We always cruised Royal Caribbean and built up loyalty points to Diamond status. We decided to try Celebrity last April because of the ports and it being a part of the Royal family. It was not a problem transferring the status level to Celebrity. We are empty nesters and cruise by ourselves, the kids aren’t interested. Another reason we chose Celebrity Is that is seems to be more adult oriented. We didn’t really see very many children, a few teenagers. The cleanliness and friendly staff of the ship also impressed us. Living in South Florida makes for easy access to cruises are an easy drive. Leaving and arriving in Miami is beautiful. We started booking suites on Royal and booked one for this cruise- we are hooked on suites now. On Celebrity you get a butler and he was a wealth of information with top notch service. He also told us about his experiences while working on a ship on an Alaskan cruise- we did book one onboard after hearing about the beauty and his adventures. From start to end Celebrity treated us like we were the most important person on the ship. We like the suite amenities- the exclusive dining room and lounge. The dining room is smaller than the regular dining room. The Lounge, Michaels, is a cozy intimate bar with friendly staff. In the suite only dining room , Luminae, you have a slightly different menu, you can get the main dining room menu, you just have to ask. The food was excellent. On one evening we were bothered in the dining room by a rather loud couple a few tables away that felt the entire place needed to hear them. This went on for a while. you could see other passengers getting frustrated too. We quickly finished our meal without desert and left after telling our wonderful server why. The next day the head waiter came to us and was very concerned that we were not happy. We told him it was not our server but the loud couple... We told him how much we loved our food and server and we didn’t want to be seated anywhere else. He said we should have told him about the couple( we didn’t want a scene created at the time). The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were happy while dining. We did try the sushi in the specialty restaurant- very good. We felt the prices were reasonable. Shore Excursions: Debarking for shore excursions is very organized and timely ( we had one nightmare experience on a Royal ship). Returning is also easy. Don’t wait until the last minute to return. The places we visited do take US Dollars. We did Segways in San Juan , our time was bumped to late afternoon. You have to pass a Segway proficiency driver test due to the hills and cobblestones. Four people were refunded their money due to difficulties mastering the Segway and returned to the ship. We finally started as the sun was setting. It was really beautiful to see Old San Juan and the fort at night but would have preferred more daylight. We learned a great deal from our tour guide. We did Snuba in St Kitts- So much fun, we didn’t want it to end. Our tour guide was very attentive and pointed out various sea creatures. In St Maarten we returned to “ Jet Blast Beach” with an excursion . We went on a previous Royal cruise a few years before, we took a local taxi right outside the cruise terminal, and boy oh boy has it changed. The formerly small resturant /bar on one side is now a huge venue with a nice sized gift shop. If you want to sit at a table to see the jets you must order food or drink. They have a board listing the flights and times. The beach is on the small side, get there early if you want to rent a chair and umbrella or get a beach spot. The water is a beautiful blue and warm. BEWARE of the jet blast!! DO NOT HANG ON THE FENCE! People do get seriously hurt and yes die when the departing large jets take off, they literally get blow off and get slammed on the road/ curb. It is a tiny two lane road that separates the landing area and beach. Do be prepared to get sand blasted on the beach if you are in the immediate perimeter of the blast. We walked over to the small outdoor “Mexican” resturant nearby to grab a bite to eat while waiting for our return van. It was good and not too pricey. We enjoyed the variety of entertainment and activities on board. We would go again. Celebrity has spoiled us and highly unlikely we will ever use another ocean cruise line- they are that good. We did book our Alaska cruise while onboard, more perks with a small deposit if you book onboard. We are very excited about our upcoming Celebrity Alaska Landtour and cruise! Read Less

The service provided was exceptional. This cruise, by far, was the best we had been on! The staff was extremely courteous and friendly, always with a smile. The cabin attendant was fantastic and always kept our room clean and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed every meal presented. The restaurant staff were courteous and offered wonderful suggestions about food and drink! All the excursions were professionally conducted, and the native staff were very knowledgeable about the tours and history associated with those tours. We enjoy not only experiencing the tours but learning of the culture and history of places we visit. Most of our activities keyed on relaxing and doing "nothing" in abundance! The embarkation and disembarkation processes were fantastic. We took advantage of Celebrities "ship to airport" valet program. This enabled us to send our bags, with correct airline tags attached, directly to the airport. We only had to worry about getting ourselves to the airport without hassling with the luggage. Made the trip home so much easier. Overall the best cruise we've been on and will likely stay with Celebrity. Read Less

This was our first cruise with Celebrity and we enjoyed it very much. We have been on about 15 or so cruises, mostly with Princess so will add a little comparison here and there. First off let me put this all in prospective. My husband and I are in our mid 40s and we were in a Sky Suite for this sailing. Vacations are a time for us to relax as we both have professional careers and own a small business. We are realistic, open minded, and try to keep our expectation in check. Miami: We arrived the day before and stayed at the Intercontinental downtown. It offered a variety of places to walk for dinner and entertainment. We took Uber here and to the port the next morning. Had no problems with either and would recommend. Embarkation: This was the fastest embarkation we have ever had. I think our hotel checkout took longer than security and check-in at the port. We arrived dropped our luggage off with the porter who pointed us where to go. Always tip your porter. Being in a suite we entered the priority door side of the terminal and showed the ladies our paperwork who then directed us to security. There was only one couple in front of us so it moved very fast. We then went upstairs where we were greeted by a queen and directed to the check in counter which we were able to walk right up to without waiting. We were quickly checked in and told to see the concierge who was standing behind us. The concierge told us to follow him and that we were just cleared to start boarding. We went up the escalator and walked right on board. The way it happened we felt like the concierge was waiting on us to arrive so we could all start boarding. (lol) After embarking, we walked around the ship to explore and find where everything was located. Ship: Our first impression of the ship was how great it looked. There were multiple places and venues to hang out which seemed to disperse people well. Having only 2 sets of elevators, there was always waits and crowds at the back banks of elevators. The layout was nice and easy to get where you wanted to go. The Hideaway and Game room hidden in the middle of the ship on stateroom decks gave people a quiet places for people to relax and lounge around. Everything was always clean as is expected. The aft cabins had issues with their toilets on and off during the second half of the week due to the main pipe being clogged. Wish people would stop flushing things that aren’t allowed. The other big thing I noticed, or technically didn’t notice, was vibration during docking or departing. On Princess, especially aft, we could always feel vibration during dockings. It was never an issue but we noticed it. On the Reflection we felt nothing. And actually a few times we didn’t even know we left or arrived somewhere until we looked outside. Cabin: Cabins were ready exactly at 1:30. We had an aft Sky Suite on deck 12. For us, this was the perfect size. Enough room to relax and enjoy the room and not excessive space that we really don’t need. There was so much storage that we barely filled half of it. All light color woods which made the place larger and gave a modern look. The bathroom had a nice tub/shower combo with a large rainfall shower head and a hand held. Again, there was lots of storage with two cabinets and 4 drawers. The balcony was of nice size with a large table and 2 reclining chairs with foot stools. We had our breakfast delivered out there a couple mornings. Our butler was poor to average. Upon meeting him, he was in a hurry; he just introduced himself and didn’t really explain anything. We asked him if we needed reservations in Luminae which he said we did so we told him to get us in either at 6 or 630. He never notified us of the time he arranged and when we checked he had not made any reservations. He brought us our breakfast every morning and more than half the time forgot items. We weren’t really sure what to expect from him. Upon meeting it would have been nice for him to go over his duties and explain how to contact him at the very least. Our cabin steward was great. He was in and out like a ninja and everything was always perfect. But we are low maintenance and keep our cabin tidy. He would ask every time we saw him if we needed anything or if something wasn’t right. Lifeboat Drill: I just wanted to mention this as a comparison with Princess. On this cruise there were many more muster station than on Princess which meant more dispersion of people and not having to deal with herds of people arriving and leaving. Of course you still had the bottle necks at the stairwells & elevators post drill. It’s almost impossible to get around that. We also didn’t have to bring our lifejacket like you do on Princess which makes it easier to go somewhere else after vice having to return the lifejacket to your stateroom. At our drill, we happen to have a couple sit with us that we became friends with and hung out with for most of the cruise. They were so much fun and had very similar personalities. Bars: This is one area I think Princess is better. Princess has more bars and more open bars during the day whether it’s a sea day or port day. The only inside bar that seemed to be open during early afternoon was the Passport bar on deck 3. And the bartender there always seemed a little rude, slow, and not wanting to be there. The pool deck bars also seemed to be slow and understaffed. I think overall they need more bars open and bartenders on duty. For example, there typically was only 1 at the Passport bar during the afternoon. The Sunset bar was great and offered wonderful views. This was also the place to be for sail-a-ways. I loved how the Martini bar’s bar top was frosted. It actually kept your martinis cold till the end. We enjoyed the World bar on deck 5 after dinner each evening. They make some great specialty cocktails. But be forewarned they can only make what’s on their menu as they don’t carry bottle watered, sodas, or other mixers not needed in their menu cocktails. They were always pointing people elsewhere for water and sodas. Concierge Lounge: Michael’s Club was absolutely great. On the first day upon entry they ask you your cabin number and from then on they knew you. That first evening the concierge was able to fix our butler’s lacking and get us into Luminae every night at the time we wanted. They were also able to squeeze us in QSine when we asked later in the week and on the Ship’s Tour. The whole staff here gave outstanding service all around. We came here nightly for pre-dinner drinks and canapés and after the first night they knew your drink preferences. They also had live music on 3 nights during pre-dinner cocktails as well as a couple lectures during the afternoon throughout the week. A great place for some quiet time to chat with the friends we met at the lifeboat drill before dinner. This perk alone is another reason we will book again. Specialty Restaurants: We ate at the Lawn Club Grill on the second night. The weather was bad with gale force winds and a rocking ship. This caused us to have to tuck our napkins in our pants and eat our salads quickly before it all blew out to the lawn but our meal was great. I had one of the best NY strip steaks I have ever had. You can assist with making your “flat bread” if you choose which is more like a pizza as it’s quite large. But it was very good. The whole experience was worth the price. We tried QSine on the fifth night. Again another great meal and experience well worth the price. Our service was great but it would have been nice for her to push us to focus on fewer courses. We ordered 13 courses and by the 10th we were so full I thought I would need a wheel chair to get back to the stateroom. We cancelled the last two courses which we really wanted to try but just couldn’t. Later we were told for a couple that 5 or 6 courses is probably ideal. We thought some of the courses were much bigger than they needed to be. If they were a little smaller you would be able to taste more before getting too full. We also did Sushi on 5 one day for lunch. It was good and not too expensive. If you like sushi it’s worth trying. Would do all of these again but next cruise we also want to try the others. Dining Room: We never ate in the main dining room since we had access to Luminae. Only ate here for dinner and lunch once but wished me made it to lunch more as the menus were great. We were also able to order dishes off the main dining room menu if we saw something we wanted to try which we did a few times. You just had to ask to see that menu. The food and service was outstanding. I didn’t have one bad meal. Did I mention the service was outstanding? Anything we wanted they would have gotten. We never had to wait when arriving. In fact, there was never anyone else coming in at the same time unless we were eating with the couple we met. If I had to complain, I would say their wine selection was pretty poor. I normally drink Italian or French red but they mostly stocked Californian which was ok but a better wine selection would have been nice. And with our great service it was the little things that enhanced the experience. For example, from the first night, they knew who we were, our stateroom, and what beverage package we had. So we never had to take out our cards for drinks or extras. They also remembered your drink preferences and tastes which was amazing as we had a couple different waiters. If I had to compare the food with Princess I’d say it’s a close match. The service goes to Celebrity but it’s also not equal to compare Luminae with the main dining room on Princess as Luminae is a smaller venue with a much better server to guest ratio and less total guests to satisfy from its dedicated galley. Buffet: We never really ate a full meal in the buffet. We only used the buffet a couple times for snacks when coming back from excursions and needing something to tie us over till dinner. For the most part it was all good. The food was warm, we were always able to find a seat pretty quickly, and drink waiters were always close by. We liked how it’s laid out in stations which eliminates lines and makes it easier to get your food. I would suggest just walking around to see what they have before deciding and loading your plate. My husband complained the mid-day options were the same each day but it didn’t bother me. Food Stands: The only other places we tried were the Mast Grill and we got cookies & desserts from the Café on 5. The Mast Grill was ok. The burgers and fries we no different than on Princess except you could get sautéed onions and grilled mushrooms on your burgers. The cookies & desserts at the Café were good and the same as you can get in the buffet. We didn’t try the raw bar, the gelato stand, or the Solarium Café. Food: Over all the food was really outstanding. We generally consider ourselves a cross of being a foodie & basic eaters and love dining out in nice restaurants. We were completely satisfied with all our dining experiences. It was an A++ over all. Entertainment: We typically are not the big production number types so did not attend any of those. We did go to the Liar’s Club game show and it was hilarious. Maarten, the cruise director, and the other players put on a great show. Definitely not for children though. We also enjoyed both bands that were on board and the other live music performances. As compared to Princess, there were more live music options on this cruise. I did miss a good piano bar act where I can sing along to while having cocktails. We did the ships tour on the last sea day and it wasn’t bad. It was well organized and I liked how we all had ear pieces to hear the guide at all times. The one offered on Princess is better as you see more places and it’s not as much as an “assembly line” tour because they only do it once a cruise. On Celebrity it’s more for revenue and held a couple times each sea day. Pools: The weather the first couple days was cloudy and pretty windy so it wasn’t quite pool weather but people tried. On the first sea day we tried to find loungers in the Solarium but because of the weather it was packed beyond capacity. We got a couple seats under cover by the main pool. It rained off and on so it was fun to watch those without cover scatter when brief showers happened. We tried again on Thursday to lay by the pool. After a long search we found a couple loungers. There were definitely chair hogs on this sailing and people putting their stuff out really early in the morning to not return to the afternoon. We even saw families who reserved chairs in the sun and shade so they could move when hot. Those were some extremely rude people. The last sea day I just opted to lounge on my large balcony. Drink service was around but it was hit or miss if they were near when you needed a drink. We found it faster to just go to the bar. The pool deck was really the only area on the ship that felt crowded. Tech: The new higher speed internet was actually pretty good and faster than Princess and other lines I’ve been on. Coverage was a little weak in my aft suite but everywhere else it was good. First time we were able to access our account and order stuff via your TV. That was nice. It would have been nice if you could view the event schedule and your account with your iPhone or iPad via an intranet app. Also on your TV there were free and pay on demand movies. They really all should be free. Over all the ship is not as high techs as I would like but things are definitely getting better industry wide. Ships Staff: The ships staff overall was amazing. Outside of the couple bartenders, our butler, and the gal from Cellar Masters everyone was very friendly and helpful. The dining staff went way beyond to make our dining great. Our steward, the World Bar bartenders, concierges, Michael’s Club staff, and even guest services did an outstanding job. The cruise director, Maarten, was great. We would see him daily out and about and say hi. The guest services manager, Julie, was also awesome and very funny. We would see her around daily and she would recognize us and say hi, even if it was just a wave from across the atrium. Fellow passengers: Our fellow passengers seemed to be a bit more sophisticated, well-traveled, and friendlier on this cruise than past cruises. Not sure if it was the cruise line, time of year, or just luck of the draw. There was hardly any rude behavior noticed except for the chair hogs. It was nice and refreshing to not deal with the “shovie pushy” folks and rude behavior. There was a lot more Europeans on this cruise compared to my past cruises which made it more enjoyable for us. We also had about 250 kids on board because of being Easter/Spring break timeframe. Most were well behaved and mainly out of sight. Only exception was a young girl with her grandparents who insisted on running around, climbing on things, and playing on the floor in Michael’s Club during pre-dinner drinks. On Thurs morning we experienced our first Coast Guard extraction. Early in the morning, before we were up, a helicopter came out and picked up a man who needed medical attention. We did not see or hear this but later on in the morning the helicopter returned to extract his wife to be with him. We saw this one and it was exciting to see in person but our thoughts go out to the man and wish him a speedy recovery. Ports: For our cruise we stopped at San Juan, St Maarten, and St Kitts. Due to the weather we arrived into San Juan about 3 hours or so late. Our excursion was cancelled the evening before as they knew we would be late. Once we arrived it was already dark and was raining so we decided not to get off. According to the staff we talked to, it was common to arrive late here. Celebrity should probably adjust the itinerary for next season. In St Maarten the weather was partly cloudy. We took a taxi over to the French side and walked around a bit. Then went back to the Dutch side and walked down all the shops. We had a nice relaxing time ashore. Departing St Maarten we were invited to the helicopter pad on the front of the ship to watch sail-away. This was a nice view and we met quite a few of the ships officers while having sparkling wine. In St Kitts we originally had nothing planned except to get off and walk around. We walked around a bit and then decided to take an island tour with a local vendor. It was only $20 per person and included a couple beers or rum punches. Nice three hour tour and worth the money. There is not much around the port outside of the port shops so I would recommend some type of tour here. Disembarkation: We did the luggage valet for disembarkation. One of the best services cruise lines have done. For $25 per person you put your bags out the night before and don’t see them again till you get to your home airport. No finding and dragging your luggage around. We hung out in our suite until 8 then casually went down to walk off. No crowds, lines, or pushing. Once in the terminal our wait for customs was about 10 mins. It was early enough that the line was short and moved pretty fast. Once outside I called an Uber and we were at the airport by 0840. This was one of the easiest disembarkations yet. Issues: We really had no issues on this cruise. The minor problem of the toilet not working occasionally the second half of the week was an inconvenience. Our butler could have been better but maybe our expectations were too high for him. And once we got home, I noticed that what was charged to my credit card for my account was $5 more than the final bill we had leaving the ship. Not sure what that additional charge was for but it’s not worth my time to call and complain over $5. Last thoughts: We had an outstanding cruise and would sail with Celebrity and on the Reflection again. It was a very relaxing cruise which was what we needed. I’m still in awe at how great the service was. We have already booked a cruise on the new Edge for 2019. Read Less

This ship was new and the cruise line was recommended by a friend for the middle age group. I wasn't going to write a review because this was our first cruise, and I didn't feel qualified. But as time passed, this cruise vacation left us with very good memories. The cruise line should get my good review - they deserve it. Everyone should cruise at least once and this ship and cruise line will meet expectations of an enjoyable experience. My husband and I are from a rural area, so peacefulness and not waiting in long lines are the norm. Celebrity delivered promptness in every aspect with managing the volumes. The ship offered several areas to relax with all levels of "noise." The dining experiences were all fine. We both could always find something palatable. We felt the programs were good to excellent in that the different ones related to different audience types. The crew was always positive and helpful. This is their job, yet I was left with lingering feelings of family warmth. They were professional, yet personable. The enrichment seminars were good, also. Many centered on wellness and offered valuable information. One thing here is that we would suggest a few programs for the outdoorsman. The cabin was excellent in every way. All the conveniences. Our room steward excellent. The entire ship impeccably clean. I could go on and on, but will just end by saying, this cruise line and the Reflection Crew did an outstanding job. With the thousands onboard, there will always be criticisms, but all in all, IT WAS GREAT. THANK YOU. Read Less

Just got back from Reflection yesterday. Had a great time. We live in Naples so it was easy to get to the port. Just a couple hours drive. Boarding was easy and quick as usual. We typically like to cruise out of Ft Lauderdale but this itinerary had St Marten which we wanted to go to. Wife likes Rays Jewelry store there and that was a major factor. We had an aquaclass cabin on deck 11. Cabin was fine but wish they had some shelves in the closet. No big deal but would be nice. Balcony was fine and room steward was excellent. One of the best we've had. We were on Independence of the Seas in January and were very disappointed with the food on that ship. We actually lost weight on that cruise. It was a pleasure going back to Celebrity. The food and service were top notch. You can definitely tell the difference between the two lines. The staff all make a point to say hello and acknowledge you all over the ship. Not So on Rccl. where they try not to make eye contact. Reflection was in great shape and very clean. Food was excellent. Many choices in the buffet and they were open late which is nice for late night snack. Specialty restaurants were very good as was the service. We ate in the Tuscan Grill, Lawn Club Grill, went to the BBQ there which was excellent. Wine and food and good company. Quisine is a must try. Ask for Nathans section. he is a riot!! We had breakfast and dinner in Blu several times and was excellent everytime. Wife likes the Muselex cart that the prepare tableside for you. Ports, nothing special. We just walked around the port in St Kitts. Weather was windy so we just had a couple drinks and went back to the ship and chilled by the pool. St Marten, Jewelry store and shopped in town and had lunch on the beach. Very nice there. San Juan, weather was windy and we were late to get in to port. Didnt arrive until 6:pm so didn't even get off the boat. Entertainment was ok. Not as good as RCCL but they have everything you need. They had some decent shows and good comedians. Martini bar was jammed every night. I would definitely recommend Reflection. Overall Great experienace. Dont listen to the negative reviews. Just go with an open mind and you will have a great time. This was our third cruise and our second Celebrity cruise (our first was on the Solcsitce) and we couldn't be happier! After comparing Celebrity to another cruiseine (in our case, Norwegian) there is no comparison. Celebrity is 2 for 2! It is all about the quality of service. EVERY staff member on the ship truly cares about your experience and delivers high quality, friendly, and fun service. The food in the main dining room was excellent, and the service was incredible (shout out to Denville, Albert, and Oleg!!). The food in the buffet was ok (better than you would expect for a buffet, but obviously still a buffet), but lacked variety (we only ate in the buffet for lunch and dinner). Wine Cellars is a must if you enjoy wine (even if you don't know much about wine like us), and Stephania will make your cruise memorable by sharing her wealth of knowledge (we hope to find out what ship she is on when we book our next cruise)! The wine tastings are a must too. Entertainment was hit or miss. Some shows were great, others just ok (I would recommend seeing them all). The best part is that you get a different show every night, so there is always something to see pre or post dinner. Finally, the Casino bar is a must. Milan, Roger, and Sasha are by far the best bartending trio I ever encountered. They made the trip fun and memorable. Another great cruise by Celebrity! Read Less

We had a great cruise even though the first three days we're rough seas and rainy. We arrived in Peurto rico couple hours late and rainy. So not a great stop. But that's ok. Had a great trip.  First time on a cruise we had the coast guard helicopter medical vac a person. And then they came a couple hours later and took the wife. It was wild to watch. Hope the man is doing good. They took him to Peurto Rico hospital we were told.  Ship is probably the prettiest ship we have been on. Has bathroom attendants handing you real towels to dry your hands on. Everywhere a ship attendant was passing out hand sanitizer. We loved the cruise director Maarten. He was great. We ended up on the wedding game as, which was embarrassing. But fun The best thing of the cruise, no one hassled you to buy anything!! Not even drinks or specialty restaurants. We had the classic drink package and was able to get pretty much any drink you wanted from coffee, seltzer water, sodas, daquaris, beer mixed drinks. If the drink was not on the classic package, the waiter was good to tell you and offer a suggestion to something close that was on classic package. Never really a problem.  We had $500 onboard credit and was able to use everywhere, no problem at all. Yes in the casino also. I lost though! Even was able to transfer some for extra tip to our room steward. Our total bill was $1.44, yahoo!  We had aqua class 1635 cabin, nice big cabin and balcony with chairs and ottomans, really nice. My husband loved the Persian gardens, he was in there at least twice a day. We all loved Blu restaurant. Small atmosphere and great view. Aqua class we felt was worth it. Also we walked right on the ship due to aqua class, no line. And walked right off ship no lines. We got to eat in blu for breakfast on final day, which was nice to have a sit down breakfast. Not rushed.  Go to the Silent Disco!!! Lots of fun. The comedians were all good. The production shows were lacking, OK! All the fun activities with Maartan the Cruise Director were excellent, he's a lot of fun!!! Read Less

We went on this one week Caribbean cruise as part of an included charter flight package from Canada at a very attractive price. Picked an upgraded cabin at the rear of the ship.We were part of a group of 8. The design of the ship is like a high end hotel with lots of dark wood etc. In the evening the centre atrium seems like a night club- rather dark. The dining room is very large with 2 story height and seating on 2 levels. Impressive look. We have travelled a great deal on the Princess larger ships so we inevitably made some comparisons. The things we liked were: - Meals and service in the main dining room were excellent. Cabin design was excellent with a deep balcony and a love seat in each cabin. Storage space and closet space however was much less than we get on Princess. The things that we didn't like were: 1. We are non smokers. The Sunset bar at the top rear of the ship is beautiful, but we gave up on sitting there. There is an artificial line down the centre of the ship that one side is smoking and one side non smoking. So when sitting in the bar, you may be as little as 10 ft way from a large group of smokers. Even when we tried to sit further away from the centre line, we often found that there was so much smoke smell drifting our way, we eventually gave up on using this bar ( too bad). on the pool deck, the area beside the bar is also designated smoking so all the tables there are taken up with smokers and even when waiting for a drink, it is pretty strong. 2. On Princess, the deck loungers are typically arranged in sets of 2 with a small table in between for drinks, etc. On the Reflection, to increase capacity around the pool areas, there are no tables and the loungers are squeezed against each other with no room between. When you want to get on your pool lounger, you have to crawl on from the end. You cannot put your drink on the ground beside you since the loungers were generally touching. On the upper seating area around the pool, the running track goes right by the ends of your loungers so joggers have to run right by the end of the loungers and you have to be careful when getting off them. 3. We felt that on port days , if you didn't go ashore or were back early and didn't want to be outside at the pool, there were virtually no activities available. When we returned early from port ( at about 2:30), on the lower areas of the ship, virtually all the bars were closed and it took us about 45 minutes to locate one where we could get a beer. This is totally different on Princess where both for food and bar service and activities, it seems there is always something going on in the Atrium ( or Piazza as they call it). 4. Up on the pool deck, we were not impressed with the bar staff. With some exceptions, we did not find them to be particularly friendly or attentive. 5. The buffet was not well designed for flow and there were many lineups at certain stations and a lot of cutting in and some conflict. Also when the formal lunch time ended, there was a very minimal section open with very limited selection. On Princess, it always seems there is plentiful selection at all times of day. Service on the back open deck was terrible and we complained about it. 6 As a design note, I don't get the big lawn. It seems very wasted space. Most of the time, there were notes not to walk on it. In general, we decided we would not return to a cruise on Celebrity . Read Less

I took this cruise with a friend of mine. We have cruised several times together over the past 12 years. She had booked it prior and I was added to the cabin. Check in: This is the first time I boarded in Miami. I was impressed with the facilities We are Elite members of Captains club and we filled out the xpass prior to sailing, so check in was a breeze. It took minutes and we were off to the ship. Cabin: We had a deck 6 cabin with a very reasonable price. But it was an obstructed view cabin, so the life boats blocked the view if you were sitting on the verandah, but you could stand and see over them and see the ocean. I am not sure that I would book another obstructed view cabin, but it was fine. Our cabin steward was very attentive. Our room was always cleaned, we had fresh towels all of the time. He went above an beyond if we asked Main Dining Room: Our waiter was not very attentive the first night. The hostess had sat people at our table accidently and the waiter handled the whole thing very poorly. Instead of just seating us at the other table neaby, he chose to move the people that were already seating, with menus and bread. He did make up for it by the next night. And turned out to be a great waiter. Dinners were okay. I did not have any dinners in the main dining room that wowed me. They were average. Thinks were good tasting, but not as good as prior years. Bars: We had a few bartenders that remembered us from other cruises and they took very good care of us. Getting to know the staff is always fun and they have great hints about places to see and things to do. A little extra tip goes a long way with them. Even with a beverage package, we tip the bartenders. They work hard!!! We spent a lot of time in the Sunset bar area. On this ship the bar is sunken. We were usually able to get seats at the bar, but the areas around had nice relaxing seats. It is in the aft part of the ship beyond the Lawn. I got to taste a variety of drinks with my drink package. Quisine: We ate here mid week. We had a table for 12 and we had excellent service. Our waiter really knew the menu and what to suggest for our large party. It was one of the best meals we had all week. Lawn Club Grill: We ate here mid week as well. It was not as good as the last time I ate here 3 years ago on Silhoutte. I was not really impressed with the service here either. Esp since you have to pay extra for the specialty restaurant. I think the service should be above. I think the service here is better for smaller parties. Entertainment: I did go to a couple of shows and saw the comedian. They were good. I didn't really spend time doing other activities this trip. Shore Excursions: We booked 3 excursions this trip. I usually don't book excursions. I will say that celebrity works with other companies on the island and they do a great job. I felt safe and was entertained. Cozumel: Today we just walked around and shopped. Definately take a taxi and go into town. Go all the way to the end to Los Cinco Soles and there is plenty of shopping and eating. Silver is pretty cheap in Cozumel. I also aways buy Vanilla. We ate lunch at Senor Frogs at the peer. It was okay Caymen: Today we went on the Dolphin excursion. It was just my friend and I. We had booked the cheaper of the 2 excursions. There were only 4 people in our group. You definately need water shoes. We got in a pool with a dolphin and go to play with her. Then we got to go into another pool with a 2nd dolphin and played some more. I was amazed how much time we got. It seemed as if our experience was way better than the one that was more expensive. What they don't tell you is they take a ton of pictures and they are not cheap!! Luckily you can have mutiple copies of the disk. Jamaica; We booked the Blue Hole/ Tubing experience. It was a day long adventure. We were on a bus that took us about 2 hours away. We first did Blue hole where you climb up a rocks towards a cliff type area and you jump into a hole of water. It really was amazing. The tour guide were very attentive and when I decided to chicken out on the jump, they were okay and made sure I got down safely. We then took a short bus ride to the tubing experience. That was a lot of fun as well and again the guides were very attentive. We then had lunch-Of couse Jamician Jerk chicken, rice and rum punch. The bus brought us right back to where the ship was docked and we had a little time to look at the crafts the locals had in a small shop area. Labadee: This place was really awesome. It is a private island and they take entertainment, food and drinks off the ship and onto the island. Our bartender friends tolds us where to go. First we did the Zip line here. That was incredable. They start you with a shorter smaller one to test you out and then a bigger one that was awesome. You zip over water. The top was a little scary and they had military guards around, which was a little unsettling. I guess for protection for guests. After Zipping, we went to the buffet and found our bartender at one of the bars. The food was good. Hambergers, Hotdogs, salads, chicken, and desserts. They also had local selling their merchandise. I got a few cute lone of a kind items. Shops on board: I like the $10 sale. and I got a few different items. I also go some costume jewerly that many people comment on today. They usually have a sale on tshirts mid week. so you can get shirts for folks back home at a decent price. Disembarkation: We waited in a nice lounge while the called the numbers and once they called us we walked off the ship and to the luggage area. They have luggage carousels here instead of the warehouse with long rows. I think this way is easier. We had later flight so we were not in a rush. I think if the food would have been a little better, then maybe I could have had 5 stars on the rating. But I will definately cruise again on Celebrity. Read Less

Boarding was slick in Miami and we were on board within 20 minutes, eating lunch at Ocean View Café. Travelled with 2 children aged 9 and 8 and there were a large amount of children on board which meant kids club had plenty of attendance at activities. Children loved the cruise and choice of activities and food on board. We enjoyed the variety of eating and drinking options and tried Tuscan Grille, Lawn Club and main dining room. Food was excellent throughout cruise, although I would say service in main dining room was less than average, plenty of staff just not coordinated enough, wine service was poor and we found if you know exactly what you wanted you would receive before main course! We hires an alcove for first sea day and then Jamaica. we loved this feature and found it very peaceful. Entertainment was good, we enjoyed Tom Franeck, the 70's evening, Elysium and a few other shows, also enjoyed the Martinin bar before dinner! Cozumel went to Playa Mai beach which we enjoyed but all inclusive not worth the money, Grand Cayman had a walk around, Jamaica we stayed on board and loved Labadee, the beaches were gorgeous. Overall an excellent cruise on a lovely ship, cannot wait to cruise again with Celebrity. Premium drinks package we got included within our rate as well as internet, tips and onboard credit - all felt good value for money. Read Less

Phi Tag was on two times and he was so funny. We loved him. Jesse Hamilton Jr was so talented and fun to watch. He can sing any song well. Loved him, too. Cozemel was OK, not great but we did take a great excursion there. We made chocolate and they told us all about the history and how to make it. I could never go back to Grand Cayman again and be happy. Very commercialized. We were there 13 yrs ago and it was not that way, but now it reminds me of a bad tourist area. Jamaica was great. Tubed down a lazy river and it was beautiful. zip lining not as much but OK. Labadee Haiti was beautiful Took a boat ride off the coast and they told us all about the local area, Jean was the boat captain and he was so friendly. Haiti has 80% unemployment, so be generous there. We love Celebrity. Read Less

We went on this cruise with another lovely couple who had purchased this cabin for a relative who couldn't end up using so we were lucky enough to have!!! And it coincided with my husbands 60th birthday so even better! As my first cruise I felt a bit spoiled - we had a lovely balcony room at the Aqua class level. The room was very nice, loved the bed - slept like a baby every night - and found accommodations very much above what I envisioned! Room attendant was good - but nothing to rave about. Agree with some other comments about the afternoon crudites - don't bother - although a nice touch the chips were stale every day and i think they should explore other options. Additionally the tea left in the room daily wasn't that good either. Would prefer to see coffee brought each morning or left in the room. So - there were definitely pro's and cons to this trip and I will start with the pro's: Great food experience - being a aqua class level, we had access to Blu as our restaurant - and it did NOT disappoint. The waitstaff and wine sommelier were outstanding - we LOVED Rene Bresley and Violeta!!! We did have one issue one morning where we waited over 20 mins for anyone to take our breakfast order - but once we brought it to their attention they more than made up for it and the rest of the trip and meals were excellent. We did have dinner one night in Tuscan and it was good but Blu was much better! But again, the service was top notch and the wine selections and references were perfect. Embarkation and disembarkation were great - no issues and no time at all!!! Food in other areas was good - gelato was excellent, buffet was delish - although we didn't try everything - no sushi bar, lawn grill or porch as we didn't want to pay extra for that option what we did have for food was very good! Spa - went to the spa twice for 2 different services and it was very nice. One of the best massages i have ever had but a woman from Thailand who was small but mighty!!! The spa is huge and gorgeous but may also be too big - space could be utilized for a larger pool area (see below :) ) Excursions - didn't do any - did get off in each port to shop or sightsee but that was all we wanted to do. Cozumel was good shopping and we had a great lunch at Wet Wendy's (local reference ) and it was awesome!! Mariachi band and all and the food and drinks were great and the prices were LOW!!! Best bargain! Grand Cayman - very islandy vibe and fun to walk around- went back to boat early to try to enjoy the quiet pool area - just visited shops - didn't go beyond the gates based on warnings from others and was happy again to relax on the boat for a bit. Labadee - very nice island and excellent job by the ship getting all of the wonderful amenties off boat and set up a beautiful island experience! The weather, water and experience were great. One negative - the vendors - understandable that they are trying to make a living but their approach and methods put me off and make you uncomfortable and they are all selling the SAME things - not enjoyable and we totally ignored them. Casino was good - plenty of machines and tables for my liking! Ship was beautiful - but as a first time cruiser i don't have a lot to compare it to but it was very pretty, very clean and even though large it was easy to navigate. Cons - Bars - lines and not very friendly! These all appeared to be understaffed as there were always lines and wait times and I have to say that not one bartender was friendly or outgoing - all looked like they were miserable and just going thru the motions. And this was pretty much every bar that we went to and we went to all! The drinks themselves were very good and nice menu options but there is definitely no over pouring or "oversized" drinks on board - which is fine just means you go to the bar more and have to deal with the wait and the mediocre service. Entertainment - eh - so, so - i was expecting much more from what i had heard and was a bit disappointed. Elevators - most of the time there was a long wait for the elevators. I am not opposed to using the stairs but some nights just didn't want to do 7 flights after dinner and a show. Pools - this was probably the most disappointing! There were 2 very small pools in which one was a "kids" pool and considering that there aren't usually small children aboard - it was frustrating. These pools were the size of postage stamps! And for 3000 people on board and almost 3 days at sea - makes for a very frustrating time to find space at or around the pool. People also "reserve" spots and don't use them and despite what Celebrity says about removing towels - this never ever happens so you then have to do what they do and go "reserve" your own spots but then actually use them. The Lawn area is a waste - it only got used on sea days as people laid on it because there were no chairs or lounges but other than that no one used that area for anything and its NOT close to the pool so I am not sure I understand the point of it as there are many other areas on the ship to relax. Activities - again, eh - i wish I had taken advantage of some of the daily exercise options but timing didn't work out but besides that there wasn't much i was interested in. Games or movies aren't my bag on vacation so it could be me but overall I didn't feel that there was an overwhelming variety of choices. In summary - I enjoyed this cruise a lot!! and I would take another one in the future but can't say it would be on Celebrity as I would like to explore other ships and read other reviews. I felt it was a good value for the price and would recommend although for the sake of cost I would never go out of Miami during the spring break time frame - we paid thru the nose for airfare and hotels because of the timing!! Additionally, as English speaking travelers we were definitely in the minority as there was a very heavy international crowd on this ship at this time which is fine but I wasn't expecting it. Just food for thought and I will definitely sail again in the future! Read Less

Having previously cruised on Celebrity, I had high standards as I knew what to expect from the top of the contemporary style cruises. This ship blew me away with good customer service, luxury style dining rooms, and entertainment. It didn't feel crowded at all and there was lots for everyone of all ages to do without feeling like an amusement park. Our balcony cabin size was good, a bit cramped for my liking. The food was amazing, the specialty restaurant Qsine was a one-of-a-kind experience and it was one of the highlights of the trip. I don't remember any of the shows we saw so that tells me they weren't unforgettably amazing like Royal Caribbeans' entertainment. The ports were pretty popular so if you are looking for secluded or exclusive ports that other ships can't access then this isn't your cruise. However the staff did a great job of making you feel special. Celebrity is the best of its class, hands down. It is the perfect option for travelers who want a step up from Royal Caribbean but are not ready to try a luxury line yet. I would highly recommend to anyone! Read Less

Wife and I are in our early-mid 50's, but pretty hip so not into an "old people" cruise at all. We had sailed on Celeb Summit last year (first cruise) and had a REALLY great experience so decided to give it another whirl this year for the kids Spring Break. Overall good, but nowhere near the positive level of experience as last year. Reflection is a nice, big boat, but felt far more impersonal, no real quiet outdoor areas, mediocre entertainment, etc. Room was good with a decent balcony, but LOUD for many reasons. Food was very good, but not as varied as Summit. Ports were ok, but we're not big port fans - one exception was Labadee - AWESOME! Opus Dining Room was ok, but not as good as Summit overall. Food was ok in the dining room, but nothing special. Felt like the cafe food level plated for you. Wines were average level and we had the premium drink level. Saw a few wines I buy at Costco for around $10-12 per bottle. Service overall was good, but bar service tended to be problematic in the popular areas. Loved our room attendant. Overall somewhere between a 3 and 4. As my cabin review states, I had trouble with noise in the room. I also tried to get some down time around the pool - that wasn't happening. WHAT IS IT WITH CRUISES THINKING THEY CONSTANTLY HAVE TO BLAST MUSIC??? Yes, I had to yell that. I would start to nod off around the pool in a shady area and then there would be some band or DJ starting up. The DJ was EXTRAORDINARILY annoying running silly pool games, etc. Annoying voice and shouting all the time. Interestingly had an overnight in Miami before we sailed and the hotel had very cool hipster lounge music playing at the pool at reasonable volumes. Really enjoyed that. This was more akin to a college Spring Break Lauderdale pool without all the hot bodies around. Seriously Celeb - please get a clue on this. Most of your clientele aren't into this. We're not huge port fans. Always feel like it's the tourist hustle. Did the Jamaica zip line / tubing excursion which was OK. Chukka is the company that runs it. Not bad. Staff was great and a very good jerk chicken lunch! The real treat was Labadee, Haiti. This a private resort owned by RC / Celeb. It is AWESOME. Beautiful, clean, not commercialized. Fantastic beaches, zip lines, tours, etc. Just gorgeous. Entertainment was mediocre. Couple of good comedians. Everything else was a total bore. Why not show movies? That would have been better. I took my daughter on this cruise to celebrate her upcoming marriage and my birthday. The average person on the cruise was retired and seemed to want a more staid environment. There were few children on board. We stayed in Aqua Class and I would absolutely recommend Aqua Class due to Blu restaurant. Blu was a big highlight...the food and service were simply outstanding and there was nothing the friendly and amazing staff wouldn't do for us. Every night the Sommelier brought us our favorite cocktails without asking, and the staff always greeted us and treated us like royalty. Breakfast there was a treat as well. If you are at all debating, go for Aqua Class. We also ate in QSine the first night because they offered 50% off of the cover charge. I liked it better than my daughter did, probably because I am not used to high tech restaurants. The food presentation, taste, and creativity was amazing! I am still thinking about it. We were on the Eastern Caribbean route, and booked our excursions through Viatour instead of on the ship. I always recommend not booking the ship's excursions as they are overpriced and not nearly as good as what you can book on your own. My daughter and I seemed to be on a different schedule than the rest of the ship and were very surprised at the meal and snack schedules. I found the buffet to be pretty bad, mainly because the food selection and presentation was not to my taste. We also were on a different planet about the shows, which was at the level of a high school performance with laughable choreography and costumes. The comedian did a dated bit that he has probably done a million times. However, most of the quests liked the shows. We thought the musicians scattered around the ship were very good. We upgraded to the Premium Drink Package which is another big recommendation. Before we got on the ship I was confused as to whether lattes, etc. were included in the standard package (they are, but we received different answers from Celebrity on this beforehand) and upgraded because I thought they weren't. However, I am glad that we upgraded anyway, because we could have any drink on the ship we wanted, and I enjoyed tasting some of the specialty drinks and never being concerned about an up charge. We especially loved the Silent Disco and water color painting classes. This is not a party cruise by any means, and those who favor a relaxing, quiet atmosphere will enjoy this cruise. I personally prefer more "joyous" activities. The casino was another low point, with old, uninteresting machines, no personnel to great you, and unfriendly atmosphere all around. It simply did not make sense to us that such a beautiful ship has an older casino that did not care if anyone visited it or not. That being said, my daughter won a jackpot by some fluke, and did not receive any kind of friendly treatment or fanfare. I simply stopped going there at night, which was disappointing because I certainly would have gone every night if the casino was more fun and inviting. The ship is immaculately clean, beautifully appointed, and has a a very lovely staff. There are beautiful places to sit if you do not want to sit right around the pool, which my daughter and I appreciated. Read Less

We wanted to try Celebrity, as we had heard a lot of great things about this line and about Reflection in particular. While we came away impressed with both, I do not think this line or ship is better than some that we have sailed on Princess, with the exception of the amount of dining venues on Reflection. Both on and off the ship were routine. Suite class embarkation went smoothly. Dining on this ship was the primary feature that I would say differentiates her from some others. We ate at all specialty dining options and found them all to be very nice. Wait staff was helpful and courteous, as expected. Our favorite was Tuscany Grill. Our Sky Suite was located at the rear of the ship and larger than most. It offered a great view from the rear balcony. Suite accommodations were very nice and our cabin attendant was great. Entertainment on the ship was not that impressive. They had three shows by the same group and they seemed to choose obscure songs that few knew. They were talented performers, but we found these shows some of the least exciting that we had seen in 16 cruises. Could be us I suppose, but we felt many ships on Princess, Royal Caribbean, and NCL provided much better entertainment. The shore excursion options were good at each port. Daily activities for the 3 at sea days seemed lacking in more fun activities. The Persian Garden (Thermal Suite) was very nice. However, don't be fooled by them when they say they only sell 50 passes. This was very crowded and noisy. We seldom used it. Overall I would recommend this cruise for those that want to relax, have great dining and want beautiful accommodation. Read Less

Since we have done the eastern itinerary before, our priorities for this cruise were to relax, cruise in comfort, enjoy great dining, and entertainment. We were lucky enough to upgrade to a corner aft Sky Suite on deck 9 the week before the cruise, and opted for the Go Best package-which included: prem drink package, wifi, prepaid tips, and $300 ship board credit. So glad we upgraded, as this cruise experience exceeded our expectations for all.. We are a married couple, no kids, and in our late 50's for perspective. We live in the Tampa FL area so we drove to Miami the night before we departed and stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. What a great hotel and experience. Saturday we left the hotel at 10am, arrived at the pier, parked in the garage across from the ship, checked our bags, went thru check in, and we were aboard the ship by 1030am! Very smooth process all along the way. Embarkation process was flawless! On board by 1030, how can you beat that! We first explored the ship and it was in great condition. Very beautiful ship. We were greeted by every staff member we encountered. We had lunch in Luminae which I will review later. Our room was ready by 1:00. After reading many reviews on CC, we were very excited to book a Corner Aft Sky Suite. It was very spacious, great storage, and the view from our balcony was amazing. We met our cabin attendant Cipta, and he made sure we were well taken care of the entire trip. The room was also very quiet. The butler, (after reading alot about this on the CC boards), we knew that we would need to be proactive with what our needs/expectations would be. While our requests were minimal, Bojan spent the entire cruise offering additional services, including arranging for a guest relations escort to get off the ship early in St. Marteen so we could make an excursion we booked outside of Celebrity. He also arranged for us to have an earlier disembarkation time. Dining in Luminae- we were blown away by the level of service and food! We ate all breakfasts and dinners here, and a few lunches. The food was exceptional, particularly at dinner. This was by far the pampering and dining we were hoping for. Since we made a reservation each night, we were able to have the same table by the window for all meals, and our waiter Davut made our experience very special and fun. The entire staff in Luminae went out of their way to make our dining experience exceptional. This perk alone was worth booking a Sky Suite.. Michael's club- our first time here, and again another SS perk. Our bartender Thomas was great, very good at making drinks, and we enjoyed going every eve before dinner. The club was never crowded, and while all drinks are complimentary, even with the prem drink package, we preferred coming here, and being served by Thomas. You also have the flexibility to stop in anytime for waters, sodas, and beer. Very nice. The Entertainment was very good to excellent. The 2 comedians were both great. The special acts were also great, including the 3 singers that did a tribute to the music of Queen. The productions were all very good, some better than others. The live music on board in various lounges was very good, especially enjoyed Willian the Solo guitarist. The aerial artists in several of the shows were amazing. The staff aboard the ship, from the buffet staff (we had several lunches here), bartenders, Cafe Al Bacio staff, and everyone we encountered, were all extremely friendly and more than willing to help with any request. Since we had the premium drink package, we really took advantage of all of the coffee options in the Coffee Cafe al Bacio.. Never found the lines too long, and they were very good about moving people along. They were open by 630a each morning, so for early risers like us it was great. Ports and Excursions. We have done the Eastern route several times, so San Juan and St. Kits were only a brief get off the ship, walk around an hour, then return to the ship and enjoy having the Solarium Pool area to ourselves for the afternoon! We did book a tour in St. Marteen thru Captain Bob. We really enjoyed the 6 hour boat ride, snorkeling, beach,, and overall island tour with our captain,Brett. I highly recommend this tour, it was 6 hours, and well worth it. Overall, The ship and staff of Reflection earned the highest marks from us. We designed our experience to be one of relaxing, dining, and entertainment, and Celebrity exceeded our expectations!! Read Less

We chose this cruise for several reasons. We had not been on Celebrity but heard good things and wanted to find out. We have previously cruised with Disney (LOVE) and Royal Caribbean (adequate but VERY good deal). We also specifically wanted this itinerary. I have no complaints at all. Embarkation, disembarkation were both smooth and easy. The ship is beautiful and artwork is not only varied but everywhere! The Cabin was very nice and VERY well kept by our steward. We stayed in an Aquaclass cabin (which at the time was a $60 per person upgrade) and it was definitely worth it. We enjoyed the small perks, especially the water and daily tea and small snack at 4:00. We also enjoyed the Persian gardens (not at all crowded even on sea days). The entertainment was varied and ranged from ok to excellent. But entertainment is a matter of taste. The performers were all VERY good and we LOVED the cruise director. The service was very good...sometimes a bit slow for us northerners but attentive and very accommodating to requests---even when we asked for an appetizer from the main dining room (we ate in BLU every night but one) they got it for us not complaints or long faces. We loved all of the ports. We did one ship excursion, the Island Tour of St. Maarten and enjoyed it very much, The booked our own beach excursion on St. Kitts- Carambola Beach Club- and even if it was a bit more money than other places, we ALL loved it!! We would definitely go again and are looking forward to sailing with Celebrity. There were four of us, two couples. I would say average age on this cruise was early 40;s and up. We are all in early 50's. The atmosphere of the ship is definitely relaxing. Plenty of partying going on but overall it is a quiet atmosphere. It was exactly what we wanted. Celebrity lived up to it's philosophy of sophisticated elegance. Wide variety of activities, some gaming, shopping, enrichment lectures, outdoor pool games, movies, entertainment, crafts, wine and food "classes" --lots more! Read Less

We had a great trip with almost perfect weather. The crowd was younger than expected which was nice. Upgraded to the premium liquor package which I thought was well worth it. Had some really good drinks at the World Class Bar. Thought the rooms were nice, if a little small and more suited for a couple as the closet is right beside one of the beds which when made up as singles makes it very hard for the other person to get near the closet. It was nice and quiet for sleeping and the beds were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well. The food was delicious overall and I would highly recommend the prime rib dinner. Actually all the steaks that I had were pretty good. They need to salt shakers/pepper shakers though as the salt literally pours out of some of them. It was very crowded around the pools on sea days. We found lots of nice little niches to play cards in or just relax though. I would definitely recommend this ship to anyone. It is beautifully maintained and everything was kept immaculately clean. Very disappointed in only Cruise Critic meeting that was scheduled in conflict with Captains Club cocktail party. Meals were very good in main dining room. Choices for entrees on 5 th night were overwhelming. Veal Corden Blu, Lamb Chops, Beef Wellington, and Lobster tail. Dining room staff were very efficient, friendly, and genuinely wanted to please. Room steward was also excellent. Embarkation was a breeze as was disembarkation. Did not get off at Georgetown. 6 ships, and do not like tenders to go ashore. Was impressed with Jamaica. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of history of the island and proud to be able to share. Asked if we had any questions all during tour. Port entry looked very new. Clean new stores vendor area. Plenty to do on Labadee. Enjoyed playing Bocce on the grass on the top deck. Pretty area, usually a quiet area. The Sky Lounge , a panoramic view, was where the Captains Club met daily for cocktails and hor derves. Late evening a live band . Read Less

My parents (energetic early 70s) are raving fans of Celebrity, so it was on their recommendation that this mid-forties adventurous couple booked our first cruise. We are old enough to remember 'Love Boat' but young enough to be wary of sequined evening gowns and tuxedos at dinner, and shuffleboard and cha cha lessons on the Lido Deck. Reflection, for the record, does not have a Lido Deck. I wanted to love this cruise - I really did. Pros: truly impeccable service. Easy-breezy embarkation and debarkation, breakfast delivery, turndown service, and dining. The staff are genuinely kind and go the extra mile in getting to know you, and how to delight and surprise you. You won't go more than 20 minutes without someone putting a drink in your hand, and that is without having to tip until the end of the cruise. Good luck finding this level of service at this price point. They could write a book on service design. Beautiful spa with emphasis on wellness, and some interesting offerings like acupuncture,Thai massage, and a Persian Garden (just try it). Very reasonable prices and good availability. I ended up making appointments three different times. Catherine (manicurist) and Kim (massage therapist) are among the most skilled I have encountered anywhere, and they genuinely are caring and kind. Wide variety of shore excursions that were the high points of our trip. Not a worry on logistics, safety, or cost. With the exception of Grand Cayman, we did not go to ports where you wanted to wander far from the secured dock area. It is worth it to book your excursions through the cruise. Some of these ports look like Disneyland but are not Disneyland. Typical passenger is retired American or Canadian, and typical dinner/hot tub conversation topics alternate between grandchildren and past cruises/the next cruise they plan to do on. Do not expect scintillating conversation about history, politics, metaphysics, or the meaning of life. On the flip side, you will find the other passengers considerate guests and a notable absence of 'frat party' or 'glorified daycare center' feel that ships with younger guests might have. I slept like a baby every night. Cons: the pool area is much, much too crowded. On both sea days, we were unable to find two empty deck chairs on two, yes two, decks. As we surveyed well over a thousand deck chairs, about half were occupied and half had been 'reserved' by placing some sort of personal object on the chair immediately after breakfast, and retrieving it around mid-afternoon. Simple math demonstrated the missing occupants were not using the pool. The staff allegedly confiscate said personal items after 20 minutes so others can use the chairs (ship policy). However, I cannot/did not see them doing that, nor would I want them to do that. The real scarcity of seating around the pool area creates a very rational response by the guests to stake out prime territory and fortify it, or forfeit the ability to use the pool facilities (as happened to us). The 'lawn club' is nice, Reflection, but I'm not at a public park where I should have to lay out my towel on grass just to have someplace to enjoy the open air. Pools are much too small and crowded, and by noon had acquired an opalescent color that is the broth of human soup. You wouldn't want to swim there, and there wasn't room to do so anyway. The lack of access to pool facilities could be acceptable, except for the fact that there is nothing else to do on the ship during the day other than sit near the pool. Every guest we talked to under the age of 50 was dying to get off the ship when it docked. When you can't use the pool on sea days, you go to your room and nap. I can do that at home or at a hotel. Create some more deck and seating areas, please. Good/bad: I had some excellent meals on the Reflection (sushi restaurant was a standout) and the buffet had some creative items like phenomenal Indian food and perfect British breakfast (bangers, blood sausage, grilled tomatoes). For the record, I am American and really enjoyed the variety and international flair of the buffet. The Opus dining room was just boring. The menu was old-fashioned prime rib, beef Wellington, and broiled lobster which very well was on the menu on the 1970s Love Boat. It would not kill the chefs to use some salt and pepper, never mind real spices. Bland and overcooked was the order of the day, and coupled with the rushed 'head them in and move them out' tempo we just ended up eating elsewhere. All in all - a perfect place to truly relax and reflect, but did not rock my world. We will book a stay at an eco lodge in Central America or the Pacific next time. Read Less

Celebrity has made my wife and I fall in love with cruising all over again. From the smooth running of embarkation (dockside to balcony) to the exclusive bar, restaurant and beach this was so much better than our past experiences. Best of all are the staff, friendly, helpful and fun doesn't seem adequate to describe them, they helped make it brilliant. The food and service in Luminae restaurant was so good we couldn't bring ourselves to try any of the speciality restaurants, although we did try the ultimate barbecue on the lawn deck, and we're very glad we did. It was like ballet with food, and excellent food at that. One night in the restaurant we were treated to a young girl on another table excitedly telling her grandma "I kissed a dolphin". It made everybody smile and on reflection this cruise has left us feeling that we all kissed a dolphin. Our thanks to everybody concerned. Read Less

This was our third cruise with Celebrity and our first on the Reflection. We arrived in Miami the day before our cruise and took a hotel shuttle to the port. Wait time to register and board ship was very speedy. We arrived at port by 10:20 and was on the ship by 11:00am. The ship was being inspected so passengers were unable to enter the buffet dining area until the inspection was complete (approximately 11:30am). The ship is very easy to negotiate for first time cruisers and seasoned Celebrity cruisers. There were a lot of activities throughout the days and nights on the ship to allow for inclusion for a wide range of cruisers and age groups. A noted activity that we have seen on previous Celebrity cruises we didn't see this time was the Captain's toast on the first sea night in the theater. This was always a great opportunity to see the senior staff. Also we noted that there was less opportunities to speak with the more senior staff of the ship compared to previous cruises with Celebrity. Food in the buffet dining room was hit or miss depending on the day or the time of day. There were numerous times when the food was cold or cool that should have been hot such as meats. The Opus Dining room didn't disappoint! Food selection and service was amazing as we expected it would be. Our service team shared recommendations and made substitutions if requested each time we were in the dining room. Our service team was very personable with the guests in our areas calling them by name and speaking about their day and activities they participated in that day. They also shared things of their day both on and off the ship allowing passengers to get to know their service team. We only took 3 off ship excursions that were booked through Celebrity. in Cozumel were went to the Discovery Cozumel Park. It was a great way to learn about the ruins and buildings in Mexico, Our guide was great sharing the information of the area. Our second tour was in Georgetown. We went to visit the turtle farm, which was a surprise to us, we went to Hell and then ended back near the port with a semi sub ride to see the coral and fish in the area. The excursion was exceptional. Our bus driver was a great tour guide sharing a lot of details along the journey. Great tour for kids as well. Our final excursion was the Dragon Tail Coaster (all day pass) in Labadee. We had rode this coaster before and it was a must do on our trip this time. Read Less

We loved the cruise on board the Celebrity Reflection. It started in Miami to the Western Caribbean. It was our second Cruise on Board of a Celebrity Ship. It was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and made us enjoying the whole cruise. The ship is beautiful and in a very good shape. We especially enjoyed the Solarium. The food was delicious, we ate most of the days in the Opus Main Dining room. Our cruise director Maarten as also very funny. The shows onboard where mostly fine. We did not liked the Elysium Production show, but the other ones were enjoyable. On board the guests have been quite international. A lot of US and Canadian guests. Our stateroom was good cared of and the veranda has a good size. We loved to enjoy breakfast at the veranda on Sea days. We would go again on Board any day. Hopefully it will be soon in the future.
