First Time Cruisers

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Bellissima

We chose this cruise as it was stopping at ports we wanted to visit on dates when we wished to be away. The Bellissima is a stunning looking ship and has something for everyone. Our cabin was on deck 10 midship and was lovely with a balcony, reasonable space and being a new ship did not show any signs of wear and tear. Our cabin steward Genesis was attentive, friendly and always happy to see us. ...

YACHT CLUB IS THE BEST WAY TO CRUISE

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Divina

wanted to try the yacht club experience and do not regret! The only thing we missed was an indoor pool or indoor Jacuzzi for the Yachtclub. We also found the yachtclub restaurant way to far from the yachtclub cabins. You have to walk all the way to the other side of the ship. Food was very fine, but not realy special. The gala night had a very simple menu. The waiters are very friendly in the ...

Great ports of call

Overall, this was an enjoyable cruise and I would sail on MSC again. My husband and I sailed with our 13 mo daughter and both sets of grandparents (in their 70s). We have all cruised several times on a variety of cruise lines. This was our first time on MSC. EMBARKATION: We spent a week traveling around Italy prior to making our way to Genoa, where we embarked. We found the locals in ...

Better than expected

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

Having had a big problem on the previous MSC cruise, we were not sure what to expect but went with an open mind. The ship is not as flashy as some of the newer ships, but makes up for it with a yacht type feel. There are fewer passengers than the larger ships, so no real problems with long lines. Every member of staff we met were fantastic and worked hard, I can't understand some of the ...

Good cruise but no wheelchair access provision

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaview

Having sailed with Princess, Celebrity and P and O, i am aware of how different cruise lines approach excursions and port transfers for wheelchair users. MSC rank in that respect amongst the worst. It is so disappointing as so far only P and O have taken this seriously. I knew that none of the excursions were wheelchair accessible before we went, but was very annoyed to find that none of the port ...

The Joy of Yacht Club Again

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Fantasia

Although I cruise more than 15 times a year, it is unusual that I took 3 cruises in Europe within the span of 30 days! The reason? I suddenly had some spare time and it is better -valued and trouble-free cruising than travelling on land. The first was a Mediterranean cruise on MSC Fantasia, from Genoa, on 16 September. I did not pay the cheapest but was glad to find a Yacht Club cabin at a ...

MSC again - Opera no more

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

For personal reasons we were forced to travel during the main holiday season this time. This resulted in some negative experiences, as the ship was fully booked as well as full with many families and children. Unfortunately today's parents seem to neglect the education and good behaviour very much. But to the journey. We chose this route because we did not know of any other port except Genoa. ...

Great cruise on MSC!

Mediterranean Cruise Vacation ex Barcelona on MSC Fantasia. We have previously sailed with Celebrity, RCL, and Norwegian in The Caribbean, Alaska and on the Pacific coast, and this was our first European cruise and first with MSC. We are a married couple from Chicago who traveled with two single friends and we had adjoining cabins. We chose the Yacht Club package due to the all-inclusive feel, ...

A great cruise for a great price

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Seaview

In mid July we made a Western Med cruise on the Seaview. The ship looked beautiful and was brand new. We had a balcony cabin above the smokers deck (deck 8). If you want a non smoking experience you have to avoid the balconies on deck 9! The pools are great, and waterslides were amazing! Our 6 year old daughter was given a wristband wich allowed her to go on all the waterslides! The ...

Overall great cruise but some disappointments...

This is a beautiful brand new ship, with absolutely loads of outdoor space and a fabulous 'boardwalk' outdoor eating area which wraps around the deck 8. Even though the ship was full, we can honestly say we never felt crowded. There were lots of children activities with the slides and bowling alleys and zippiness etc, but quite expensive... you could buy a package but bowling in particular we ...
