Panama Canal and south America

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We chose this cruise because of the canal transit and the South American itinerary. A week or so out there was a change to the itinerary, dropping the first stop in Colombia (Santa Marta), changing Panama City to Colón, and adding an extra day in Lima. I haven't seen an explanation for the change, and while the extra day in Lima instead of Santa Marta was a decent trade, Colón for Panama City ...

A SHIP TO AVOID

The crew were excellent. Most of the entertainment in the theatre were your dancers and singers Most cruise lines are reducing the levels of service and amenities provided. NCL has taken this to the extreme. There are no toiletries; no bath gowns; no chocolate on the pillow at turn-down. In fact they have no turn-down service at all. Dirty towels remain on the floor until the next day (often the ...

Solo on a Caribbean cruise onboard Crystal Serenity

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Crystal Serenity

Once upon a time… I have decided to start my review with that sentence because the Crystal Serenity used to be part of a company called Crystal Cruises which was owned by Genting (a Malaysian Company). Crystal cruises ceased operations as a consequence of the financial difficulties from Genting and entered in a process of liquidation in which the ships and assets were sold to different ...

Norwegian Sun 17 Night Panama Canal and South America

Review for a South America Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We chose this trip because of the ship and the itinerary. We prefer the small ships because they have a more personal and intimate feel to them compared to the big ships like the Bliss, Epic, Encore etc. The entire cruise experience was great. We had a balcony stateroom and it was very spacious and comfortable. Yes, the ship is older so the room does show some wear and tear but it was very ...

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

We were excited but apprehensive. We had decided not to sail the Symphony again because of the age of the ship and the HVAC issues. Given that this was a newer ship we decided to take the Jan 5 Caribbean cruise as we truly missed sailing on Crystal (had gone on over 35 segments). The positives: Rooms have been nicely redone and we paid up for the Sapphire suite which was spacious, well ...

This was the second time we'd sailed on the Norwegian Sun but we enjoyed the first time more and noticed some subtle changes which had made the cruise more expensive. We like the ship because it is smaller with 2,000 guests. The State Rooms, the Dining, the Bars and the Entertainment were all excellent. The Service in some departments however left plenty of room to improve particularly around ...

We had been on Regent Seven Seas Navigator before and had a great cruise. Everything was perfect, so when this cruise came up from Miami to Miami on Mariner into the Amazon, we booked the trip and looked so much forward to go. But already the first evening there was problems to go into the restaurant. They didn't have enough seat for people and we had to wait, for quite some time. It happened more ...

My wife and I just finished a 25 day cruise to the Amazon River in Brazil on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner. We are in our mid 60s and have cruised over 30 times mostly on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. This was our first “luxury cruise”. The itinerary was round trip Miami with many stops in the Caribbean and 3 days up the Amazon River to Manaus, Brazil. Everything was included in the fare – ...

We set off on the World Cruise. Pros: Gorgeous, Great Itinerary, a + for staying late in ports, Nice staff, The garden theming and bird chirps around the indoor pool are amazing Cons: The steak is the worst steak Ive ever had on a ship. Rubbery in textture and salted to the max.It is so bad that the only meat I eat is the Roast Beef. - Shame on the World Cruise for not converting an area ...

We chose this ship for the itinerary. The Caribbean, Panama Canal, and Alaska were booked back to back to back for 31 days, same cabin. It was fantastic. The staff were so wonderful. Everyone made every effort to ensure we had a great time, and that we got everything we needed. Our room steward was always there to take care of everything with the cabin as well as keep us up to date on ...
