We chose this because we always wanted to see the Panama Canal and the central America ports.
Embarking was very quick. We arrived approx 11:45 and were on the ship by 12:15.
Headed to O'Sheehan's bar for lunch and beverage. Nice bar and good food. Great staff! Anytime dining allows you to dine here as well as the main dining rooms.

Overall, I found the Star to be okay. I recently sailed the Jade (Panama Canal, Miami round-trip) and have favorites on both boats and wish the two would combine to make my dream ship!

The location was the main reason. The trip was excellent, smooth sailing, very good shore excursions although some a little pricey. Main Entertainment was very good to excellent but entertainment in main areas of ship was awful.
Food good with very good variety.
Service good.
Can’t prove it but food on shore excursions gave both of us Montezuma’s Revenge.

This 14 day cruise was from Miami through the Panama Canal and north to Los Angeles. The ship was clean and well maintained as was our cabin. The toilet stopped working twice
(affecting a number of cabins) but was repaired promptly.
The staff, without fail, was pleasant, friendly and helpful. Any request was dealt with promptly.
