Let me just say that I have been on more than 30 cruises and 10 cruise lines and this was by far the worst boat and cruise company I’ve ever gone with. Firstly, I walk into the room and I immediately got sick. I will preface this by saying that the boat is older (found out after booking) and I have mold allergies. I walked right to the bathroom and noticed that the shower floor was covered in mold. Our AC in the room also did not work properly and they were not able to fix it throughout the entire trip. Without the fan in the shower and without a working AC, the mold made me sick during the cruise and after. They would not move my friend and I and every time I asked if they could help, the only thing they did was have somebody throw bleach on top of the mold and attempt to fix the AC THREE times with no results. Firstly, that’s not how you fix mold especially more that’s over six months old.Secondly, going on a cruise to a hot destination and having some floors on the boat with no ac, I would not like to SWEAT in my room and be able to sleep well. Besides that, the set up of the room was what you would expect. Secondly, if you’re looking for a dining room that is flexible with what you’d like, good luck unless you get a suite and eat in the suite’s dining room. We felt like second-class citizens in the dining room compared to our friends who had stayed in a suite and were in the other dining room. We couldn’t get little side items and we couldn’t get a dinner as a smaller meal like you would be able to on Royal Caribbean and Carnival and other things of that nature. You could also tell the line was SUPER STINGY. A ravioli dinner had TWO ravioli. That’s an appetizer and when you asked for me, you had to pull teeth. My friend and I actually went to the buffet after the dining room most nights (we thought it may get better). Thirdly, no one knew the wine policy. Long story short, don’t carry it on unless you only want it the last night. You have to put it in your checked bag onto the ship. Positives: lots of dance lessons and the gym was what you need to stay active on a cruise. The state room housekeepers were also quick and efficient. Read Less

It started with the farcical embarkation protocols they have in place at Cozumel, Mexico. Their documentation states boarding is from 12 noon. We arrived to find a line of people on the pavement of s busy road. One person was trying to check people’s information and the line just continued to grow and spill out onto the street. Why only one person ??? Once we got through that road block we were directed to go through to the dock where 4 more people finished the check in process but then we still couldn’t board until 1.30pm. What a shambles. The disappointment continued. Our cabin was tiny. A lot of the staff were very disinterested with a few exceptions, the worst being on the service desk. The food was mediocre and the Entertainment even worse. Some of the public areas including the library stink of cigar smoke. Everything from drinks to excursions are priced exorbitantly in Euros. We found the food in the dining room uninspiring except for the formal night when the kitchen seemed to have made an effort. The fact that they charged even for ordinary water in the dining room as well as in our cabin seemed petty. The entertainment onboard was definitely B grade compared to other cruises we have been on. Their version of Masterchef was boring. The same few old movies were looped continuously on the TV in our cabin. The library stank of cigar smoke. Except for Havana which was a wonderful place to visit, the other ports were pretty boring unless you are a water baby who loves the sun and surf. The only reason to subject yourself to this cruise line is they are the only ones that offer a 2 night stopover in Havana, Cuba and that was worth putting up with the rest.started with the farcical embarkation protocols they have in place at Cozumel, Mexico. We booked this cruise for our honeymoon which wasn't even acknowledged. We were very disappointed. I got food poisoning on my third day on the ship. I only ate on board so it was definitely from the ship and I had also seen people prior to me getting sick walking around with bandages covering where drips had to be inserted for people who had food poisoning. The ship did not enforce the use of the hand santizers. People just walked past the staff spraying them. I had to remain in my room for 24 hours and was given 45€ credit as I was cabin bound. I therefore missed a hole day of my honeymoon and wasn't right for a good few days after. When we approached reception at the end of our stay we produced the letter stating we has 45€ credit due to me being sick which we received from the doctors surgery on board. We had so much hassle to get it honoured with the reception staff stating they had never seen it before. This wasn't our first time dealing with reception staff we had to deal with them on our second day on board as our card had ran out of money. We had a total of €80 gratitudes by day two which can be paid at your own discretion ...we dread to think what our bill would of been by the end of the week. We also had to deal with them as our Wi-Fi package wasn't working. The female staff at reception were so rude and so unhelpful. Our cabin attendant on floor nine was an absolute pain. He thought nothing of knocking on our door at 10-11 pm at night. The entertainment was awful. The acrobats were good but that was about it. The excursions on board were very expensive too. We would not recommend this ship. Read Less

Our first cruise, we knew we were compromising some of the things we had been tipped off about, but wanted to spend time in Havana over the Xmas holidays. You don’t have to fly with MSC via Madrid, we booked directly with Virgin. Generally we were pleased. The ship was very clean, some of the staff delightful and food and drink packages good value, although by the end of the cruise we couldn’t face another 3/5 course dinner or cooked breakfast ☺️ We didn’t appreciate the ship did a bi weekly round trip, although it gave us plenty of time in Havana. Belize was charming, Roatan an experience, but Cozumel is a dump, it didn’t help that our trip to the pearl farm was cancelled - apparently due to possible storm - and we didn’t look forward to returning the next week! I wouldn’t get off the boat again! MSC should rethink, especially with such little time spent in the Cayman Islands. Costa Maya was much more pleasant. Montego Bay is nothing special! Our waiting staff Sunny and Analise were a delight and our cabin attendant John was very efficient keeping our room clean with fresh towels daily. Some of the reception staff and one of the Maitre Ds were quite abrupt, not handling our issues terribly well. Another receptionist Patricia was excellent. It felt as though the Italian guests were more favoured. We saw a couple of shows which were entertaining but didn’t care for all the noise and activities around the pool. Xmas songs were played constantly throughout the trip! Read Less

In my new Cruise I decided to try MSC and we wanted to have at least one stop in Cuba. The desapointment started when I bought the Ticket. A mispelling in my email and it was impossible for me to change anything in my reservation. Arriving in the cruise the check in, the informations are poor. The only thing the want is to sell you the drink package. The security instructions failed because nobody was there to give us the information. At least the security information about any emergency event should be taken seriously. Not even... The Cabin is actually ok. The shower is terrible, but most of the ships have terrible showers. During the fisrt dinner we figure out how desorganized this ship crew is. The restaurante is not big enough for all passengers, It took us more than 2 hours to have dinner. It was hard to find somebody that could talk english. In the first morning we went to see the excursions and the sound system didnt work. The lady that was there said it was her first day....so, we didnt get any information about any excursion. In the following morning, as usual, the people that have excursions leave early. The problem is the crew is desorganized. It took us 1 hour and half to leave the ship. Comming back, we asked to change the dinner hour to have a chance to eat properly. It was better, but the food is terrible. The drinks are not good. In the second day, again, another delay in leaving the ship. It cost us again another hour. In a stop that wasnt that long. In the last day, the ship left the dock 3 housr later and of course arriving late in next stop...it made us loose our ground transporation. Not even the shop ladies are in a good mood. In some days they didnt have towels forthe rooms and our toilet flush broke. We had to use a restroom in a Friends cabin. The enterteiament team is surprisely good. It was the only good aspect in the ship. The plays are good for such a small ship. The Entertainment team is very nice and creative. Read Less

I booked with MSC because my main intention of travel was to visit Havana and the price that MSC offered for 7 nights is very good !! I took the MSC Armonia from Cozumel to Cozumel, Mexico The boarding process in Cozumel is horrible since the shipping company does not open the check-in until after 1:00 pm so there is huge line of people waiting under the sun and heat of the island. I was surprised that the "cruise card" is delivered to you inside the ship in the cabin, in other shipping companies it is the first thing you get. The Armonia is an old ship that was "remodeled" recently but the years are very noticeable. Because the itinerary was almost 90% full, I did not have the opportunity to book a Suite with a balcony so my only option was in the Oceanview "Fantástica" cabin. In short, we were 3 passengers in a cabin which is horribly small and uncomfortable, especially the bathroom. The food is bad in general, there is nothing of variety in the Buffet and in the Marco Polo that is the dining room. The food is very "European" with small dishes and nothing like an American Buffet, if you are thinking taking a cruise and food is very important, definitively MSC is not the cruise for you. The shows are "good" although not excellent, there is no variety and it is always the same. The staff (Crew) is nice to dry ... especially the waiters they don't seen very enthusiastic about helping the guest because the answer is always..."It would be about 30 minutes for your Coffee because im very busy and the Specialty Coffee Section is at the other part of the ship" The wifi works fine. There are no specialty restaurants. As mentioned above, I chose this cruise only for the 3-day visit that I made in Havana. Read Less

Absolutly DO NOT GO to MSC Armonia or MSC cruises. The ship is very old, needs to be refurbished at all or get retired. When we sailed the sea was quite calmed but the ship moved a lot, some people even got move-sick. We’ve sailed in many other cruises of other companies before and I can asure you that we didn’t feel the movement. The entertainig activities and the shows were poor, except the classical musicians. The pool is very small, seemed dirty and, even though, was unexplicable crowded. Although our room was a suite it was like a regular balcony room in any other cruiseship, so you can imagine the tiny size of the interior rooms. They will try to get money from you many ways: snacks, minibar, non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, water on the minibar, ... and EVEN WIFI! It’s absolutly no sense that in the 21st century you can’t have public access to the internet, at list in the common zones, but you have to buy a 100€ access for a ridiculous slow web browsing and you can’t get access to your email. The food did absolutly not have quality, absolutly digusting breakfasts and snacks. Maybe the dinner and pasta was a bit better but still very low quality. The service in general was bad, despite some very nice people. We will not go in MSC again for sure. Read Less

We chose MSC as they were the only line to depart from Cozumel, a short journey from where we live in Mexico. Having trawled through a lot of quite negative reviews, we were not expecting an especially great experience in Armonia, but were very pleasantly surprised. The food is very good, the service excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. The ship is 65000 tonnes and has quite a cosmopolitan feel with a variety of nationalities of crew and passengers. We had an ocean view cabin which was clean and roomy enough for our needs. The cabin service was excellent, usually cleaned and tidied twice a day. Most evenings we chose the Marco Polo dining room, which had a very pleasant and varied 3 course menu every evening. The wines included in the "all inclusive" package were very drinkable and included 2 reds, 2 whites, sparkling and pudding wines. Service was very attentive and we did not have a single poor dish. The breakfast buffet was very nice - a good selection of fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast. On the few occasions we had lunch on the ship, the buffet was well stocked and the pizza and burger bars were very convenient. The entertainment team were fun and welcoming without being pushy, and the evening entertainment was OK too. Some of the musical acts were a little amateurish, although still enjoyable, and the burlesque/circus/gymnastic acts very good. We did not book any tours through the ship, as we prefer to do our own research and book our own tours. We enjoyed some fun tours in Havana, Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. Overall a great cruising experience with a very welcoming crew, great food and fun entertainment. The all inclusive drinks package is definitely worth it. We would definitely cruise with MSC again. We chose the itinerary because it leaves from Cozumel, where we reside. The ship is operated by italians but we only had contact with three older gentlemen who supervise the dining service as well as possible. Many of the service crew and front desk comes from Lithuania and other East European countries and their English is poor. The ship’s security personnel which controls the access are rough and unhelpful, exactly as the Cuban custom officers we unfortunately met. However, the Asian cabin service are kind and smile. The bar service is awful, mainly due to the system that makes the few waiters line up to get the drinks and obtain the checks. The All Inclusive plan should be named NOT all inclusive, since most of the items are sold as extras, such as the fresh juices at breakfast. The menu choices are limited and the buffet is passable. The Aurea Expérience was not worth what we paid. All in all, MSC CRUISES NEVER AGAIN!!! Read Less

i love cruises and have tried RC and Celebrity. I certainly had high standards but this cruise made me not want to ever go on a cruise. Service was among the worst things: always rude and with no service or hospitality spirit. I even argued with the people at front desk because they were REALLY rude. Next, food was truly disapointing, flavorless and always the same...no creativity. All shows and ammenities were like a re make of something else they had done before. They didn't care at all for costumer experience. Extremely expensive. Ugly interiors and boring spaces. Terrible experience at disembark and onboarding In general, all I wanted was for it to end. I wish I had never known this cruise. It was truly infamous and not worth it. The ONLY good thing about this ship is it stops in Cuba. If you have decent standards, this is not for you. AVOID IT.
