Wonderful Adventure

It was happening when we wanted to go, and to places that were on our bucket list. And we had previously been on a Viking River cruise . Which was totally outstanding. The ship was brand new, it was its maiden voyage. The restaurants on board were magnificent, there wasn’t a detail that was missed. I don’t think you could ever beat how terrific the crew was, it was like a family. And ...

Embarkation in Miami was disorganized. Our luggage from the hotel was put on two different buses and the port employed porters would not load the luggage until a tip was paid for each bag. The ship was beautiful and at no time did it seem crowded. Lots of areas to relax in a quiet spot when that is what you wanted. The stateroom was nice and the room steward was excellent. The food and ...

Viking has it nailed in every regard EXCEPT the included shore excursions.

Enjoying immensely our 141 day world cruise, which is Vikings first. First class in every way except the included shore excursions - so don't consider that shore excursions are included when weighing up if this is the cruise for you. You have to buy your port excursions through Viking or independently online unless you want crap and don't mind wasting your time. They may look great in print, ...

We have always enjoyed cruising with Viking. First with their river cruises and then Ocean cruise. We initially were skeptical about a 120 day ocean cruise but we were. very happy that we chose to take this cruise. I had some food allergy issues but the staff were very good to make sure my needs were accommodated. The staff of the ship were excellent. From the Barista who made us Capuchinos, to ...

We have cruised before on several lines and had loved our experiences river cruising with Viking but a World Cruise was an entirely new experience for my sister and I. The itinerary was wonderful and covered several countries we had not yet traveled to. It looked like a spectacular adventure so we said yes and booked.Viking exceeded expectations in every way possible! The crew was incredibly ...

Wonderful World Cruise

We've always wanted to go on a world cruise (150 days) - and we had heard such wonderful things about Viking. Also, the Viking Sun was a new ship with modern electronics. The ship was a smaller one with less than 1000 passengers, which was great for us. All the appointments on the ship were clean, new and comfortable. A goodly number of dining venues was available and all were very good. The ...

We have traveled on several Viking River Cruises in Europe that are fantastic. Friends raved about a cruise in the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas on the Viking Star. One look at the web shots of the Viking Sun convinced us to take the three-week cruise from Miami to Los Angeles. All of our expectations were exceeded. Transfer from the airport to the ship was efficient. Boarding took about 10 ...

We took the 141 day cruise because it hit most of the places on our bucket list and it was in celebration of our retirement. The ship was quite nice and our cabin was spacious enough. But after 4 months we started to get bored with the menu, it had been repeated once already. The activities were getting humdrum as well as the entertainment. At the beginning of the cruise, there was a great variety ...

The Viking Sun is a beautifully designed ship. It is a combination of class and simplicity. Even with 900 plus passengers on board we found few occasions where crowding was a problem. The port selection was very good. Although we had been around the world two years earlier, there were a lot of ports we had not visited. We loved seeing the pyramids, Shanghai, Sydney and Singapore just to ...
