The good, bad and ugly of MSC Meraviglia

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

First, the good things about our recent cruise on the MSC Meraviglia. The ship is beautiful and clean. The room was very nice. It had everything we needed. The only complaint was the strong odor coming from the shower. It was a very strong and a pungent chemical-type odor. If you kept the shower door closed you could not smell it. Our waiter and assistant waiter were great as well as our ...

The Yacht Club service needs work

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

The Meraviglia is a huge ship and the Yacht Club is featured as a "ship within a ship". While there were many excellent experiences from sailing in this class, there were other elements that definitely need work. I was traveling with family and we had 4 cabins in the Yacht Club. I am an experienced traveler, mainly aboard Silversea, Seabourn and Viking and booked this cruise because my family ...

The internet was terrible and expensive. We had to get several visas, but few were actually needed. For example, we had to have a visa to South Korea to board the ship, but later we found that no one needed a visa to SK. MSC will not give me a refund for the unnecessary visa. We paid for a larger room that did not exist on that ship, with no refund in sight. Food was decent, but not great. Rooms ...

It was the first world cruise for msc. we had done two other world cruises with holland america and costa cruise. When we compered the msc cruise with the other two was very poor in several areas. Cost: we paid a lot more money for this cruise so we espected more. The cabin with balcony 9080 was very small and impossible to organize clothing and shoes. Food: the food in the buffet was ...

We have just completed o trip on MSC Orchestra from Dubai U.A.E to Fremantle. Trip was planned for 18 months with great anticipation. For the record we (my wife and I, both Australians) have traveled on a number of cruises with a variety of cruise companies over the years, so have some basic expectations. We are very disappointed with this MSC group. The good points:- - They keep the ship in ...

Dubai to Fremantle, VIA Asia and Australia east and southern coast. Total mess up from day 1 every day came new challenge, dining rooms like local food hall, noisy crowded, no organisation or class at all, eventually settled for buffet upstairs where chef and staff were a vast improvement. Nightly shows, all intros in 6 languages, the boring all the same no variety, people standing in from ...

Never again

What a disappointment. My partner and I had been looking forward to this trip with great anticipation for over a year, leaving from Dubai to Fremantle. Food was mediocre and never hot, especially in the cafeteria. The layout of the cafeteria was not well planned. In the dining room the staff were great but the food again was mediocre. Even a simple dish like a Nasi Goreng was a disaster. ...

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with this cruise. Whilst the staff were excellent in most departments the same can't be said about the Chef's in the main dining area. The food was a disgrace, raw chicken, fish full of bones, raw sausages, foreign body in food etc. Our complaints fell on deaf ears. There were 126 complaints at the 1st sitting one evening, our table walked out and ate at the ...
