After a 7 hour drive to Mobile Alabama, from Nashville Tn, we arrived at the Port Terminal around 11:30am for Embarkation. Found the Cruise Line Parking Signs very helpful that were posted on the route in! After a long process to get on the ship, which I have described in my "port" review, we settled in on the Lido deck, for our first DOD! Found the service, food and drink all exceptional!! Hooked ...

Crappy Cruise for the most part

Pre-embarkation was a bit rough, Plain signs in Mobile - tips not required, although we do tip I was a bit taken back by the porter that looked at the money I gave him and the number of bags like it wasn't enough. Food was nothing to write home about and the next nights menus seemed to have leftovers cooked in a different manner. Food was not hot nor tasty or exciting. I had read on cruise ...

Let me start by saying that this was my 7th Carnival Cruise. If this had been my first, it would have also been my last. I have had nothing but good things to say about Carnival in the past, but this Cruise did not meet my expectations. -Cabin The room had a very musty smell, and the bathroom had mold everywhere. When our luggage arrived, we stored our clothes and left. When we came ...

My family booked this cruise as a last minute summer vacation. This was my 10th cruise (3rd with Carnival). We cruised last summer out of New Orleans on the Carnival Triumph and had a great time, so we thought we'd go out of Mobile this summer. We drove to Mobile and spent the night at the Renaissance with the drive/park cruise package. I believe parking at the port for a week is $125. Our ...

We've cruised many times in the past and were supposed to be on a hiatus this year..until I saw a good price on this cruise and talked DH in to going for Mothers Day, birthday, anniversary, etc. I think this was our 9th Carnival cruise. Enough background, on to the cruise. We went to our cabin on day one to find the beds together and immediately found our cabin steward to tell him that neither ...

Elation out of Mobile, February 17-21, 2011 The Rock Show, musical was good. Miniature golf was fun, except having to check out clubs two decks below putting green. Room M15 was large, huge closet, big bathroom, very clean. The portholes were nice to wake up to. The quick grill on Tiffany was great, wonderful omelets, outstanding Ruben, and super turkey wraps. The chocolate buffet was ...

We cruised Jan 6-10th from Mobile Alabama, We had two days at sea and one day in Cozumel. I will not complain about the weather as obviously that is not under Carnival's control, but two days at sea when the temperature is only in the late 50's makes in unpleasant to sit out on the deck. In fact it was too windy and down right cold to be on the top deck for anything other than a fast walk- ...

We are from MO and had a 11 hour drive to get to Mobile, AL for our cruise. This was our second cruise with Carnival. The Elation was a smaller boat than the Conquest we took in Jan 2010. The only problem when we were trying to embark on the ship and trying to get into the parking garage. That was a huge headache. Once we got inside it was a breeze getting onto the boat. The lines moved fast. It ...

Not Elated about Elation

Our room was always clean and the cabin staff were exceptional. The bed is pretty hard, but it was comfortable. Cruise food should be better than it was on the Elation. The food in the dining room was served mostly warm/cold with the exception of the Caesar salad which was served warm/hot. The waiters were pretty poor and did a lot of ignoring of customers. My sister in law had to walk up ...

My family and I left on a cruise out of Mobile on September 20th. We are from Baton Rouge and decided to try staying at a hotel that had the park and cruise option. We were not disappointed with this decision. We stayed at the Microtel in Saraland. For $123 we got a very nice room with two double beds, continental breakfast, parking for the week and free shuttle to and from the cruise. It made ...
