We sailed on the Elation August 2011. First of all, I am really disappointed that Carnival is leaving Mobile. The efficiency of the port was top rate. One of the best we've ever been too. It took us about 30-45 minutes from the time we pulled in to the bay to unload our car til the time we was on board sitting down for lunch. The garage on site was a nice plus. Background: Our party consisted of my wife and I with 2 childern(6yr old girl and 9yr old boy). It was our 3rd cruise. Also traveling with us was my wife's mother, her sister and a grandson (16yr old).

I enjoy Carnival. This was my second cruise with them. The Mobile port is easy to maneuver especially because there is only one ship that docks there. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown (it's the round building) They have parking available there for 55 dollars for a 4 night cruise which is about 15 dollars cheaper than the port parking. I'm not sure what cruise some of the other reviewers are talking about. We had a great time on the Elation. The service was great, our cabin steward knew our names after one day. There is a 15% gratuity at the end if you don't pay ahead of time, if you dare to go on this cruise, pre-pay. Some lady got a 200.00 US bill.The soda stickers for the kids were ok except when you dine in the dining rooms.
