MSC is different, but that's not a bad thing

The wife and I took our 10th anniversary cruise (and first cruise ever) on the MSC Divina. We were originally going to try Virgin, as the kiddos were staying home with the grands for this one, but by the time we booked Scarlet Lady was full. MSC caught our attention from YouTube and online research. The price point was hard to beat and we weren't looking for a megaship for our first time out so ...

Fun Experience on the Divina!

I am struggling with understanding the incessant negative reviews of the Divina. I took a 4-night sailing to the Bahamas and had a wonderful experience. I am a solo female traveler. I initially booked Bella interior guarantee and was upgraded to a junior balcony on deck 9 at no cost. Embarkation was incredibly smooth, from dropping my suitcase with the porter to getting on the ship was less than ...

We picked this cruise because of price and timing, and we had cruised on this ship when it arrive in the USA the first time. We wanted to see if it was still as pretty as it was in 2012 and as fast and quite and it was. engine and ride is so smooth sometimes you don't know you are moving. Entertainment costumes were great on main stage, women singers out performed the men, they might need to ...

We were looking for a cruise the week the kids had off from school, We have a place in Miami a few blocks away from the port. Saw an MSC ship about 6 years ago and thought it might be an option one of our cruises. That day came Black Friday of 2022, my daughter was making my wife and I crazy. Why do you and mom never take her on a cruise , so I called the travel agent giving him the dates and port ...

This was my 3rd time on Divina, all solo cruises. It's a good size: not too big, not too small, and you can always find a quiet spot to yourself or a lounge chair somewhere. I chose this one yet again because they were advertising a GREAT sale for solo cruisers! ** Thank you MSC!!! ** - And actually I did the 4-night starting on April 10, 2023 (Nassau and Ocean Cay) plus this 7-night back to ...

I have cruised on 8 cruise lines, over 35 cruises and wanted to try an M.S.C. to compare. I see where many people give M.S.C.Divina poor to average reviews, Well mine was a 4 day Bahama cruise out of Miami. On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being poor and 5 being excellent I give M.S.C.Divina a 4 rating. The shows were excellent, My inside cabin was as good as any of the inside cabins i have had on other ...

MSC Divina: Food: buffet and MDR food were on par with other cruise lines, pizza was amazing! all other past reviews of bad food I did not find. good selection on the buffet, MDR food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Cabin: Interior cabin, no problems, what you would expect. Entertainment: production shows were very strange; singers and dancers very professional, hit every note and ...

After reading all the negative reviews for the MSC Divina in the Caribbean I was very concerned for our first trip with MSC. We have been on NCL and RC several times each. Most of our fears were alleviated upon getting on the ship and experiencing the super friendly customer service – in fact, just based on friendliness MSC is amazing. The Good: Our stateroom – we had a two-room suite so we ...

We are 57 and 61 years old and have travelled on 16 + cruises. We have travelled on Carnival, NCL, Cunard, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and now MSC. They all have advantages and disadvantages for various reasons. The only one we will NEVER travel with again is Cunard. This was our first time on MSC. We booked the trip with another couple for a 1 week getaway. We have travelled on this ...

So I have been on many different lines and the past 2 cruises have been with MSC. But MSC would NEVER be my pick unless sailing in Yacht Club. Yacht Club is wonderful in every way, but the second you step outside of it to the main bars there is no service most of the time or bars are closed. The buffet is HORRIBLE. Packed to the brim, people are elbowing and shoving and cutting lines and ...
