A Transatlantic cruise has been on my bucket list for a while. When I had the opportunity to do this cruise with family and friends, I decided to go for it. I was not disappointed. The sea days passed quickly with so many neat things going on that you couldn't pack them all in. Even though we had a few rough days, I did not get seasick and just let the rocking relax me! I enjoyed the diverse opportunities for activities. What made this cruise especially nice was the superb crew that in most cases could not do enough for you. There also seemed to be a wonderful camaraderie among the crew who all seemed to enjoy their jobs. Since Celebrity likes to advance people from within, I think this gives the crew incentive to do their very best. I did find some of the extra costs to be on the high side--like the Inside Access tour that was priced at $99. Areas that could be improved were the dining room chairs that were especially uncomfortable for short people and hard to move in for everyone. They were in need of being refurbished. Read Less

As usual the service of staff was outstanding! Officer presence was very nice. this was a transatlantic and the need o offer a variety of activities for the long sea days is important and I find it lacking from from previous TA's. Golf was offered for 3 days and since it was progressive...3 days was not enough, it would have been great to offer awards after. Tai Chi was nice, but offered if I remember 2-3 times, it would be nice to offer on all sea days and possibly a different location. Te lily cinema was not offered during the day....late at night or prior to dinner (problem for early diners. Celebrity entertainment great performers and singers but productions were beautiful but lacking. We loved the independent entertainers. Food and service was great in specialty restaurants....... Port information was lacking or not available , better if traveling the Caribbean...ie transportation options to city center (differed between each shore excursion representative and manager). I chose the cruise because of the ports. Loved tenerife because my wife and I went to Loro Park which was fantastic. Next was Malaga Spain, took free walking tour that was not so good, went to Picasso Museum which was not great, having seen Picasso works before. City is nice to walk around. Went to the Fort, Alhambra, which was a lot of walking for seniors. Next was Cartegena Spain, Very nice small city where we had churros and hot chocolate at Valor restaurant which was terrific. Used Wifi. Next was two days in Barcelona. Toured Sagrada church with audio tour, went for tapas at Barrio Biarritz, which was great, and then went to see spectacular Flamingo opera at the Palau de la Musica. Quick taxi back to the ship late at night. Next day walked around Gotic area and had churros and hot chocolate at Petritxol Xocoa. It was better at Valor. Used metro which was easy buying T10 ticket. Next was Villefranche. Took the Monte Carlo, Monaco tour. Next was Livorno. While most people visited Pisa or Florence, we already had seen those cities, so chose to stay in Livorno. Took the Livorno boat trip and had an good experience. Cruise ended in Rome. The food on the ship was excellent. Did not need to eat at any specialty restuarants. Shows were generally good. Production shows were not as good as the individual guest performers. Room was great. 16 day cruise but we had no problem with storing clothes since we brought with us a closet hanging shelves system from Target, and 3 foldable boxes to put in the storage area over the bed. I would definitely repeat a TA cruise. Only 1 bad day at sea. Weather was very good throughout the cruise trip. Read Less

The ports on this cruise were attractive even though we had already been to Tenerife and Malaga. We have friends in Malaga so this was a good opportunity to catch up with them. We boarded after 2 pm so there was no wait at all to board; very efficient procedure and our bags were in the cabin within a couple of hours. Service by the cabin attendant was at the usual high level. He was very friendly and always eager to please. But is it really necessary to be reminded that " a 10 is my favorite number" when completing the survey? Food in the main restaurant (Opus) was disappointing. We had sailed on Celebrity fifteen years or so ago and the quality was definitely better then. Of course we can pay $50 extra to dine at the Murano restaurant; but wait, there's more: if you decide to have the lobster it will be $29 more. We accepted an invitation to dine at Qsine when they offered a 50% discount fee on the $45 fee. We enjoyed it but thought that the normal fee was high. We only saw a couple of the shows and were not impressed so we stopped going to them. The daily activities were not attractive. My wife missed the cooking lessons that were offered on recent Holland America cruises. This is specially important with so many days at sea. We did find out about an anadvertised sushi presentation but that was an exception. Only one port required tendering (Villefranche) and that was fortunate as there was a very long wait to disembark. Disembarkation in Civitavecchia was very well executed with no long waits. Read Less

We booked this transatlantic cruise from Miami because we needed the rest before getting to Europe. Easy check in on the arrival in Miami Port. We sure had a relaxing time, we enjoyed the main dining room every night (we did not feel the need to try out the specialty restaurants), met lots of fellow travelers, had a great time at the shows, even though some were ok others were great. Our favourite was Mr. Bressler (pianist) very talented, the Beatles Review very well done. Elysium, did not feel a connection. Enjoyed the trivia challenges. The crew from the officers all the way to our cabin steward were courteous and seemed to enjoy being on the ship. Our cabin a superior balcony was lovely and practical, we loved the glass shower and our comfy bed. Thanks to our cabin steward Ian, he really made this cruise perfect. Our cruise ports were beautiful and all different, we really appreciated the 2 days in Barcelona. Loved Villefranche so quaint and pretty. Easy disembarkation in Civitavecchia. The night before the end of the cruise, we did not know if we should take our own luggage and walk off the ship or put them out the night before and hope it would not take to much time to find our luggage. We did not need to worry at all, our luggage was waiting for us in the hangar for an early taxi ride to Rome Termini. No need to worry, put out your luggage. It is an easy and quick disembarkation, as early as 07h15. We will cruise Celebrity again. Can't wait for the Edge next year... Read Less

Our 4th Celebrity Cruse and 2nd repositioning. The food was some what erratic in the main dinning room and actually sent back one meal. The Spa was nothing but a sales event. Had a good massage but she kept trying to up sell me from the beginning to the end. Attended a "posture evaluation" and all I got was a sales pitch for shoe inserts ( $100). The destination office told us that our trip to the Alhambra was canceled and that we were bumped for other quests. Checked with desk day before and told that was an error. If we had not checked, would have missed the tour. But the most disappointing was the quality of the entertainment as compared to our last repositioning cruise in 2010. The performers were very good but the few shows presented were very poor. The rest of the entertainment was not up to Celebrity standards. We were told that the company took the entertainment production in house instead of contractors. Big mistake. Will probably take Celebrity again but not exclusively as in the past. Read Less

I like Celebrity because they offer FRESHLY prepared food up in the Oceanview Cafe, not steam table food like most other ships. It was okay this year, but there was noticeable slippage in the variety and quality of the food. NO FRESH FISH was offered at the Buffet Grill in the evenings this year, an omission from last year. There was NO baby shrimp salad ever offered at the lunch Sandwich Station this year, again an omission this year. Chicken, chicken, chicken.........I thought I would cluck by the end of the cruise. Beef upstairs was always tough and flavorless. Desserts were all the same, ho hum. And the took away the peanut M&M's tag the Ice Cream bar and substituted jelly beans!! Really?? Fares went up and cuts, down to the M&M's........... In the Main Dining Room entrees were unappealing and a hit less often than a miss. On a positive note, this is the first year that both the waiter, his assistant, the cabin steward and his assistant KNEW my name and addressed me by it EVERY TIME we had contact from Day 1. And I have a difficult name to get right, and everyone (including security when they scanned my Sea Pass getting off and on the ship when in port) got it right. I love the TransAtlantic Cruises, especially the Sea Days, so I love this cruise lines for the option they provide for relaxing and doing nothing, which is just what I want to do........ Excursion to Granada and the Alhambra was outstanding and worth every cent. Read Less

We wanted to just get away from it all. The 8-days on the sea as part of the transatlantic part of the cruise was awesome! We really enjoyed that part so much!! We also enjoyed the ports we visited. Embarkation for us was easy! We were Aqua Class so we were able to board around 11AM and we made ourselves comfortable at the Martini Bar. This is where we met some really great people. Disembarkation was another whole story. It is hard to get 3,000 people off the ship in an easy manner. The elevators were always packed and it was very difficult to catch an elevator. We really enjoyed our room though. We were on deck 11 mid-ship. Our room was quiet and really enjoyable. Our cabin attendant, Baso, was awesome. Our dining room, Blu, was amazing! We loved all of the meals we had in the restaurant. Our dining room servers were so very attentive. We enjoyed the Martini Bar every night when they opened at 4:00 PM. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with people to see how their day went and what they did. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports and to enjoy the leisure time on the crossing. It was our first transatlantic cruise. The service from our butler and room steward were outstanding. We enjoyed dining in Luminae, however we were not always able to dine a the time we wanted. It seemed crowded at times. It was suggested that we should have reserved a time for dining in Luminae as soon as we boarded. We tried three of the specialty restaurants. The Grill was our favorite. We planned all of our shore excursions independently and they went well. They were cheaper and were smaller groups than the Celebrity excursions. All of our excursions were planned with other cruisers off of the cruise critic board. Our favorite port was Nice. We spent two extra night in Rome. The concierge in Michael's Club was very convenient and they were always helpful. Guest Relations usually had a line and they were not always helpful. My room key was disabled three times during the two week cruise. The fourth time Guest Relations told me not to use the room key holder (given to me by Celebrity on this cruise) because it would disable the card. They gave out sea pass/card holders to use which had a magnet so it disabled the card. Seems like they should have been on top of this. Read Less

Our transatlantic cruise from Miami to Rome on the Celebrity Reflection April-May 2017. Globally the cruise was okay, but to take advantage of the first 7 days at sea you had to speak English. The first seven days are important because all activates and ship life is on the ship. Since all activities except a few gym activities required English many where deprived of the advantages offered to guest that spook English. When you pay for a cruise the same price as everyone else you expect the same advantages. For this cruise this wasn't the case, When you take an international flight you have the choice of many movies in many languages, it is sad to say that the television on this cruise was horrible. At least if you couldn't participate in the activities on the cruise you could take in a movie in your language (they can do it on planes). Second remark, the library was a joke more books where on shelves that weren't accessible and again only in English (I know books are hard to get but I am sure I could find books in many languages and free.) The only documents that where available in different languages was the "TODAY" often badly translated and missing key information and the "Actuality pages". Like I explained in the beginning this was for the first part of the cruise, once you start having ports calls the problem disappears. Also some important alerts where announces by the Captain during bad weather and again only in English. For the crew members they were all very professional, but what saved the day during that difficult period for my wife is the evening meal (late seating OPUS restaurant table 126) because of the service and language support she got from our waitress Silvana. This was our 15th cruise and the second one with Celebrity Cruise, but it was the first time with as many days at sea without a port call. During that period of isolation more consideration should be show to none English speaking customers. Read Less

This was our third reposition cruise on Reflection. We love this ship as it has been very well maintained by the crews over the years. We rented a car for our one-way trip to Miami from Jacksonville ($50). Much cheaper than leaving a car in the port parking terminal at $20/day for 18 days. We had a car prepositioned in JAX for our return flight to the Florida ($5/day parking). Celebrity did a great job getting us checked in. We arrived just as the cabins were made available (1 PM) and had our luggage by 2:30 PM. It was also very efficient for the Rome (Civitavecchia) debark and airport transfer. Tip of the hat to the DaVinci Airport in Rome. The new terminal is fantastic. Can't believe they can support so many high-end stores in one location. This was in stark contrast to Gate 53 at JFK. Kennedy needs a major overhaul. The entire cruise was a pleasure. Martin, our Belgian cruise director, and his team did a great job with on-board activities. I really enjoyed the enrichment programs featuring the history of Rome and of the major ports we visited, We have visited all the ports on this cruise before but took s few new excursions. The trip to the top of Mount Tiede on Tenerife was incredible. If you have any interest in micro-climates, volcanoes, geology, or beautiful views, take this trip! I liked the right side of the tour bus for views over the cliffs as we climbed the mountain.Having seen the Alhambra (don't miss it!), we did an excursion to Granada for a self-guided walking tour. We were not smart and should have taken the Granada trolley or red bus (or cab) to really see the city. I wanted to get into the old part of the town and the Gypsy areas with cave-homes across from the Alhambra. Next time! In Villefranche we experienced the only bad weather of the trip (not counting rough seas for a couple of days). I had lived in the area 60+ years ago so my nostalgia trip was dampened. Had great help from Shawn in Shore Excursions working on some future cruise arrangements. He was very helpful getting details on our upcoming Baltic cruise. In fact, all the crew were great. If I had any issues, it would be the fitness center. Two years ago Celebrity took out a section of the gym to expand the revenue-generating Canyon Spa [They also took out half the Sky Lounge to build new suites]. This cruise they took out one of the four recumbent bikes (which I must use for my back). Two of the three recumbent bikes had maintenance issues. One was taken out of service for 5 days. While I much prefer daily afternoon workouts, demand for the bikes was so high I had to shift to 6 AM and sneak thru the fire doors to be first in line for the working bikes. But fitness center issues aside, we will continue to book this cruise - either west to east or east to west. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary (Miami to early off in Villefranche), the price, and one past experience with Celebrity which was mostly positive. The embarkation was smooth and efficient. Welcome buffet was good, and our stateroom was available earliest than usual. Our steward met us in the room, answered questions and began two weeks of excellent service. The room (deck 3, middle of ship) was smaller than some, but well laid out with plenty of storage. The bathroom was very good, with room in the shower to turn around. The location was a real plus on the one very rough afternoon and evening. Quite stable even as the waves crashed against the window. There was no clothesline in the shower which became important as the ship has no launderettes, a problem on a two week cruise. The ship laundry was very expensive and the full bag special at $50 was way overpriced. The food in Opus, the main dining room was very good to excellent. The service was good as well. We did open seating and only had to wait twice for a two-top. The food upstairs was also good, but the layout was confusing. Open air seating on the aft deck was lovely. We did not try any of the very expensive specialty restaurants nor did we buy the very expensive drinks package. One of us got the coffee/soda package which is worth the price for someone who likes good coffee. The public spaces were the noisiest of any ship we have ever been on. Hard to get away from the constant loud music even in places promoted as quiet. Only outdoors on deck five was it quiet. Near the pool was constant loud music or very loud group activities. The bars which often provide respite were full of art auctions and other such activities. The enrichment lectures were terrible. The lecturer on the Roman Empire (appropriate as the destination was Rome) did not know his subject, made lots of factual errors and tried to be funny. The Hollywood speaker was all about himself. The destination talks were pure sales pitches. No helpful information for those going ashore independently. On a seven sea day cruise enrichment is even more important. Celebrity failed this one. With the exception of the singer who did a Judy Garland evening and one of the acrobats who was terrific, the guest entertainers were from mediocre to embarrassing. The production nights were loud, the choreography awful, the stories ridiculous. If one closed one's eyes it would have been difficult to,tell the shows apart save for the gender of the lead singer. The entertainment in the foyer was better, particularly when dance music was played. Many people thoroughly enjoyed dancing. Given that we did not like the entertainment it would have been helpful to have a wider selection of in-room movies and TV shows. It was difficult to get information about our early departure, but in the event the staff were very helpful. It turned out to be the only tender port which made things more difficult, but the thirty or so of us who left did so first. Read Less

Last year we did the Reflection June 17 Mediterranean sailing. The ship was beautiful and our cabin was great (Standard Balcony on the Hump). But i wrote a review on some of the obstacles we encountered and never heard back; i did the Silhouette out of FTL for New Years Eve; and again sent a review and no feedback. It seems pointless to ask for reviews by Celebrity but not to get back any response from them is unnerving. We did the Transatlantic Sailing on 4/22 again we had a Standard Balcony on the 6th floor with a Hump Balcony; no complaints on the location and room. More on that later. We had rough seas the last couple of days before reaching Tenerife; and even though my husband and i do not get seasick; there were a couple of folks that had a rough time. At dinner one night waves were hitting our window; i don't think the captain put the stabilizers. I have done 2 prior TA's and the one before on the Connie; which was a smaller ship and the ocean was always as smooth as a plate. Port of calls were wonderful since we had not been to any of them except Barcelona and Rome; but we disembarked in Livorno to roam around Italy and France. Once again i feel that the cruise lines are nickel and diming us all; there was a special to buy the Beverage package about a month prior to the cruise; first time ever on a TA! but we do not drink enough to merit the amount charged...all in all since we are Elite we spent around $800 for both of us on the whole trip. Talking about Elite; i must say that it is embarrassing the way they go about giving their "free drinks" to us. First of all you have to go at a predetermined time (4-7) 2 bars only. The liquor offered is the cheapest available and the drinks are just bad! We used our coupons mostly on bottled water and went to the martini bar and bought our own drinks! It is a shame that the cruise lines don't take into consideration the amount of money one spends on cruising to reach a certain level to be treated so lowly that you have to have coupons and go at a special time to drink. If they are going to limit the drinks to 3 a piece why not put it on your card and let you drink them whenever you want! Just saying!! The other perks are good; breakfast at the Tuscan Grill (again nothing to brag about - pastries, cold cuts and the best part specialty coffee) We also made use of the laundry service which is great when you are on such a lengthy cruise and are trying to limit your suitcase size!! Speaking of Drinks..they keep raising the prices to push people into buying the beverage package..again a shame for a cruise line like Celebrity. I think people are willing to pay a little bit more to go on this class ship and not feel like they are on Carnival or a party cruise. We had dinner one time at the Tuscan Grill and was not happy with the new menu; the filet was a joke; and the explanation from the waiter did not help that it was because it came from the US instead of Europe where the cows are killed differently; lost him on that one!! In the past i have always enjoyed going to the Tuscan several nights; but in mho it was not worth the money; even though mid cruise we were invited to go to any specialty restaurant for the rest of the cruise at 50%. Not necessary; the food in the MDR was nothing to brag about but we always had the steak as a back up choice! The hostess at MDR 4th floor select dining was excellent (Anne) she always make sure to have our table ready for the same time and with the same wait staff; which were excellent..Shout out to table 488/9 - our Waiter, Eudel, Asst. Waiter Manuela, Beverage hostess Roxana, Wine Steward Enrike. Always greeted us by our names new what we like and make sure everything was taken car of. Cruise director was good a young guy; can't remember his name but he was always around and made sure everyone was having a good time. Casino was ok; paid out some nights and there were not many people playing so i guess this was not good for the house!! I won the slot tournament; but only because only like 15 folks played! Lucky i guess. They did have several events everyday to entice folks to play but not happening! All in all we had a great cruise met a wonderful family from UK which we will stay in touch with and it made dinners a lot more enjoyable with someone to exchange stories with! I will continue sailing on Celebrity; in fact have another one on the Equinox in July...but i sincerely hope that they do read these reviews and give us feedback! Read Less

Our cabin was a typical cruise cabin but enjoyed the extra space on the balcony. The dinning was endless (of course), the selections were great. The Speciality Dinning Rooms were excellent and the service was outstanding. The ports and excursions were wonderful. They made the disembarking as seamless as possible. We also had a wonderful experience at the Spa, the Persian Garden and the Solarium. Full disclosure - My husband and I are yoga instructors so personally, we would have enjoyed more true yoga and meditation classes rather then yoga classes from a fitness instructor. We also feel with the type of clientele on these cruises would also enjoy a more mindful educational experience. We loved Celebrity so much were booked our next cruise on the Edge. Read Less

We test drove Reflection Jan 2016 in the Caribbean, then decided to take her across the pond this April. We had a mid ship Aqua Class room which was kept sparkling by our cabin steward. Blue had a great rotational menu each night, and we supplemented it with 5 visits to Murano and Tuscan specialty restaurants. We met many new friends on board at The Martini Bar and participated on Cruise Critics Roll Call for the trip, which allowed us to interface with several hundred fellow passengers before we set sail and after we were on board. We organized a meet and greet sail away party at the Sunset Bar so we could put faces to the names from Cruise Critic Roll Call. The ports were fantastic as were the excursions. It was hard to get off the ship in Rome. We miss all our new friends already, esp the crew! Great Job Celebrity! Alan Read Less

We had the best time on the Celebrity Reflection Transatlantic, April 22-May 8, 2017. The ship was spotless, the crew and officers were friendly and approachable, the food was very good, and the entertainment was top notch. The ports were very interesting, beautiful, and worth the time: Tenerife, Canary Islands: explored, nice port Malaga: took the bus to Granada, but I read that Malaga is worth exploring Cartagena: new favorite port, beautiful, walkable, Roman amphitheater near the pier Barcelona: always lovely Villefranche: loved this port, so charming and took the train to Monte Carlo Livorno: stayed on the ship as we had been there before Civitavecchia: disembarked, stayed 3 nights in Tarquinia Tarquinia is a medieval walled hilltop city about 15-20 minutes from Civitavecchia. We stayed at the Tarquinia Resorts, which has apartments in three different buildings. We stayed in the apartment next to the Duomo in the Tullia studio apartment. This building was built in 1500 (ground floor) then added the next two floors in 1700! If you ever wanted to see what the apartments look like in the old buildings with the giant wooden doors and the arches and shutters, check out my Facebook post, which has 360 pictures here: https://www.facebook.com/pg/TravelPlanet360/photos/?tab=album&album_id=520807798309397 We highly recommend Tarquinia Resorts and the lovely city of Tarquinia. We chose this cruise because we had such a good experience last year in a suite on a Mediterranean trip. A few things have changed since last year that we do not feel were for the better. The butler service for suites is greatly reduced, the special restaurant Luminae was crowded and often too full to get a reservation during the usual eating hours for most Americans(6 to 8 pm). The cruise line suggests booking all your dinner reservations when you first board the ship but who wants that kind of fixed schedule when cruising to relax? The Luminae waiters are young and engaging, but they need more training in fine dining. The Michael's Club bar was very noisy. The excursions were predictable and in this age of internet searches and bookings many found more interesting and personalized trips online for less than Celebrity wanted for the ordinary. The shuttles to town from the port docks are now 5 or so euros and don't put you close to convenient spots in the town; several times considerable walking was required after leaving the bus to reach tourist areas or public transportation. Our cabin steward was terrific and the conceirges were most helpful. For us, what had been an exceptional experience last year was mediocre this year. Read Less

Celebrity is my cruise line because of the perks I get from Captains Club elite level. We have been on Celebrity 14 times over the years. The food quality which used to be fantastic is just not as good. Sirloin steak on menu is poor. Drink prices have become very high. $9 for a simple vodka tonic. One really good comedian, the Broadway music was good but other shows were ho hum. Too much up selling and not great quality goods in the shops. Won a necklace the first day out which had a supposed value of up to $1000 and I don!t think it is worth $30. Big disappointment in that. The Tuscon Grill was only OK, nothing special. Traveled with family group of 17 people and we had a good time but Celebrity is not the same as it used to be. Also 3 days of rough seas which caused us to only have 3 hours available in Puerto Rico so we didn't even get off the ship. Because it was Easter break there were a lot of kids who were basically well behaved except one group of boys and girls ages 10-13 who were all over the ship bragging about breaking all the rules. Would not book again at spring break. Will probably stay with Celebrity for another cruise or two. We will only book a balcony level and not concierge as there is just not enough value for the extra $400-$500. The casino dealers were not very friendly but some in our party did win a little. I chose this cruise for the itinerary. Had wanted at W Caribbean cruise for a change. Ship was gorgeous as always. MDR food was Excellent. Specialty Restaurants were Excellent, Buffet area is better than most, but still a buffet, where other cruisers can be rude and sloppy. Had the perfect weather. The comedy shows were excellent. Was delighted to see IMADE on the Reflection, I had seen him last on the Silhouette so of course the Martini Bar was my most favorite bar area to be in. 2nd being the Sunset Bar with Ricky and Jingle Bells. Did Celebrity excursions, Blue Hole tubing in Jamaica was an awecome experience, jumping off the rocks into the blue hole was breath taking. The Zipline in Labadee is a must do, if for nothing else the scenery is a don't miss! In Grand Cayman the dolphin encounter was way cool. Getting to be in the pool with the dolphins and touching them and kissing them was a great experience. Over all the ship was in excellent condition, the cabin was spacious, the staff is always happy and willing to make sure my cruise was the best it can be. This is my 15th Celebrity cruise and my 25th cruise overall, and I have to say, Celebrity is the cruise line for me. Reflection being my favorite of the Solstice class ships. Read Less

Background - This was our fifth cruise together, one with Princess and the rest with Celebrity, where we sail about every other year. My wife selected the ship and date while I helped with the cabin and pricing. We skew toward an older demographic but do not like anything too sedate and prefer things that are a little more upscale without any pretense. Our goal for this cruise was to have lots of time with each other as I travel extensively for work and my wife splits her time between work and volunteering in the community so this is our together time without distractions and no internet. Celebrity will sell you a network connection but we declined. Our cabins in the past have in Aqua Class but we found that we did not use some of the amenities and did get tired of eating in Blu every night. For this voyage we tried Concierge Class for two reasons - it was less expensive than Aqua Class and it offered the right amount of useful amenities for us. The cost saving on the cruise allowed us to dine in four speciality restaurants and still come out ahead. Travel to Port Area - Departure was from Miami but we flew into Ft. Lauderdale the day before using Southwest points then booked a Moveo ride to a hotel about 15 minutes from the port. Moveo was great from FLL to the hotel and the next morning we took a cab to the port arriving right around 11am. Embarkation - After dropping the bags with the porter we went through the layers of security in about 10 minutes then got into the correct line for our cabin class and walked right up to checkin. After the checkin process we went right on the ship and headed to Opus for lunch. Very smooth all around. General - Ship is in great condition and spotless plus all the staff we met were happy and helpful. The first leg of the trip was to San Juan and had a very strong headwind which made for a rough ride on the first two days. It was so bad they closed the Solarium pool as the wave action in the pool would empty one end overflow the other end. Even the crew remarked this was very rough for this time of year. Once we turned south the rest of the trip was much smoother. Some passengers reported motion sickness but I am immune to that and my wife said she felt woozy at times but it was tolerable. Cabin - 9271 Port side Aft The only difference I noticed between this cabin and one in Aqua is the shower in Aqua has more jets plus the provided soaps are a little nicer. Our bed was near the balcony. Being aft we felt movement of the ship when seas were rough and at times it work both of us up at night. Dining - We did not like Opus as the tables were close together and there is a high noise level which made conversations challenging. The food is good and varied and the wait staff is really tries but they do not seem to be empowered to fix problems. For the first two nights we ate at Qsine and Sushi on 5 then headed to Opus for the third night. Upon arrival the greeter sat us at our assigned table of 8 where the self-appointed leader of the table lit into us for failing to show up the past two nights and then began quizzing us about our political beliefs and educational background, "to see if we are smart enough to sit at the table". Not sure if she was crazy, intoxicated, both or something else. We politely excused ourselves from the table and requested to speak with someone about another table and was told to wait. We waited about ten minutes with no one talking to us then left. The next day one of the higher ups contacted us and profusely apologized stating that table was his trouble table and we should have been accommodated with a different table before confronting the troublemakers. He then gave us our choice of two speciality restaurants and moved us to Choice dining. So all told we enjoyed sampling each restaurant except for Lawn Club as the reservations had to moved due to high winds and found all of them great. Entertainment - We are not into production shows and more into music. Rick and Zoe were fantastic having a massive catalog of songs from different genres. The band Blind Vinyl was a poor cover band with the lead vocalist have terrible diction. The violin cello duo was very good and the solo guitar player was just OK. We are a little picky about music as we both have hobbies involving music. Most of our entertainment was being with each other and really connecting. Shore Excursions - Stayed on the ship in San Juan then in St Martin my wife did the Butterfly Tour which she really enjoyed while I went into town for a walk and lunch on the beach. In St Kitts we both did the 4x4 tour with the beach and enjoyed it very much. It is highly recommended on Trip Advisor and lives up to expectations. Disembarkation - We booked the Hop On Hop Off Miami tour that drops off at FLL. Tour was good except it rained a bit so we decided to head back to the transfer point early and get some lunch. The tour combines an overview of Miami with an airport drop off and is a good price plus it gets you off the ship quickly. We met at Central at 7:45am then was through processing and on the bus in 45 minutes. At 1pm another bus dropped us at the airport and we caught an Uber to our hotel before flying out Sunday morning. We like staying and extra day as that is less pressure on making a flight. Read Less

We decided to try this cruiseline based on previous comments as we had always taken Holland America, thus our comparison. The very first thing I noticed is that none of the staff treated you as though you were important. It was as though you were in their way, they were in a hurry to go nowhere and you were obstructing their path. • Was told by staff in Opus and Seaview Café to give all 10’s on the review • Was told by Crew Director several days to obtain staff names and write them down • Was told three days before cruise ended that the end of the cruise was near and reminded each day thereafter. • Seaview Café issues: o Smoked salmon not kept cold/cool – poorly presented. o Like an anthill with honey on it with people trying to get to food – improved layout would assist with this. o Lack of busing tables – often food/dirty tables were left for long periods o Staff wondering around not helping. o Never offered anything to drink with lunch/dinner such as iced tea /water. o Silverware had to search for it o Salad bar – different veggies on each side o Often food was mixed such as gluten foods in non gluten foods. Probably by children. o Counters not cleaned between pots. o Eggs often not cooked and partially raw o Bacon often not cooked well, still raw o Poached eggs cooked in advance with yellows like boiled eggs o Often no one at the gluten free stations or other stations o No presentation of foods, just in pots cooked in or appeared that way o Often milk or milk products were warm, never found it cold o No cream offered for coffee o Coffee often cool/cold o No fresh berries offered at any meals (Strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries etc) o Frozen berries offered that were smashed had no flavor at all and often rotten taste. o Saw seafood meal with rice offered at lunch and dinner for more than 4 hours o Food stations often changed locations so difficult to find items searched for previous meal or time of day. o Lack of seasoning of any kind for most foods although the Indian foods were better than other offerings. o Side dishes and type of meat did not go together. Cooked veggies need to be together. o Serving spoons often missing from dishes that should have had them replaced with grabbers which made it almost impossible to pick up items such as sweet potatoes, blood sausage, cooked veggies and chips…. o Fresh fruit very large pieces that had to be cut generally at least 4 times for bite size. Fresh fruit often not ripe or the parts closest to the core or the skin was used. o Soup was void of the product that it was named such as split pea. It looks green but no split peas appeared to be in the soup, same for gumbo. o Needed more vegetable options instead of all carbohydrates. o Cheese – white variety tasted spoiled. o Salmon Salad with mayo – very fishy smell. o Food being delivered to hot stations without any type of coverings from distances of more than 50 feet. o Food appeared and tasted as if poured from cans without any spices of any type. o Hams not fully cooked and very tough. o Serving ware on occasions was dirty. Other plates were so hot you could not hold them. o A lot of staff making multiple trips to the serving bars but not making good use of the trips often only carrying one item. o Appeared there was no working together of the teams in this area. o Very poor management and planning o Big windows for view and outdoor dining was a nice option. o Dining option for smokers would have been nice o Gluten free bread was very good. o Assembled sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, chips would be a good lunch offering in this venue. o Cheese plates were void o Grill areas did not indicate what was being offered nor what could be ordered. o Soft Serve Ice Cream should have been available to the customers without staff assistance similar to 15th floor service. o Salad greens had unusual taste, similar to that of end of season or over grown taste. o Dessert offerings were nice looking but the last day they took the best and held till that day. Each needed title such as egg custard, chocolate cake etc. • Opus Dining Room o Great friendly ladies working at front entry. o Gluten free options were nice. o Etiquette training needed here, such as placing napkins in lap (not reaching across the table and pitching it toward the other person), placing dishes and pouring drinks. o Lobster was overcooked and more concerning was the fishy smell which indicates that the food was not kept at correct temperature. o Trying to pass salmon off as trout. Salmon was very fishy smelling. o Ordered dinner previous night for gluten free but no one knew what was ordered or from who. (They did eventually come up with a order but it was incorrect and missing items) o Coffee offered or delivered after dessert was finished. o Wine pouring – when paying for each glass, servers re-pour without asking. Also the re-pour is not a whole serving. o Wine – Asian Female asked twice if wanted wine, said No twice, she brought glass anyway and began to serve, reminded her again that no wine was requested. o Alcohol – constantly questioning us that we did not have an alcohol package. Did not seem to know what to do. (Price too costly for those who do not drink until intoxicated). o Better service in this dining room but needed training on lying out of silverware and glasses. Not cool to serve water in gold fish bowls and very thin glass at that. o Tables too close to the glass wall in the center of the dining room, difficult to move chair and get into the chair. • Stateroom o Nice size rooms and closets with a lot of hangers. Safe in working order. o No retractable clothesline for wet swim suit in shower for drying o Robes too small for average-sized man o Beds and pillows are uncomfortably firm o Often A/C would go off and would get very warm or awake sweating o Breakfast not edible: Eggs, sausage, toast, coffee were served cold, while milk and melon very warm o Never knew room attendants name although he did a good job o Luggage was left outside of room when delivered o Two luggage tags were left for debarkation when we had four thus had to go to Customer Relations for additional and stand in very long line. o Poor line of soap, hair products in bathroom. Prefer dispensers for this. • Halls of Ship o Obstructions in hall such as trash, dishes, trays full of dirty dishes, vacuums etc. o Staff never allowed right of way to visitors, often pushed way around them • Communication o Ship Captain failed to inform us that we were in a Tropical Storm although we received notices via our cell phones thru weather services. o Ship Captain never updated us on the 30 year old male that was taken by US Coast Guard as he promised. o We could not hear the Ship Captain messages when in our state rooms. o Schedule of Events – mostly sales or options for the ship to make more money. Very few free events to attend without costs. • Boutiques / Shops o Clean and well maintained o Pricey o Need lower cost options as well • Bars o Service very slow, too few employees for the number of patrons o Often saw persons over-served with alcohol. Very intoxicated. o Needed more or larger smoking areas as they were packed all the time • Specialty Coffee Bar o Asian female rude to all and made one guy get back in line to get him and his wife a coffee. o Great pastries at this bar (Only place on ship with gluten free pastry that was excellent) • Sushi on Five o Great friendly quick service o Food was good but should be included in cost of cruise • Solarium o Awesome relaxing place o Good relaxation music o Great loungers and not to warm, like the partial open windows to allow air flow o Had the best coffee in the whole ship • 15th floor o Needed hand rail for both sides of walk ways on the deck. o Wind was painfully strong and dangerous for children and older people. Need notification or closure of area when winds of certain level are present. o Mast Grill Burger/Fries Area was nice. The food was very good. Best part they served to us individually and the public did not reach in and serve themselves. o Lawn Restaurant – over priced at $90, $60, $40 a couple.  Food came out of same door used for bathroom entrance from deck of ship and food not covered when came out the door  Not a good view, faced interior of ship although sold at seeing the ocean and great view. o Bars  Difficult to get to shady areas  Too small of areas  Needed larger smoking areas  Need more staff to handle number of patrons  SunSet Bar - Melvin / Santa / Jingle Bells – did a great job, great memory and super friendly to all.  Need better shelter from damaging winds  Ball Throwing needs to be further away from chairs for safety concerns  Costs for renting covered shelters too expensive at $249 day  Need water mopped up more regularly for safety concerns – often saw running water on deck and pools of water where deck had been washed off. • Casino o Very Clean o Colorful variety of gaming available o Full-service bar in casino was nice touch o Large area allowed comfortable seating • Music o Too LOUD in Center Entertainment area, was unable to get away from it. Intrusive in both upscale restaurants and library. o Not impressed with quality of talent. o Guy that played guitar was ok he was great whistler. o Karaoke – needs to be suited to audience age of songs offered. Some songs inappropriate for children. Indoor bars should be limited to persons over the age of 18 years of age. • Booking o Entered information 4 times before the information was retained in system o Provided credit card information 6 times before it actually stayed in system {although it DID work just fine to charge me for the cost of the cruise}. Spent more time in Customer Relations scanning card AGAIN once aboard ship o Received luggage tags following the cruise in my home mailbox o Received packet day prior to sail on the internet then was able to print luggage tags. o Input and received cruising number twice, the first one disappeared from system. o Price higher for this cruise line than other lines, thus had higher expectations. Always made to feel that we were less than for choosing the buffet or main dining room, rather than choosing the up-charge restaurants. Read Less

We picked this ship to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary on the advice of a friend who cruises on Reflection each year. Hubby and I booked a balcony in Aqua Class. We mostly took it easy and relaxed. We hit the hot tubs, the Persian Gardens (a fantastic perk with Aqua Class) and at at Blue 5 of the 7 nights. We at at Qsine one night, which was really good, but so much food! We couldn't even get through all the courses we wanted. For lunch several days we at at Sushi on 5. Hands down my favorite meals were at this restaurant. YUM. Our ship was doing the Eastern Caribbean and our first stop was to be San Juan. Sadly the seas were very choppy on Easter Sunday and it slowed us down, by the time we got to dock at San Juan it was dark and rainy, so we opted to stay onboard (our shore excursion had already been canceled). Second stop was St. Martin. We did a bus tour there and a little shopping, then back on ship for the hot tub and Persian Gardens. Third stop was my favorite. St. Kitts. We did the Beach Break excursion and oh my that was just fantastic. Beautiful island, mountains and beaches together is paradise. Back on the ship we visited the hot tubs and Persian Gardens. (see a theme forming here) Thursday was a sea day. We decided to do the All Access tour as we had onboard credit left over. Lots of walking and my feet hurt, but was really interesting. Glad we did it. Friday we had rented an Alcove up on the Lawn Deck. BEST DAY EVER. If you go on this ship and can afford it, rent an Alcove. You won't regret it. Would we go again? In a hot minute. Celebrity always provides a nice experience. We had a sunset balcony that we enjoyed. Our cabin attendant was wonderful. The food was good in the buffet and dinning room. The specialty restaurants were very good but book early to get your preferred time. We changed to anytime dining after the first nite because of an unfriendly waiter. We had good waiters every other nite.We had a large OBC but could not use until right before sailing so excursions and restaurants were difficult to book. We had drink packages which adds to the fun. They should let you use OBC as soon as you book. Some of the staff were excellent but there were several not up to Celebrity standards. We had been to these ports several times so found them average. The entertainment was good, especially the comedians. As usual, the ship was spotless. Overall this was not our best cruise experience but still an enjoyable cruise. Read Less
