Enjoyed every minute on the Epic

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Epic

My husband and I just returned from a 7 night Caribbean cruise aboard the Norwegian Epic, and it was fantastic. As this was our first cruise we were really not sure what to expect. I had read some reviews here and was a bit concerned, but our travel agent assured us we would be happy with our choice, and she was right. Embarkation was a breeze. Our carry-on bags were quickly scanned, and the ...

I went on my first cruise March 7th for one week on the Norwegian Epic. I will first set out the positives, and then the negatives. Positives The buffet was very good, especially the Asian section. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The service was excellent. Being used to all-inclusive Resorts with bad entertainment, the entertainment (I only saw three – the comedy was bad) was ...

Ok this is my 3rd cruise, my first two cruises were on Carnival and Disney. I must say, comparing the three, Norwegian comes in 3rd place. Overall I had a good time on my vacation. It was a 7 day cruise with ports in Cozumel Mexico, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman, it is also the biggest ship I have ever cruised on, which is a good and bad thing. Lets me start off with the Pros because the Cons are ...

My wife and I are frequent cruisers, one or two cruises per year. We have cruised with RCI, Princess, Carnaval, Celebrity and NCL. This was our first trip on the Epic and we hadn't sailed with NCL in 20 years. Embarkation was OK about 20 min. with no issues. We had a balcony room or as NCL called it a min suite (9257) on deck 9. The room was nice with comfortable bed and ample storage space. The ...

So this reviews a bit long but very informative. I try to write it for the person who likes details and who may have never cruised before. You might be just like me or you might be totally different, in which case things I loved you might not or things I didn’t like, you might love! I’m a 34 yr old female traveling with friends. This being said I don’t have kids but I’m not easily bothered by ...

Good, not phenomenal

My perspective is from a wheelchair-user. Check-in was very good, quick and easy. Upon entering the ship the sheer size and amount of people (it was a packed ship; 4500 capacity) is overwhelming. This eases up a bit, but it really feel much crowder than other smaller cruises. CABINS: Balcony handicapped rooms spacious and best layout than any other handicapped cabins in other cruise lines. We ...

Norwegian has been our favorite cruise line for years. This was our 2nd time on the Epic. Didn't really care for the Epic the first time around. The ship was so different from previous ships. Was not impressed with the changes. We've always had a balcony, except this time we had an interior. Not going to do that again. Our fault. You don't feel like you are on a ship. The room was clean. Our ...

My first ever cruise. Please know, I do research. I read a lot...It doesn't help. I asked people for recommendations ... it doesn't help. Because you don't understand what anyone is actually talking about unless you have some experience to relate it to if you have not cruised before. So I'm going to try that. I booked directly with Norwegian which was a recommendation from a neighbor. Once she ...

Some Minor Speed Bumps But An Otherwise Smooth Trip

This was my first experience on a Norwegian cruise, and I was very pleased with my experience. So much so that I have booked another trip in December aboard the Norwegian Dawn. We sailed out of Miami, which is your stereotypical tourist trap city, but we enjoyed the white sand beaches there. Getting aboard the Epic certainly had its fair share of long lines to get on and off the ship, but that is ...

So I'm a first time cruiser and was looking for an inexpensive way to get some sun during the winter and cruising seemed to fit the bill - much cheaper than a resort. Overall - it was a great value, I enjoyed it. It was a great way to travel if you're looking to get some sun and "getaway" from it all - this is a good ship. Set manageable expectations regarding size, crowds, etc and you'll be ...
