Refurbished Riviera ship

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Riviera

This was my 4th cruise on the Riviera. I was delighted by the cabin refurbishments. The newly modeled bathroom was perfectly done. I was in a regular veranda stateroom on the 7th floor. Where the bathtub used to be is now a beautiful huge shower. Where the old shower used to be is now 4 huge drawers under a countertop. The bedroom has a ton more storage then it used to have. We actually had ...

Overall our cruise was great. Entering the port of Miami, it looked hectic but Oceania, the last terminal, was very easy. We brought our 2 kids, they are 23 & 24, and although not a 'kid' cruise they were fine. As advertised, the food was terrific. Even our daughter, who is a Vegan, had plenty to choose from. The portions were the right size enabling us to easily have all the courses. All the ...

Our Oceania Riviera cruise was the second one in 2 years and the first being back with Oceania. Without any doubt, this is our favourite ship and cruise line. The Riviera is as beautiful as ever, especially the very well done enlargement of Baristas (deck 14). It has been converted to a high class confiteria style a la Buenos Aires of the 1960’s. It is now a destination rest stop rather ...

A very pleasant cruise on a delightful ship

Oceania Riviera Cruise – Caribbean Feb. 4 – Feb. 14, 2020 Why this cruise? Out of our 41 ocean cruises, we had done 8 on Oceania vessels, and greatly enjoyed their small size, excellent food and general high quality of service; as well as good itineraries. Riviera is the same size as Oceana Marina, with 1250 passengers, and about twice the size of the four other ships in their fleet. But we ...

Not as Good as Before!

We have had excellent trips on Oceania and were on the Riviera three years ago. We had particularly enjoyed the food and the very excellent service from a dedicated and well trained staff so we eagerly chose Oceania/Riviera again. Unfortunately, Oceania had been bought over by NCL recently and the change in management was very evident. The food was still very good to excellent, the cabin ...

Almost perfect!

With the mainstream ships getting bigger and bigger, we decided to think small and are very happy we did! The Riviera's the perfect size, food is exceptional, service is outstanding. And we like what it doesn't have - no screaming kids, hairy-man contests, climbing walls and so on. The ship's decor is low-key, elegant rather than glitzy with some very unusual works of art. Come to think ...

Caribbean snorkeling cruise. Great space in the penthouse suite. Chose for the itinerary but wish they stayed longer in Bonaire. Did not like that we had to wear a life preserver is when taking the cruises excursion to snorkel. Food was quite good but wish there was more variety as 12 days I would’ve liked to seen different choices. Overall Oceania did a great job with organization embarkation ...

Enjoyable but not the best

We chose this one over one that we had booked on the MSC Seaside because it included a stop in Cuba and one other country that we had not been to before in the Western Caribbean. We (my wife and I) also had her two brothers along for a much needed vacation and we had wanted to see if Oceania cruises would live up to all the hype especially their cuisine. The food was very good, among the ...

Decent Cruise Experience

We booked this cruise because of the itinerary. It was a 14 day mostly southern Caribbean Cruise. 2 sea days out of Miami and two sea days coming back at the end with 8 stops in between and 5 of those were places we had never been to. The stops were all mostly great, except for 2 I would not go back to/ Riviera is a larger size ship in the Oceania line up but still pretty small in comparison to ...

Nice but experience has deteriorated

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Riviera

I prefer cruises to interesting destinations. Caribbean cruises involve visiting tropical flea markets, but we enjoy the shipboard experience. We took an Oceania cruise to Alaska 6 months earlier and enjoyed it very much. The food quality in the main dining room was not as good as our Alaskan cruise. It deteriorated markedly. The food quality and menu selection were disappointing. The ...
