Amazon, a buzzing river without the mosquitoes.

Review for a South America Cruise on Regatta

The wonderful people and natural beauty of indigenous animals, birds, fish, plants, well worth the experience. The Regatta and crew come through every time, it is more like family, though we may be the family members requiring intervention. LOL Captain Hansen, Cruise Director Corey, and our Butler Rahman, were very personable, attentive to the guests, and thoroughly kept everyone updated. As ...

Outstanding service but disappointing food and shore excursions

This was a spur of the moment decision made 3-months before embarkation. A deeply discounted price and exotic destinations on the Amazon River got us to book. We were not even considering a 2017 cruise. My wife and I have been on 16 cruises, most on Silver Sea and Quark Expeditions--quite a range. We made one prior Oceania cruise on the Insignia that was quite nice, leaving us well disposed ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Regatta

We disembarked 10 days early from a 17 day cruise. There were many reasons, including an expected infirmity. That limited my ability to partake in shore excursions, which meant that the ship's amenities became even more important to me. But the key reason we got off early is that the ship and cruise ended up not being what we wanted or expected. We'll outline our expectations, and why this ...

Another wonderful Oceania cruise

The port stops were somewhat boring--not a lot of infrastructure for visitors in Central America. However, the ship experience was outstanding. The food was truly amazing and the service was wonderful. This was our fifth cruise with Oceania on our third ship. Although the Regatta is almost 20 years old, it doesn't show it's age at all. Maintenance is constant. The service was excellent, ...

Good cruise, but not for the price

Review for a South America Cruise on Regatta

We recently completed the 23-day Caribbean and Amazon Rivers cruise on Oceania Regatta. Our overall assessment of the cruise is that it was, in general, a good cruise. However, for the pricing, we were expecting quite a bit more. This cruise, along with other Oceania cruises, prices out at about $500/day for a standard balcony cabin. Regatta is an R-class ship and we have sailed on two other ...

Impressed with First Oceania Cruise

Review for a South America Cruise on Regatta

We chose the sailing because it was one of the few offerings going to Manaus on The Amazon River and because Oceania was offering major inducements as they were not full. We ended up with only about 489 passengers, which resulted in a high staff to passenger ratio and generally an uncrowded feel. This was our first experience with Oceania and we were impressed with the overwhelming ...

The ship was very nice, it was our first small ship experience. We had a Balcony Stateroom which was the same size as we had on other cruises. The Bathroom and the shower were too small and not very functional. You had to sit on an angle on the toilet, no room to hang towels to dry and the shower a size for kids. The food in general was very good for dinner and lunch in the dining ...

Poor shore excursions impacted our enjoyment

We had not been to the Amazon before and chose this cruise for its Itinerary. We chose Oceania because we have sailed with them before enjoying their high quality dining, and excellent service. In part, this experience was spoiled by a bad shore excursions. One was advertised as a tour in a luxury 4 x 4 jeep to remote parts of Barbados. The tour was actually in the back of a truck and was ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Regatta

Well the Owners Suite 8064 was fabulous. There were several bad reviews of these suites right under the Terrace Cafe on deck 9.. because of the tables and chairs scraping on the floor above but since the retrofit in 2014 they must have put some material under the Teak floors above to silence the noises.. We only heard something a very few times and was very unremarkable. Crew was so gracious ...

First Time on Oceania

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Regatta

We were a little suspect of Oceania since we had been inundated by marketing material since we booked our cruise - back in March. But we enjoyed it very much. The Regatta is the perfect sized ship - easy to get around, you didn't have to hike from one end to the other. We noticed many special features that other cruise lines don't have..... free water and sodas in your cabin; free water when you ...
