Grandkids first cruise!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We chose this cruise to coincide with our grandchildren's spring break from high school in snowy Colorado! We also chose it because they sailed free! They both REALLY enjoyed their cruise and we REALLY enjoyed them! They were the perfect age for grandparents to cruise with! They are self sufficient, they loved having their own keycards and the ability to go grab a bite and/or a beverage by ...

Overall a great cruise. Pre testing start to finish took about 1hr. In line to go in was packed, (bumper to bumper), inside for tests, stations were extremely tight, then went to waiting area for results, (given card with time on it) to get in final line to get wrist band, then went through security area to boarding area. Our arrival time was between 10:30-11 got to pier at 11on Getaway ...

This whole trip felt like we were in a line. Getting on the ship took 2 hours or more. Disembarkation was super unorganized, we were late to Florida and only enjoyed 2 hours after paying for a 30$ shuttle. They failed to announce tender reservations were required to get off on the private island which was our second stop, so we waited for hours again. Third stop we were in a line as well, although ...

I gave this review a very good. Here are the positives: Must see entertainment, Burn the Floor, Cirque Dreams of Steam, and Million Dollar Quartet. Casino review: Blackjack very bad to play house had extreme advantage because the Casino uses a shufflemaster. For people who dont understand this the cards played are put right back into the hopper so theres no rhyme or reason as to what card would ...

NCL needs a lot of work

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This was not my first cruise, but it was my first cruise on NCL. It will also be my last. I will start with what was good about the cruise. The breakfast and dinner was very good. We did not eat in the buffet. We ate breakfast at Savor or Taste each morning and for dinner ate there as well or at the Tropicana. Lunch in the buffet was gross. Our room was also a good size. We were in a mid ship ...

Did the same cruise in Oct. 2018 when Hurricane Michael messed with our stops. Got a great casino deal so we tried it again. We had a morning flight into FLL, shuttle took us to ship arrived about noon and literally walked right on. Great timing. We had bid on upgrade and received ocean view 48 hours prior to cruising for 75.00 pp. This room had plenty of space compared to IS cabins. It ...

I have cruised with Norwegian years ago and so much has changed. We were shocked with the service. In main dining, we many of times waited more than an hour to be served dinner, with no one coming back to our table to see if we needed refills etc. In Savor we asked to switch out our appetizers because we didn't like them and they did, but when we were done, the waiter basically asked for an ...

We only cruise Norwegian. I'm sure there are many other good cruise lines, but we've become accustomed to NCL and we like receiving points which add up to perks. This was our 7th cruise (Caribbean, Greece/Italy, Mexico, Alaska). We have stayed in suites, mini-suites, Balcony Stateroom, family rooms, inside rooms and The Haven. All have been wonderful with The Haven being exceptional. VERY clean, ...

We chose this cruise because our daughter's friends were going for their senior trip and she wanted to go also so we decided to make it a family vacation. We had the best vacation ever. The staff was excellent. Very attentive all the time. The food was excellent also and servers were over the top excellent. The ship was beautiful. We have no complaints at all. Anniversary Cruise

We wanted to be on the cruise on our anniversary, so we selected this cruise. We usually go on smaller ships, such as the Pearl, but there were none available from Miami on our dates. We were pleasantly surprised by the Getaway. The staff and crew were fantastically friendly and accommodating. The ship was very upbeat, and we were able to find quiet areas, although it was spring break. ...
