We loved the itinerary for this cruise. All the ports sounded very interesting to us. This is our third cruise on Celebrity. The Solstice to New Zealand and Australia (2014), the Summit to New England and Canada (2016), and the Infinity to South America (2017). Even though this is only our third Celebrity cruise, we have sailed a minimum of at least 30 other cruises with other lines. The ship for this sailing was the Infinity, sister ship to the Summit. Overall the cruise experience was very nice. However, the ships overall appearance needs quite a bit of TLC. We noticed rust stains in many of the public areas, moldings that were not attached to the windows on the outside, carpet that had duct tape on a tear. These little things should not go unnoticed by the staff of the ship. The entertainment in our opinion has most definitely gone downhill. There were about three excellent entertainers, but unfortunately, there were acts that should never have been appearing. We know that cost is the major factor in running any business. Celebrity has a long standing reputation for being one of the cruise lines that excels on all levels. Unfortunately, on this cruise they did not live up to their reputation. On a positive note, we can't say enough about our cabin stewart. He was always around without you seeing him. He would know when we were not in our cabin, and it would be cleaned immediately. Whatever we asked him for or needed, he made sure we always received it. Zim Zim, thank you so much. A very special thanks to our Concierge Joel. He accommodated us in every way we needed. Since we had Select dinning, we just happened to get the best waiter around. Victor could anticipate any thing we needed before we knew we needed it. Victor you're the best. It would have been nice to see the Captain out and about more. I can count on two fingers that amount of time we saw him. On our New England cruise, our captain was a lady. Captain Kate as she is known. We have never had a captain on any other line like Captain Kate. She was approachable and very much a people person. She wouldn't wait until you approached her, she would always engage the passengers. We were so hoping that she could have been our Captain for this cruise. The food on the ship was slightly above average. We have noticed a decline of better cuts of meat, fish, poultry over that last few years. Being in the waters we were, the fish was just average or slightly below average. That was very disappointing. We feel the reason for this is how it was prepared. Fish needs to be cooked to individual orders (something that really isn't feasible due to the amount of people in the dinning room at one time). We realize that Celebrity is putting more time and money into their bigger newer ships, but they should not lose sight of their other ships and give them the TLC they deserve. PS: The embarkation for this cruise was changed to San Antonio, Chile Read Less

I had never been to Uruguay. This cruise connected with the Amazon cruise which we very much wanted to go on. I enjoyed Montevideo, but would have liked more time to explore. Very rough weather with very few ports. We were supposed to have 2 full days in Rio, but were very late getting in. We had to really cram in the 2 tours and sightseeing. Very disappointing with very little communication from the crew. Late Embarking and late most of the cruise. Balance of non-French speaking passengers was very low. No effort made to get us together. One couple ate with a table of people who spoke no English. They were very uncomfortable until they connected with other passengers. I have sailed with Ponant before and enjoyed the interaction with all passengers, but this cruise was very different. The passengers were NOT very friendly. 1 from UK, 3 from USA, 2 from Canada, 2 from Hong Kong. The rest were French. We were lucky to meet the English lady at the airport, who was traveling by herself. I would suggest a first night mixer for passengers with languages, other than French. Read Less

This is an 8 day cruise with three ( 2 consecutive ) sea days. I don't know why the crew insisted on keeping the lido pool roof closed during all sea days (despite of sunshine and 27oC) creating an awful combination of food smell + pool chlorine + workout sweat, and isolating the others decks (10 and 11) from all the pool parties and contests. Nobody in our party of 22 wanted to go there. The lido buffet has insuficient lines for all the crowd on sea days, and many lines are permanently closed. Water machine on lido never had ice. No pizza, no ice cream or sandwiches on lido. No fruit juice machines after 11 AM. After 22:30h, it is very difficult to find food, there is only one line open at a time by night. By the way, some of the Costa Cruise Line policies are not kind: no free tap water during dinner, no laundries, no towel huts on pool. On the other hand, I saw top theater shows, entertainment staff is very good and guest services solved all my issues quickly. Read Less

Everything was perfect. Excellent food. Wonderful organization. Nice service. Good rooms. Lot of activities. Clean. Ports and shore excursions were affordable but we like to tour alone with a small group of friends and try to avoid commercial tours. I did not travel with children and the ship was not full of children fortunatelly. In our case we did not want children on board as we wanted to feel comfortable as we are senior citizens. I would recommend this trip and want to tour again with this one or try other one as we would like to do SouthAmerica again with more time. Is huge and full of experiences . We love our stop in Buenos Aires but we got too short time for this lovely city. Cabin was not important for us as we are very active and we appreciate a lot the pool , the drinks, the nights and the excursions exploring by ourselves with locals. Read Less
