Disappointment

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on MSC Divina

30 of us cruise yearly. We chose the Divina expecting a quality, classy ship. Big mistake. The ship is huge but very understaffed. The waitstaff, cabin Stewart, etc.were great but overworked. Food quality was sorely lacking. We have never seen a thinner slice of "prime rib". You could almost see thru it! Lobster and shrimp were extra pay not included with dinners. We chose the 1st sitting for ...

A MIXED BAG!

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on MSC Poesia

Since both my husband and I are seasoned sailors, we tend to prefer smaller ships; however, the price for a trip to Bermuda was right so we decided to go on this cruise. Let's start from the beginning! Processing of passengers at the terminal proved to be a somewhat slow process in what felt like a huge warehouse facility. Photos were taken for I.D. purposes, then we hurried up and waited in ...

MSC = My Seventh Choice

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on MSC Poesia

This was our ninth cruise overall, our first time with MSC. We cruised previously with Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, NCL, Carnival, and Holland America. After reading the reviews, we embarked with low expectations. Since we live in South Florida, getting to Fort Lauderdale was no big deal. We arrived at the Port Everglades around 11:00 AM. Embarkation was slow, but painless. MSC says ...

Disappointment on the Moody Blues Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Poesia

Sailing with the Moody Blues should have been the experience of a lifetime for this 'Superfan', and it certainly had its high points, but there were a lot of disappointments. Not all of the problems involved the cruise line, and that will be taken up with the promoters, but..... We four were promised a VIP cabin with two queen beds. You can imagine when four women walked into the tiniest ...

Fine ship wasted on staff and food

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on MSC Poesia

we took a themed cruise (monsters of rock) to the bahamas on board the MSC Poesia in March 2013. we read the reviews on here prior to taking the cruise, but, since the theme chose this vessel, we lacked an alternative. If we had a choice, (based on the other reviews) we would have gone with something different. That we had to pay, to tell you firsthand only adds salt to the wound. The issues we ...

MSC - never again

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Poesia

We sailed on the MSC Poesia on Feb 2nd to the Western Caribbean. We have been to these ports before, except for Falmouth, so we mainly took this cruise to experience MSC. We heard their ship was beautiful, and that is exactly all we got, a beautiful ship. Embarkation: we are glad this time we chose to have a relative drop us off. The terminal they use is complicated. You have to walk around to ...

My wife and I sailed on the MSC POESIA around the Caribbean for 2 weeks starting 02/02/2013 for my 70th Birthday treat. I have tried to be honest and fair with my comments to help other travelers in forming their own opinions as to which Cruise to take......MSC POESIA, Well where do you start? Firstly MSC do not cater for the UK market. All Entertainment, and food, are only catered for the ...

I wanted to share my observations from our recent cruise of the MSC Poesia. We traveled December 1-11, 2012 and were in cabin 10126. We are experienced travelers and this was our first cruise with MSC. We were asked by friends to join them for our wedding anniversary and in total there were five couples traveling together. It is always helpful when giving feedback to start out with positive ...

MSC Poesia, stay away

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on MSC Poesia

Good things: Cabin size is adequate, Nice decor, pizza is great, child does not pay (not a kids ship). Bad things: Ship is noisy in many areas and it rocks a lot, if you have motion sickness, stay away. I did not know you could be hungry on a cruise ship. Dining area have short opening time. The buffet area that should be open all the time is closing at 21:30. Meal can be really good one day ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on MSC Poesia

We've been on (22) cruises from the "booze" cruise to a twelve day European Adventure. Our first experience with MSC was last January 2012 on this same ship. The ship is very nice and well maintained, with the best cigar lounge I've ever seen. Back then the dining room staff was very experienced and professionally attentive. Now to our last experience last week on the Poesia. Same ship, same ...
