Worst managed ship I've ever been on.

Review for Carnival Horizon to Caribbean - Southern

This ship was built for 3,960 guest. After boarding we found that 4,400 guest we on board. Long lines for food, entertainment, not enough lounge chairs and we were enroute to Aruba, for 2 days. After getting back from excursion there was no food. It was a hurry up and wait for anything the entire cruise. Over crowding in the limelight lounge for music and dancing was bad but the they ...

Amazing Cruise Experience, Upgrades a MUST

This cruise exceeded any of my wildest expectations. Treating yourself to the Havana Suite is well worth it to avoid the busy pools and crowded bars. Luis at the Havana Bar is the kindest, most welcoming presence to start your cruise experience. The Cheers package is well worth it if you plan on drinking 5 or more drinks a day (water bottles included!!!). Carnival Horizon has some of the best ...

Changed Port w/o rhyme or reason. Bumped Bonaire to Grand Cayman.

I chose RC for the destination ports. I like Scuba Diving and wanted to go to Bonaire to dive. RC changed the port without any reason. I lost the deposit on my diving excursion I made on my own since RC diving excursion were booked. The AC in the room was hot. Reported it however tech did not fix it. I purchase the drink package however the quality of the drinks were substandard and very little ...

We had a balcony room with an EXCELLENT Cabin Attendant! We had my time Dining but---you need to "read between the lines. Luckily, we were able to reserve our time and table and walked right in every night but the first---TIP: reserve your table for the same time and your wait staff---no waiting this way! Wait staff was great---Very short staffed though! they will take care of you! Canceling ...

Cruise Experience Needs a Tune -Up: Rating C-

Review for Explorer of the Seas to Caribbean - Southern

The cruise: I am giving the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas Experience a C-. This is why: The food was basic and unflavorable. I don’t think that is a word, but they need to adjust seasonings and flavorings. The deserts offered in the Windjammer where the buffet is served, all tasted the same: sponge cake with shipped filling; small cups of whipped toping and a fruit topping, cookies were ...

First post COVID cruise, 2 years in the making

This cruise was two years in the making. It was our sixth cruise and sixth Royal ship. We booked this in May 2020 for June 2021 when prices bottomed out. Itinerary was originally: Labadee, DR, Anitgua, and St. Lucia (I think, it has been a while) on Independence. We booked this cruise because the price was phenomenal for an 8-day, and new ports of call. Of course, this was cancelled, and we ...

Still a great RC experience, but this ship has needs.

The Explorer of the Seas is a beautiful ship. We loved the coziness of it. Embarkation was a cluster and many waited a long time! Lack of staff was part of the issue. Dining each night took 2 solid hours, and the food was not RC's standard. We were told that the ship was extremely low on staff, and other staff were pulled into dining to cover. One night, the kitchen was down 20 staff. ...

The ship is very, very tired and in need of a major overhaul. Rust all over the place especially at the balconies. Itinerary changed 3 times before we sailed. Even RCCL survey at the end of the cruise wanted us to review a port we did not even go too. My Time Diners had to wait over 2 hours to be seated. Food was very inconsistent and way below RCCL standards. Some venues were not open for diner ...

Absolute nightmare!

Review for Carnival Horizon to Caribbean - Southern

This was supposed to be a beautiful destination wedding/family cruise. Thanks to Carnival Horizon, it was the most horrendous experience of our lives! From day one there were drunk, foul mouthed, noisy people running around the ship into the wee hours of the morning making it impossible to sleep. We were forced to get dressed and go directly to guest services to complain because no one would ...

We chose this cruise because of the value and the ports (Grand Cayman, Curaco and Aruba) are some of our favorites. The itinerary changed a couple of times, but it ended up great for us. First and foremost, our room steward Danny He was very understanding of our specific desires for the cabin, he exceeded expectations in every way. He is patient, very friendly and extremely accommodating. ...
