I always wanted to do a full transit of the Panama Canal. The Jewel was sailing on the dates of my 45 anniversary, so that is why we picked NCL Jewel. I usually sail with Royal and Carnival.

Average cruise with limited daytime activities and below par evening entertainment
On board costs extravagant with a cost of 4,000 usd for a medical issue which could have been resolved in 30 minutes but took 4 hours

Going through the canal was great. Having to go clear to Catagena is terrible. The NCL personnel are great. Food was good. Some entertainment was real good some not very good. We were ripped off on some excursions through NCL. We went on an excursion with Julio; Cesear was our guide; went to volcano climb to the top and slid down on a 8 inch board. We did this cruise to do something different and to see places we wouldn't normally do. Getting on and off the ship was an experience not a good one, it took over 2 hours of queuing to get on and even longer to disembark! The cabin was comfortable but needed bringing up to date. Let me start on embarkation.( Who cares about Miami, not at all impressed) Total chaos was the order of the day.
