Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

We have always booked cruises leaving the NYC area since we are not fond of flying. However, this cruise looked very interesting and we couldn't pass it up..So we flew down to Miami the same day as the cruise. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be but we still don't like flying.Anyway, embarkation was all right especially since we were Latitudes members with a balcony so our line was a lot ...

This was our first cruise with Norwegian having cruise with Carnival twice. And our first 7 day cruise. Embarkation: Embarkation went well. Not to many problems. It was a little warm inside but luckily by the time we we checked in they were allowing people to board. And of course like most people we headed over to the buffet. Which brings us to the next subject. Food: The food was great. Ate ...

PERFECT Days on a Cruise!

This was our 14th cruise, 3rd on NCL. We were a group of 6, 4 in our late 50's and 2 "80-ish" aunties. Our overall comment on NCL is that they need to update into the technology age for their web site, their pre-cruise registration and embarkation process, provide the ability to view onboard charges from your cabin, and improve the wi-fi on the ship. That being said, it was a wonderful cruise ...

Norwegian Jewel April 4th, 2010 Please excuse my habit of being ALL OVER THE PLACE with my writing. I will start by mentioning the gathering set up for the folks who were on the CruiseCritic Roll Call for this cruise. It was set up for the first day at sea, 11am, in the Maltings Beer and Whiskey Bar on deck 6. NCL was very nice to work with on setting this gathering up and a class act as ...

We had an awesome cruise! NCL are the best and their employees are fabulous. We went as a group; myself, wife 2 year old son, inlaws. We stayed in adjoining mini suites and loved it. Our room attendant was Edguardo and he was fantastic and very, very kind to our son. He made sure there was a new towel animal on his bed everyday! We love NCL, we would recommend them to anyone ...

I came, I saw, I escaped from Miami

This cruise, from April 11th through April 23rd, caught my eye because I liked the idea of starting in one port and ending up in my home port of NYC. I flew home immediately after cruising Alaska and will never do that again; it's too jarring to go from a relaxed state to the levels of anxiety and stress that are the "new normal" of an American airport. Catching a cab home sounded wonderful. I ...

Our trip began with an overnight in KC at Embassy Suites and SWA flight to FFL. $35 taxi ride to Hardrock Hotel and Super Shuttle $32 each plus 20% tax next day to Port of Miami. The only warm day was at Roatan. We're talking temp's in the low sixties. We wished for some warm clothes like sweatsuits. The Norwegian Jewel is just beautiful and immaculate. The service couldn't have been better. The ...

About the Reviewer: It helps to gauge where the experiences you're about to read come from and to put them in perspective. I'm a 28 year old male non-traditional college student who traveled solo for the first time on a non-Atlantis charter for spring break. As a side note I did have to pay the dreaded single supplement which is 200% of per person fare. I have sailed on the Norwegian Jewel twice ...

It's been awhile since I blogged, so I thought this trip we just finished might be a good place to start back up again. Cruise. Yep, I went on a cruise. Those who know me may be thinking 'what? He went on a cruise? Old folks, dress codes, assigned seating?? He's senile'. Well, partly right, crazy, not stupid. My girlfriend wanted to do something different for her daughter's school spring ...

Just arrived home from a truly memorable cruise on NCL Jewel. This was our first NCL cruise, although we have cruised quite a bit on other lines. I was worried, having read some really negative reviews here. However, our experience was very favorable. Embarkation: We arrived in FLL 2 hours later than scheduled, but still in plenty of time for SAS to get us to the port without problems. Having ...
