We took this cruise because of 2 nights in New York City. Although never having sailed with Regent, we were pleasantly surprised. Excellent service by all staff. The ship was not full so staff had more time to visit with passengers. The captain, Serena Melani, was frequently out and about visiting with passengers. On the whole, our cruise from Montreal to Portland, Maine in September and early October, 2014 was everything that could be expected. Be careful on booking this ship. The service was excellent and the room was so noisy we could not sleep for nine nights. The room also flooded and it had to be dried for two days. We boarded in Montreal and the process was fairly smooth. The cruise staff helped those who were not able to board on their own (pushed wheelchairs, carried luggage,helped with umbrellas). The cabins were very large,walk-in closet,bathroom with 2 sinks,tub and separate shower. The ship is only 2 years old and very well appointed.
