Wanted to visit Cuba while it is still historic. The Cuban people were so kind and warm. Would recommend this as a must do cruise. The sky being a smaller ship and older was a pleasant surprise. It was so much more than what I expected. Check in was a breeze, arrived st 10:30 and boarded right away. The sail away party was a lot of fun. It’s on deck 11 by the pool. Went immediately to make spa ...

Cuban Getaway

My wife and I chose this cruise specifically because it went to Cuba and NCL was offering an overnight stay in Havana. Most other lines did not, at the time of our booking, offer an overnight stay in Havana. This specifically attracted us to using NCL over other cruise lines going to Cuba. We have sailed from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) on multiple occasions, so this time we planned to ...

We chose this cruise so that we could go to Havana. Two family members who are no longer alive came to the US from Cuba and lived in Havana. Our group consisted of babies, and one 90 year old. Most of us had never been to Cuba before or had only been there as a child. The cruise allowed us to go to Havana in comfort. The amenities on the ship were far superior to any we would have had in the ...

The good was great; the bad was awful

We are cruise veterans but had never sailed on Norwegian. This cruise was promoted by a travel agent we know and we were intrigued about the opportunity to travel to Cuba so we decided to go, and we brought friends with us. Our travel agent collected the funds for the Cuban visa from us and we were instructed to fill out the OFAC declaration and submit to Norwegian. Despite having done so ...

First cruise. My wife and 2 friends came with us and we all had a great time. The food at the buffet was average but decent, what you'd expect. The food at the specialty restaurants was excellent. Service was excellent and everyone on board was very professional. You get well taken care of. All the ports were fun. The Bahamas is fantastic, Key West was great. Cuba was beautiful and full of ...

Unorganized/Poor Quality

We have taken NCL before and found poor everything, mostly the food.... awful. However we traveled on the Breakaway with family and was surprised at the size of the room ( we always get a suite) and the food in the main dining rooms was excellent. So we thought that they had improved and decided to take this short trip to Cuba. It was a disaster for the price we paid. For a suite the room ...

Fascinating Cruise

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Quest

Our original itinerary was changed to offer a 10 day intensive cruise in Cuba. We had never really thought about visiting Cuba but decided to accept the revised itinerary. We are so glad we did! We found Cuba to be a fascinating place , unique and very different from our lives and previous Holidays. Our favourite place was definitely Havana and we were glad to have a sustained stay, there. We ...

Great cruise despite the ports of call

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Quest

We wanted to go to Cuba, and chose the Cuba Intensive sailing. For us, 2-days in Havana would have been ideal. Cienfuegos was nice enough but not much to see; Santiago was horrible. The Cubans we saw tended to swarm us looking for money, and we found it quite unpleasant. We were scammed by several taxi drivers. Air quality is poor and the poverty is ever present. Not Azamara’s failure by any ...

Best staff and wonderful food

We chose this because of the itinerary. It really was an intensive look at Cuba, with three days in Havana, a day in Cienfuegos and an additional overnight plus a day in Santiago de Cuba. In Havana the cruise terminal is right in the old city so walking off the ship to explore on our own was easy. I can recommend the rum museum in the old Havana Club, which is two blocks from the ship. Taxis were ...

Intensive Cuba and a Return to Azamara

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Azamara Quest

Azamara offers the best itinerary to Cuba with three full days in Havana, one in Cienfuegos and a night and day in Santiago de Cuba. For a first visit, I felt that I learned quite a bit about this island nation. It has been eight years since I last cruised Azamara and I quickly remembered why I loved the two previous cruises: the ship's size, the wonderful crew and well-travelled ...
