSC Staff you guys were great. The cabin where we were in very comfortable great stuff , although I feel the shower could have some improvement. The food was great 24/7 service no problem well organised and you dine wherever you really feel comfortable. Staff from various countries very helpful and respectful always a smile on their faces and I must compliment the staff who is keep the Sinfonia spotless everyday all day long. Great entertainment on and off the Sinfonia , my hi lite was the music in the Manhattan Bar great music great entertainment and people participate that was great to see. On deck various games for adults as well as kids , I will recommend anyone to go an experience this , it was fantastic I definitely will do it again and to crown it all my wife is cared of water or heights and she enjoyed herself tremendously. The Sinfonia Rocks. Read Less

The Seaside is absolutely beautiful but has many problems. If you want to wait for elevators and finally walk away and walk the steps this is the cruise for you. It only has CNN as news, intermittent strong smell of sewer in the halls(and more often in our stateroom), back to back cruises have exact duplicate of the 1st week in food and theater. The theater attendants cause huge disruptions as they continue to seat people even after the first song/act. Immigration pass through at end of 1st week took an hour and 1/2 due to MSC holding us in the hall for about 45 minutes before allowing us to returning to the ship. If you don't register your credit card within 48 hours, you have to settle your bill in CASH. They take lots of short cuts on the food in the buffet –lots---(no half-n half, creamer or real butter on last 2 days of cruise) buffets are 95-97% the same food every day and were crowded and very noisy. Lunch in the dining room always takes at least 1 hour and 45 minutes. No one encourages hand cleaner before entering buffet or dining room(it's available but people do not use it). Hand rails on stairs are rarely cleaned. All music in theater was recorded, no live orchestra, 3 of the shows were great the rest had super shrill voices/singing. Room steward and dining room attendant were great, wonderful. Since I visited the service desk often, I found several of the attendants pleasant but with their hands tied as far as positive results. Very disappointed after so much anticipation and excitement to sail with MSC on their new ship. Read Less

The suitcase was set aside without warning we were still obliged to go to the service desk. Little drawer, bedside table too small .... smaller room of all cruise ships. No storage space had to leave an open suitcase. The service desk always too busy ... and poorly located. Non-entertaining music in the middle of the ship. Their application MSC at sea does not show the current bill you have to go to the service desk again. The music plays very loud and we hear it very well from the room every night until 12:30. Do not take a room in the middle of the boat. The boat is new but it smells bad in many places in the rooms and corridors. Several passengers made complaints. The elevators are very slow and many are systematically out of order for two weeks. Lack of sunbeds when at sea and the weather is nice. Buffet very repetitive little diversified. Dining room well. The shows are very good at the theater. There is no free movie. Read Less

This MSC Sinfonia cruise was a 60th birthday gift to my wife. From the time we embarked, we experience awesome service as from previous reviews, we were expecting to be in long queues with embarkation taking hours. This was totally the opposite - we arrived early the morning, handed in our luggage, went straight through to the embarkation process and customs with a breeze - in all, the process took aproximately forty five minutes and our party started on the Sinfonia. Our room was clean and awesome. The public areas/toilets can be cleaned more often, however this was just a small issue. The other tiny issue was that we had to queue in the buffet areas, but this is also expected as I know that there aproximately a thousand people wanting to eat at the same time. We throroughly enjoyed the cruise and are planning/booking our cruise for next year. Well done MSC - we are certainly looking forward to cruising with you on the Musica. Read Less
