Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Crystal Serenity

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

We were excited but apprehensive. We had decided not to sail the Symphony again because of the age of the ship and the HVAC issues. Given that this was a newer ship we decided to take the Jan 5 Caribbean cruise as we truly missed sailing on Crystal (had gone on over 35 segments). The positives: Rooms have been nicely redone and we paid up for the Sapphire suite which was spacious, well ...

Beautiful ship that needs SOME improvement to be a 5 Star Cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explora I

Before I get into details and such, we would like to state that we enjoyed the cruise immensely. Most of my critical comments are in the area of food and human factors, which are subjective. We have another cruise scheduled for next January on Explora II. (Overall, 4 Stars). We still think that Regent is a far superior brand to Explora, but it’s still nice to have a choice. Embarkation. ...

Loved it but room for improvement

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Explora I

This was our first cruise post lockdown, and we were keen to try this new line as our old favourite, Crystal, went bankrupt. Goal to compare Explora with past experiences on Regent and Silversea, and with “new Crystal” (upcoming). We were not disappointed and would definitely sail with them again, but there were a couple of significant areas where we need them to improve if they want to be at ...

Good Cruise to the Amazon

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

My wife and I just finished a 25 day cruise to the Amazon River in Brazil on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner. We are in our mid 60s and have cruised over 30 times mostly on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. This was our first “luxury cruise”. The itinerary was round trip Miami with many stops in the Caribbean and 3 days up the Amazon River to Manaus, Brazil. Everything was included in the fare – ...

We set off on the World Cruise. Pros: Gorgeous, Great Itinerary, a + for staying late in ports, Nice staff, The garden theming and bird chirps around the indoor pool are amazing Cons: The steak is the worst steak Ive ever had on a ship. Rubbery in textture and salted to the max.It is so bad that the only meat I eat is the Roast Beef. - Shame on the World Cruise for not converting an area ...

What has happened to Oceania?

Review for a South America Cruise on Sirena

Oceania has always been my favorite cruise line. The last two cruises have changed my mind. I traveled on Insignia in August and Sirena in November. On both cruises I missed what I had become accustomed to on Oceania which was tremendous food, attentive service and kindness/concern from the officers and staff. What I saw recently are over stressed workers who are stretched very thin, a decline in ...

Ship was excellent, but why could we not cancel due to situation in Peru?

Review for a South America Cruise on Seabourn Quest

Cruise review, Seaborne Quest, January 2023 My wife and I took this cruise from Miami, through the Panama Canal, down past Peru, and to Chile. Overall, the ship was excellent with no complaints about the food, the drink, the service, the facilities, our stateroom. In many ways it reminded me of the “old” Seabourn before COVID-19 and even further in the past. My wife and I particularly ...

Great Itinerary for Panama Canal and South America

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Oosterdam

We choose this cruise for the itinerary. We had previously been on the Oosterdam and like this size ship. One thing to know about South America, is that most of the ports are industrial ports and require a shuttle to the cruise port entrance for any independent tours and in Buenos Aires, all passengers including those on Holland America Tours. Just keep this in mind when choosing the starting ...

Ship good, a little short on crew, 3rd world excursions somewhat of a trial

My wife and I wanted to go thru the Panama Panel, and see Macho Picchu, which this cruise covered nicely. Missed the political upheaval in Peru by about 2 wks, so lucky there. Traveling to 3rd world countries, Ecuador and Peru, is always a worry, so we had purchased a Medjet membership for the voyage, plus the optional extraction for political upheaval. Fortunately we didn't have to use, but ...

Great Panama Canal trip

Panama Canal on our bucket list, awarded thru Casino for interior room so good opportunity to do this with small discount. I was hesitant going with another NCL bigger ship since our Thanksgiving Cruise on the get a way wasn’t that good. This ship however was a pleasant experience; the staff across the entire ship were welcoming, always greeting guests. I enjoyed the layout on this ship so much ...
