We arrived directly from the airport where Viking personnel were easy to identify and directed us to a bus for transporting us to the ship terminal. The check-in process was very efficient and informative. We were allowed to board the ship right away but not go directly to our cabin until 2 PM, which was fine while we checked out the ship layout and enjoyed the beautiful view and day from the ...
My wife and I are very experienced cruisers having been on more than 35. This was our first time on Viking Ocean Cruise line, Scandinavian and we were impressed by their very high ratings on River Cruises.and the fact they only carried a maximum of 930 passengers.
Check in was a breeze with 6 or 7 receptionists waiting for us instead of long lines. It is considered a luxury cruise ship and as ...
I chose this cruise because it is special since it is Viking’s Inaugural World Cruise and stops at some places I have always wanted to experience and it is adults only. The ship is beautiful with “the best of everything “ in all areas. There are several choices of places to have delicious meals. I have never experienced such service. The staff bends over backward (with a smile) to make sure you ...
Enjoying immensely our 141 day world cruise, which is Vikings first. First class in every way except the included shore excursions - so don't consider that shore excursions are included when weighing up if this is the cruise for you. You have to buy your port excursions through Viking or independently online unless you want crap and don't mind wasting your time. They may look great in print, ...
My embarkation experience was okay. I had no problems with my flights. My suitcase was damaged between the airport and the ship and delivery was delayed until quite late . I thoroughly enjoyed my time on board. I liked the decor and available amenities. I frequently walked on the decks and used the gym. I used many of the public areas throughout the day. I especially enjoyed the upper level ...
We chose this cruise primarily for itinerary which included Cuba and some ports my husband and I had not visited before. We had previously taken a Panama Canal cruise prior to the opening of the new section. Ship and onboard experience was excellent. But ports of call experience was below our expectations. At several locations it appeared we were assigned docking locations that were less than ...
Wanted to visit Cuba and love sailing with Viking so this was a good fit for us. Rated very good instead of excellent because we did not dock in Havana. Instead we were tendered in Cienfuegos, which is about a 4 hour drive to Havana. Viking offered an included overnight excursion to Havana which we did. We rode in a bus to Havana, visited an artist in their home, had a good tour of old Havana ...
we initially booked when we were docking in multiple ports and Havana so were disappointed with the Cienfuegos docking only for cuba. We weren't able to tender in key west due to rough seas but had been there multiple times as we live in the Miami area so that gave us an extra sea day pretty rough. The problem is that Viking doesn't offer much for sea days as far as activities and entertainment. ...
We have been looking for a way to get to Cuba for a while and this had mostly Cuba with the majority of the accommodations on the ship. (which was a good thing because the hotel in Havana did not have hot water the second day!) Cuba was amazing and the guide that we had for the overnight to Havana was great. The activities in Havana were well planned and that whole experience was great. The guide ...
I really wanted to rate this trip a 4.5.....
We had taken a Viking River cruise and wanted to try a Viking Ocean cruise. We chose the Cuba cruise, based on the itinerary which also included Belize, and were disappointed when we were informed of the itinerary changes 4 months before departure (Belize was dropped), however, we were more than satisfied with the options Viking offered to ...
