I had never been on a cruise before, so I read up a lot, and ended up having a great time.
The ship itself is obviously older, and the decor is a little dated, but it is well-maintained and kept clean. Food was fine, drinks were great, and service was excellent.

Okay this is my second cruise. My first was 10 years ago on the Carnival Ecstasy. I booked this cruise 2 weeks out mostly because I wanted to experience a Fantasy class ship again and it was a port that you can drive to from Kansas. My family chose this cruise due to the Mobile port location and timing. We were able to get onto the ship quickly with the faster to the fun program. Upon boarding the ship at 12:30pm our cabin was ready as promised and we were able to place our bags into the cabin and tour the ship. We have cruised on this ship 10+ time and will return for another cruise in October. This is the smallest of the Carnival ships. We enjoy having a fewer number of guests, shorter lines and frankly, just less people everywhere. We were on a specialty themed cruise, but because it wasn't a full charter we had the experience of both the charter & the Fantasy's normal trip. We had a great time traveling to Cozumel on the Fantasy. It rained the first day out but boarding was quick and well organized. The ship is older but well maintained. The staff was amazing and how they all remember everyone's name I will never understand. There were nearly 3000 people on-board but we never felt crowded.
