Fool me twice, shame on me!

Review for a South America Cruise on Marina

We spent 39 days on the Marina (back to back Miami to Lima and Lima to Buenos Aires) and so happy to finally make it home. The cruise had a few wonderful highlights separated by long boring stretches. We have cruised 20+ times but only our second time with Oceania. The first was in Asia in 2016 and all that could go wrong did. All the regulars told us this was out of norm and that Oceania ...

Over promise and under perform

Review for a South America Cruise on Marina

This cruise line not only fails to live up to promises but also fails in its communication with passengers. One is treated as a commodity not a person by many, not all, staff. It seemed the more senior the more they under performed. Complaints on board were met with a blank stare or excuses not explanations or apologies. Food was poor to ok, with worst in the specialty French and Italian ...

Oceania is no longer the great cruise ship company it used to be.

On december 26, 2022, the captain ran the ship into a sandbar on the amazon river. we lost all power (while i had just put shampoo in my hair in the shower). we also lost all water. we heard nothing from the bridge once emergency (and very limited) power came back on -- but not in our cabin. the ship dropped anchor --- i'm guessing to stop us from drifitng onto the shore or in the paths of ...

Worst Cruise We Have Ever Experienced

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Insignia

Normally, we have had no issues or problems with Oceania, but this cruise was different. First, the cruise itinerary was changed three days before we travelled canceling a place we wanted to go. Then four days into the cruise, the itinerary was change again dropping two countries and three ports from the cruise entirely. There was no compensation offered and we had 8 days at sea on a 16 day ...

REVIEW OF "GATEWAY TO SUNSHINE” CRUISE" We just returned from the Oceania “Gateway to Sunshine” sixteen-day cruise that started in Miami on December 21st, 2021. It would be a vast understatement to say our experience with this cruise was disappointing. We booked this cruise in late August primarily because of the impressive number of destinations it offered: Miami; Georgetown, Grand ...

Loved the intiniary going to columbia, peru and Chile . My husband had hurt his ankle and needed a wheelchair at embarking we waited 6 hours with other handicap and no wheel chairs came. One 95 year old was carried on by a family member. Food in dinning room was cold, many tasteless and service was to long. We missed four 7:30 shows even though we got to dinning room at 5. We asked for ...

First and Last Azamara

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

We chose Azamara, primarily because we wanted to go to Peru in the month of November. We had primarily cruised with Oceania before, and since this ship is from the same previous Renaissance line, we had familiarity with the ship. Sadly, that’s where the similarity ended. Before I begin with the reasons we won’t consider Azamara again, let me note that our room attendant Dyna was fabulous, ...

I am rewriting this review to insure that unsuspecting customer read an accurate accounting of our experience with Norwegian Cruise Lines. We all expect that such an adventure will not be “perfect” but seriously this company is the worst. With 20 cruises under our belts with Princess and Celebrity we were lured away by the enticing itinerary. Check in was pretty much the same old thing although ...

Marketing gone wild

Review for a South America Cruise on Azamara Journey

Somewhere between the Marketing Department at Celebrity and the reality of the ship there was the most massive of breakdowns I have ever seen. Advertised as a "Crystal Light" it would be an embarrassment to Carnival so no telling how it being played in Miami headquarters. The good stuff first. Check in was a breeze, the cabin was compact but adequate, the balcony made for two only. The hot water ...
