we took a themed cruise (monsters of rock) to the bahamas on board the MSC Poesia in March 2013. we read the reviews on here prior to taking the cruise, but, since the theme chose this vessel, we lacked an alternative. If we had a choice, (based on the other reviews) we would have gone with something different. That we had to pay, to tell you firsthand only adds salt to the wound.
The issues we ...
After reading all the negative reviews and comments, I was a bit apprehensive about what my booked cruise would be like. Wonderful Cruise!!!! Staff was friendly and tried to help me with whatever issues or questions I had. The cabin crew was great and responded to any questions or requests I had, like extra pillows etc. The dining room staff was professional and extremely friendly and ...
I saw an ad for the Moody Blues cruise on an email I received from a site that keeps me informed of all the Moody's happenings. I thought, man, I'd love to do that. It would be a once in a lifetime experience. You see, I'm not a "well to do". My usual entertainment is tent camping and hiking.
To do this would be a huge life event for me. It wasn't just a matter of choosing where to take my ...
This will be a slightly different review as we were on a theme cruise and not a regular sailing. In other words, there are some things that I cannot rate on behalf of MSC because they were not under MSC's "control." This was a Moody Blues cruise, featuring the band along with several other performers, and for a theme cruise it was fantastic. Lots of music all the time (except when the ship was ...
The music was phenomenal on this cruise. The service was pretty darn good too. We ate in the main restaurant each evening and probably because a lot of travelers chose not to eat there, the service was quick and pretty much mistake free. A few of the items were not that tasty so we just did not eat them and got something else. Lunch buffet (and late night buffet) were quite good. Because ...
I read lots of reviews of MSC, and the Poesia specifically, after I booked the Moody Blues cruise. If you've read any yourself, you know there are quite a few very critical reviews, so I was a bit concerned.
Fortunately, the ship thoroughly exceeded my expectations. MSC Poesia is a beautiful ship and in excellent condition. It's bigger than I'm used to, so it's easy to get lots of walking in. ...
As a first-time cruiser, I have to say that MSC not only met but highly exceeded my expectations! I was worried about all the negative reviews I'd read before I booked with them but I never encountered anything less than exceptional during my stay. From the moment we hopped aboard, we were greeted with welcoming, friendly staff.
Our room assistant, Claude was very sweet and polite. Our room ...
This was my 12th cruise, and the first I have bothered to review. The 7
Princess, and 3 NCL cruises were great, and the Costa was a train wreck. So I took the MSC Poesia cruise with a little trepidation (Costa and MSC are both Italian lines). My father and his wife took a trip on the Poesia over the 2013 new years holiday, and were impressed. With over 30 cruises under there belts I trusted ...
We couldn't wait to go on this classic music cruise, we looked forward to it for months. The overall talent was tremendous, and the highlight of the cruise. Greg Lake's show was fantastic, and to me The Zombies stole the whole show with their stunning poolside outdoor performance.
The food was mediocre but we really didn't care, we were there for the music and The Moody Blues. However, the VIP ...
We sailed on the MSC Poesia on Feb 2nd to the Western Caribbean. We have been to these ports before, except for Falmouth, so we mainly took this cruise to experience MSC. We heard their ship was beautiful, and that is exactly all we got, a beautiful ship.
Embarkation: we are glad this time we chose to have a relative drop us off. The terminal they use is complicated. You have to walk around to ...
