Being my first review I'm a little intimidated. It seems that those who respond to negative reviews often do so by criticizing the author's grammar, sentence structure and overall literacy. I don't claim to be Ernest Hemmingway, but I think this is supposed to be about the cruise isn't it?
We were not expecting a high-end cruise experience, just something similar to what we got on our first ...
Greetings!
Okay, so here's my review of the 2 week NCL Jewel Repositioning Cruise, departing April 11th from Miami and returning April 24th in NYC.
Please note - in regards to my review: 1) I am 30 years old 2) I was traveling with my partner, and my parents (sep rooms) 3) I am always gracious to have "a hot meal", regardless of culinary expertise 4) I stay out late (past midnight)
Here's ...
Though I had a great time, this is the most disappointing cruise I have been on. Positive random thought:
The cabin was very nice. The shower was the largest I have seen on a cruise line. The Circus Bijou show was the nicest show I have seen on a cruise ship
Dinning:
The first six nights of this cruise it seemed the dining and cooking staff was swamped. We waited twenty minutes for them to ...
This was our first cruise with Norwegian having cruise with Carnival twice. And our first 7 day cruise.
Embarkation: Embarkation went well. Not to many problems. It was a little warm inside but luckily by the time we we checked in they were allowing people to board. And of course like most people we headed over to the buffet. Which brings us to the next subject.
Food: The food was great. Ate ...
For first time cruisers my husband and I did intensive research about cruise lines/ships and destinations. We were wavering between the Caribbean and Mexican Riviera. When we found this "repo" cruise and saw the price the choice was easy.
Then of course we (meaning I) logged onto Cruise Critic to read all about past cruises and see if there were comments on this cruise. We joined Roll Call and ...
This cruise, from April 11th through April 23rd, caught my eye because I liked the idea of starting in one port and ending up in my home port of NYC. I flew home immediately after cruising Alaska and will never do that again; it's too jarring to go from a relaxed state to the levels of anxiety and stress that are the "new normal" of an American airport. Catching a cab home sounded wonderful.
I ...
We have always booked cruises leaving the NYC area since we are not fond of flying. However, this cruise looked very interesting and we couldn't pass it up..So we flew down to Miami the same day as the cruise. It wasn't as bad as we thought it would be but we still don't like flying.Anyway, embarkation was all right especially since we were Latitudes members with a balcony so our line was a lot ...
Our kids (16, 13, and 11) as well as my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this trip. There were plenty of teens due to Spring Break and many couples in our age category. The NCL employees were incredibly wonderful, professional, pleasant, and so very very hard working. You would think that 'freestyle' cruising would mean that you would not have the opp to get to have personalized service, but our ...
We had an awesome cruise! NCL are the best and their employees are fabulous.
We went as a group; myself, wife 2 year old son, inlaws. We stayed in adjoining mini suites and loved it.
Our room attendant was Edguardo and he was fantastic and very, very kind to our son. He made sure there was a new towel animal on his bed everyday!
We love NCL, we would recommend them to anyone ...
This was our eleventh cruise on various cruise lines but our first repositioning cruise. We had taken two previous NCL cruises and liked the "Freestyle" concept. The Jewel left Miami and after six ports and 13 nights was ending up in NYC which appealed to us greatly as my husband had never seen the NYC and this way we could kill two birds with one stone. We were travelling with another couple. We ...
