I was disappointed on my Carnival Elation cruise taken last week (10/11). I've only been on 5 other cruises, some with Carnival, and did not appreciate having a buffet employee dole out my bacon alotment each morning (2 slices)- the only breakfast item they monitored, by the way. After a 7 hour drive to Mobile Alabama, from Nashville Tn, we arrived at the Port Terminal around 11:30am for Embarkation. Found the Cruise Line Parking Signs very helpful that were posted on the route in! We booked our cruise on the Carnival Elation at the last minute for Spring break 2011. We drove to the port of Mobile and prepared to board the ship. We booked a "funsaver" rate that they assign your room, NEVER do that!!!!!

We just got home from a 5 night cruise on the Celebrity Elation. There were 6 in our party - all adults and we were there to celebrate mother's 90th birthday. First of all, this was our 1st cruise ever. Went with great attitudes, left just ok with the whole experience. I myself am a 29 yr old female, traveled with 31 yr old husband, and 7 & 10 yr old girls.
We have heard alot of past crusiers talk, and in comparison, we both agree that we were either on the wrong ship, or maybe we're not "cruisers".

We cruised Jan 6-10th from Mobile Alabama, We had two days at sea and one day in Cozumel. I will not complain about the weather as obviously that is not under Carnival's control, but two days at sea when the temperature is only in the late 50's makes in unpleasant to sit out on the deck. Our room was always clean and the cabin staff were exceptional. The bed is pretty hard, but it was comfortable.
Cruise food should be better than it was on the Elation. The food in the dining room was served mostly warm/cold with the exception of the Caesar salad which was served warm/hot. The waiters were pretty poor and did a lot of ignoring of customers. My sister in law had to walk up ...
