Chose this cruise to enjoy Fall color and to see ports of call that would be primarily populated with "locals" at this time of the year. There were a significant variety of optional tours which we took advantage of. The tours were well managed and fun. Weather turned out to be very pleasant, which allowed for full use of outdoor activities on board and off. We extended our stay at the final ...

Cruise was OK. Not all ports of call listed were visited. Some changes were made. Port at embarkation was in Industrial Area and not within walking distance of anything. Very disappointed. Also, on arrival in New York, we docked in another Industrial area and had to be bused into the city which took up time we could have used for other activities. The ship was almost new so there was not any ...

Excellent Cruise through Eastern Canada

Chose the cruise because of interest in the ports of call and travel on the St. Lawrence River and Sound. Dining and service were excellent as usual. One disappointment was the change from PEI to Gaspe. I see that PEI is on the cruise for 2018. Shore excursions were generally good. Boston and NY were not as enjoyable because of the very heavy traffic. Viking also does an excellent job with ...

Inexperienced crew but beautiful ship!

We have sailed ocean cruises a lot and wanted a smaller ship that was quiet & customer oriented and hoped we had found the right combination BUT the food was not the best and the service poor in the Restaurant. The daily scheduling was not well planned. They had lots of enrichment programs but they were put on at bad times. The price of the cruise was on the high side but many things are included ...

We had been on a Viking River cruise and wanted to try an ocean cruise with Viking. This was our 14th cruise, the first with Viking. Not impressed. Cons: the food, the food, the food. The food was always cold. At the buffet at lunch, the hot food was cold, the food at dinner was cold, the nightly pea soup at 11:00pm was cold!! I complained, nicely, the first 3 days, it never got better. I ...

We went on this cruise to see Montreal and Quebec. The included tours of Quebec, Gaspe and Boston were very, very disappointing. We will not be taking any further Viking cruises in North America. If we decide to go on a Mississippi cruise, we will use the American Cruise line. The girl who handled our embarkation was the least friendly of the entire staff. The food was good but there were too ...

I chose this cruise because it docked in many ports I wanted to see. The scenery is incredible. We started in Montreal which is a beautiful city but the highlight was Quebec City where we just wondered the street feeling like we were in France. Because of a change to maximum ship speed by the Canadian Government we were unable to visit Price Edward Island. I was a little upset at first because I ...

We had heard excellent things about VIKING CRUISES from friends who had gone on them in the past. We were excited about the fact that our fare included one complimentary excursion in every port which is not the case on other cruise lines. Also very nice was that air fare to and from ports of embarkation and debarkation was included so that we didn’t have to make those arrangements! Embarkation & ...

The all-inclusive price makes sailing aboard a Viking ship or riverboat that much more enjoyable. One does not have to worry about how much more a meal or activity or entertainment would cost. The ship is constantly kept in immaculate condition inside and out. It was good to see our ship looking to clean and sharp when she was docked next to another cruise ship. Because the ship is not packed ...

Viking Sky--Another Winning Ship

Having been on 3 Viking River Cruises and one other Viking Ocean Cruise, we had high expectations for the ship, service and excursions and were not disappointed. We arrived in Montreal in the evening, the first day of the cruise and everything went very smoothly at the airport as there were numerous Viking reps there to check us in and lead us to the bus that took us to the ship. The embarkation ...
