We cruised from 12/21/2023 through 12/30/2023 in Japan and Taiwan. Due to the winds, our departure got delayed by a few hours and as a result, there was only a technical stop in Osaka, at 11 PM, so that part was a bummer. Arrived port check-in 08.35 (our allocated check-in time 09.00). Well organised, but all rather laborious (Covid vaccination certs, PCR test certs, Passports, Photo ID, make copies of various certs). Boarded promptly in Dubai. Lovely ship, good sized cabin (upgraded to balcony). Hardworking staff, clean ship, entertainment crew friendly, funny and made great efforts to amuse everyone quizes,poolside dance etc. Theatre: lot opera, ballet, acrobats etc pulled out stops and had wonderful final show. Shanghai embarkation took 5 hours. During this time there was no contact from MSC staff no announcements, help with language difficulties, no refreshments of any kind, a nightmare start. I realise the process not controllled by MSC but on the other hand just felt totally abandoned by them. We took the cruise from Yokohama to Abu Dhabi, with many interesting ports on the route. The ship itself was nice and well maintained. The entertainment with the shows and in the bars was good.
