1-10 of 58 Norwegian Sun Cruise Reviews for Senior Cruises to the Panama Canal & Central America from Miami
We were looking for an alternative to flying to our destination and decided to try a cruise. It just so happened our travel agent found this cruise which met our travel dates. We convinced our brother-in-law & his wife the join us, too! We were pretty excited and really had no expectations. From arriving in Miami, the Pullman Hotel we felt very well taken care of. Once aboard the ship we were ...
The ship was generally in good shape but the stairs were not solid and sagged at times when you went up or down the stairs. We had a nice balcony cabin for overlooking the Panama Canal. It was mid ship and we were able to see the other ships going in the opposite direction. For most of the cruise the bathroom smelled from sewage. We had the hotel director's staff come and look at the issue. They ...
Chose this cruise because we had not crossed the Panama Canal. The food was just ok the excursion were also just ok. The bar service in the Spinnaker lounge was mediocre. There are no real quiet public areas to sit. The is music blasting everywhere. Not likely to cruise with NCL again. Our aft balcony stateroom was quite expensive and we later checked the cruise line to see the prices and saw the ...
A friend ask if I wanted to share a cabin on a Norwegian cruise ship through the Panama Canal. It was a little pricey but I all ways wanted to go on a Norwegian cruise ship and to the Panama Canal . I thought it was ranked as one of the better cruise lines, Had I was known it would be under construction I would of waited for another opportunity . One thing I like to do on sea days is ...
NCL decided to begin refurbishing the Sun during our cruise with total disregard for the health and safety of the passengers. Paint chips and insulation floating down from the decks and smoke stacks into our food. People became ill from the chemicals used in the paint and when forced to seek medical attention by the Cruise Doctor, they were charged 100's of dollars in medical fees. The Captain and ...
Passenger Revolt on Norwegian Cruise Line.
Passengers on Norwegian Cruise Line’s ship, Norwegian Sun, revolted forcing the captain to address ongoing issues negatively affecting all passengers. The ship, currently in the midst of a Miami to Los Angeles cruise via the Panama Canal, is due to go into dry dock for refurbishment after completion of the cruise. Apparently, in an effort to minimize ...
We chose this cruise specifically for the Panama Canal crossing, but thoroughly enjoyed the ports we visited. Cartegena, Costa Rica, Acupulco, Cabo and Ensenada were pretty touresty. Nicaragua and Guatemala were very interesting and well worth the time and expense. The cruise ship, on the other hand, was disappointing.
Extensive maintenance and repairs on board were very disruptive. We could ...
Just spent a small fortune on a long ago planned trip of a lifetime through the Panama Canal. The ship was undergoing major work during the trip with many areas closed for the entire duration with some rolling closures. The deck areas and casual dining that were open were overcrowded as a result. Often ended up in my room eating. NCL did not advise us in advance nor discount our fares. We paid a ...
We were looking forward to the cruise from Miami to Los Angeles as a luxurious couple of weeks visiting some exotic ports in Central America as well as going through the Panama Canal.
Boarding was relatively quick and easy, taking less than an hour. We ate in the buffet while the rooms were being prepared and then wandered around looking at the facilities that seemed quite good. We could get ...
This is one of the smaller Norwegian ships but we preferred it. It had a spacious pool deck and plenty of room for sunbeds, it didn't feel cramped like other ships. We had alot of sea days and it was never a problem trying to walk around finding sunbeds like other ships. This is probably due to the fact that half the ship don't sit in the sun due to the age range of the type of pax that books a ...
