It was my first time on a Spirit-class ship and I really think it's my favorite class I've been on. Even though it was a completely sold-out sailing, it didn't feel crowded at all. Most all the events we went to, we were able to get a seat without any problem - despite not showing up early. There was only one comedy show that we went to about 5-10 minutes before it started that was full and we ...
I was invited on this cruise by family it was my 1st time & I loved it. I would hear people say how small ship was but to me was huge!! The check in process was very smooth, the food was delicious, the best coffee I've ever had. The entertainment was so great. I had so much fun!! Every employee I came in contact with couldn't do enough to make sure I had everything I needed. The energy that ...
We are on day two of our Ecstasy cruise and everything is wonderful. We are in our late 60's with more than 10 cruises, and have no complaints. We have cruised on Princess, Holland, NCL and Oceania, and would compare this cruise to Princess and Holland. Yes the ship is old but everything is clean and up to spec. The carpets look new and you would not think this is the ship's final season.
I ...
We booked the Carnival Ecstasy 5 day sailing from Mobile, AL with stops in Costa Maya and Cancun. We could not pass up the low price. 1479 passengers about 73% capacity. There were no lines for anything. There were ALWAYS lounge chairs available except for directly next to the pool.
Although this is an older ship that is scheduled to be retired (scrapped) in the fall, it was well worth it ...
Having recently returned from the Eastern Caribbean aboard Norwegian Getaway, I can only say that, once again, we had another fine cruise aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line Vessel. Having sailed now on 17 cruises, 12 of them with Norwegian, one can only surmise our choice of favorite cruise line. We simply don't understand what all the "complainers" are talking about. From the easiness of the ...
First, it's a shame Carnival is leaving Mobile! It is such an easy place to get around and everyone is so friendly there. Hopefully someone else will move a ship there and the city can continue to show its friendly southern hospitality. This review will be long but we want to give you all as many details as possible.
PRE-CRUISE
We went down two days early and stayed at the Microtel ...
My husband and I went on our first cruise on the Carnival Elation. As most people do on their first cruise, we learned many things about Cruising on this trip.
A huge tip we could have used was to never book a cruise during hurricane season. Tropical Storm Lee started brewing in the Gulf the week before we were supposed to set sail and we did become a little worried that it might interfere ...
I read the reviews regarding the Carnival Elation, sailing out of Mobile and many were so much more negative than positive. I was completely ready to back out of the deal. Let me tell you - I am so glad that it is just other people's opinions and not facts!! Because we found all the negative remarks to be just simply be false!! The crew was fantastic and friendly. Our cabin steward got to know us ...
The Carnival Elation was a well designed and maintained ship. I decided to take a last minute cruise out of Mobile before Carnival pulls the Elation.
The Alabama Cruise Terminal was very easy access, park, and check in. Great job on the facility. The only downfall was returning. They definitely could use a bigger luggage area and more customs agents.
The past several cruises I've ...
We sailed on the Elation August 2011. First of all, I am really disappointed that Carnival is leaving Mobile. The efficiency of the port was top rate. One of the best we've ever been too. It took us about 30-45 minutes from the time we pulled in to the bay to unload our car til the time we was on board sitting down for lunch. The garage on site was a nice plus. We've never had a long wait or bad ...
