First MSC cruise - Apprehensive but pleasantly surprised!

We were put off by the numerous negative reviews about this ship, but for the most part we were very pleased with the cruise. The food in the dining room was excellent, plentiful, and the service was perfect - waiter and other wait staff were very attentive - don't know how they manage it with so many people to serve! There were many wonderful choices for dinner, and the food was well prepared, ...

Customs/Check in: no problem it lulled me into a false sense of security. Emergency drill: started to notice the language barriers between passengers and staff. Also started to realize how European this ship was from the inception of the drill. I questioned doing the drill so early what happens to the rest of the passengers that were not on board yet... the first of many disconnects. First ...

Mixed reviews - great ship, some things are lacking

We booked this cruise early back in September 2009, before reading any reviews. Once I read the reviews, I dreaded the possibility of a horrible vacation, however we decided to keep our minds open and see for ourselves. This is our second cruise, the first with MSC. Our previous cruise was in the Western Caribbean with NCL, so this for me that was the benchmark. This is an honest and unbiased, ...

I would first like to say that after reading the previous reviews, I was worried about the cruise my wife and I had booked. After spending a week on the MSC Poesia I can honestly say that except for some things that need definite improvement, this cruise was very enjoyable. I would like to start by saying that our travel agent out did herself with getting a very good price on this cruise. For ...

The MSC Poesia (Feb. 13-20) was my 7th cruise with it being the 6th in a 6 yr time frame. The ratings are: 1. Princess (2005); 2. Costa (2007); 3. NCL(2009); 4. Disney (2006); Celebrity (2008); and lastly MSC (2010)and Carnival (1993). My rating them was based on price, customer service, children's programs, ship cleanliness, and safety. The GOOD: The MSC Poesia is fabulously beautiful and ...

THE GOOD: We did the Pre-Embarkment Registration on line. It really speed-ed up the process. The ship is gorgeous.Very clean. We constantly saw someone cleaning the ship. Our cabin stewards was wonderful. On time with everything. We asked for extra pillows. NO problem. While traveling with three other couples, they had a different cabin steward, when we arrived in Grand Cayman our steward was able to ...

Family and I (three teenagers + my husband and I) cruised on MSC Poesia on Feb. 6 to the Western Caribbean. I'd read some of the reviews beforehand and so, was wondering a little what it would be like. It was great!! The ship was beautiful and very clean. My family and I loved the food also. We ate in the dining room every night, and the food and the service was great. Our waiter, Chris, was ...

This was our 17th cruise. We have been on RCL, HAL, NCL, Celebrity, CCL, and Costa. Until this trip I thought "who in the world could complain about a cruise?" Well, I found out. MSC did a lot of things right. The Poesia is the most beautiful ship I have ever been on. Everyone comments on how clean it is. Since all the ships I have been on were very clean, it is hard to imagine without seeing ...

Our Winter Caribbean cruise aboard the MSC Poesia was wonderful; one of our best experiences ever . We've been cruising since 1972! The ship is beautiful and very well run with an excellent Indonesian crew and Italian officers. The theatre shows were awesome. Having Baseball Greats on board and interacting with enthusiastic passengers was fun! Since we visited five port, all with fascinating ...

After my family booked this cruise I started reading the reviews - and got scared. But its better to be prepared then not, I always say. I had cruised previously only 3 times, my husband never and my parents have lost count (seriously!) So this review encompasses three different points of view from people 45 and up. Embarkation - the best and the most organized I or my parents have ever seen. The ...
