First time I sailed with Celebrity Cruises and it was absolutely amazing. It was worth every penny. We were treated first class, the service was second to none. All staff were welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere on the ship was like one big happy family from both staff and guest. The food was of a high standard and a wide variety, fresh and taste was excellent. We were spoilt for choice. Certainly amazed at the standard of cleanliness and the whole operations of the ship. The rooms were spacious, clean and the steward assigned to the room was ver attentive and was very helpful. The facilities met every need of each gues. A variety of activities when at sea, you could do as much or as little as you want. If you take a cruise with Celebrity you will not be disappointed. Good selection of islands stops and use local transport. Highly recommended it will be a cruise liner/company I will be using again. Well done, i applaud you all for all you hard work and having a smile each day. GREAT!!!! Read Less

Celebrity Equinox had excellent food and service. I had dinner every night in the dining room. All my tablemates and I agreed the food was fantastic every night. I saw no reason to go to the specialty restaurants as the food was so good. Service was excellent, too. Even the buffets were very good with a huge variety of food. There was an excellent female singer at the pool and almost nightly singing in the main lobby, where people danced. The casino was very large and nonsmoking. They even had a $5 Blackjack table! There is a free children's program for each age group. I would highly recommend the Luggage Valet. It is $25. After you put your luggage out the last night, it is taken care of until you arrive at your home airport. You don't have to get it from the conveyer belt after you disembark the ship or lug it or carry it at anytime until after your flight home. I've used it on several cruises, and it is a pleasure and well worth the money!!!! Read Less

Surprises & pleased to see Captain Kate McCue! She is such a terrific marketing tool - she is so personal & interactive with the staff & passengers. We loved the Equinox - it was our 3rd time onboard. The ship personnel were excellent, food was plentiful, loved Cafe al Bacio, embarkation & disembarkation went very smoothly. Outstanding crew members: Oyda* (cabin steward) Oz* (He would make a terrific Cruise Director!) Kristine & Debbie (Activities) Kian*, Ari, Made (Passport Bar) Henry, Jennylyn, Arlyn & Ogyjen (Silhouette dining staff) & Cuma our waiter from 2017 Also: Don Ryan, Fabian & Mellanie Phillip, Gerald, Andrei, Angela & Agus (Cafe al Bacio) Raluca (Captains Club Host) Julie, Kathy, Edrilyn, Alexandra & Alexandra (Guest Relations) Gerlie* on deck 5 was very friendly (she wants to be a room steward) & Gusti (Cleaning Staff) * Denotes the staff we would like to take home with us! Kian we remembered from our Summit cruise to Quebec in 2016 & he remembered us also! POSITIVES: Loved being docked in New Orleans for 3 days & 2 nights. Lots to see & do - especially the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. That’s the main reason we booked this cruise. Plus we celebrated our 49th anniversary while on board! Calm seas, wonderful weather! Excellent staff, great food! PROBLEMS: 1) We were in cabin 3126 and nightly we were woken up by air conditioner noises that were coming from below us. The noise lasted from 30 seconds to 2 minutes with a loud whoosh at the end and happened about 3 times every 15 minutes. I called Guest Relation and they suggested that we call them the next time it happened and they would come in the room to listen. That was not a solution for us. They definitely could have heard it standing in the hall. 2) My husband performed the Heimlich maneuver on a fellow passenger who could not breath or talk at the entrance to the Silhouette Dining Room & was able to expel a piece of meat. While he was saving her life, I noticed that there were 3-4 cruise personnel just standing around helpless. Every staff member should be trained to perform the Heimlich maneuver. SUGGESTIONS: Movies in the mid-morning. Some movies were being shown during our lunch or dinner time. Need a light in the closet (hard to tell black from navy) Please offer the Cafe al Bacio plates in the gift shops - I would buy some! We personally preferred 2 smaller lobster tails to the 1 larger (it was tough) More sports challenges. Sudoku challenges - please bring those back. This cruise had none. Read Less

The ship is beautiful and very clean. The staff is awesome. We upgraded our first night dinner to the Murano, they offered a 30% discount on the first night. There was a "computer glitch" and they called to change our reservation to Thursday, but still honored the discounted rate. It is soooo worth it. The service is amazing. They cook table side and the presentation was spectacular. We also had the Classic Alcohol package. They changed two of our favorite drinks to the Premium, so Bailey's and Amaretto are a $1 upcharge. the bars always seemed busy, so it takes awhile to get served. Be sure to check the list of alcohol in each package so you aren't surprised by the upcharge. Food in the main dining room was OK. I ordered from the Classic menu three times because the offerings were not to my liking. One night the Salmon was so dry, I couldn't eat it. Our cabin stewart was great. We bring a small cooler and ask him to fill it with ice every night, so we have ice available for the next day at the pool or in port at a beach. You can take beverages off the ship, but you can't bring any back on. We traveled with three other couples, we had our rooms next to each other and asked for our balcony doors to be opened. It was great to have a four room balcony. Lots of great happy hours out there. We rented a golf cart in Key West and did our own tour. Went to Paradise Beach in Cozumel. $3 to get in, but have to spend $10 each on food/beverage, includes two lounge chairs and umbrella. Lots of fun water stuff for the kids. Rented golf carts in Costa Maya and did our own tour. Parked at a beach area and enjoyed the local beverages and shopping. Went outside the port area in Grand Cayman and got a tour guide, Brown Sugar, and she took us all over the island and gave us a local's prospective of everything, did a little shopping. Days at sea, the ship offers a lot of activities, so you can be as busy as you want or just laid back. Not many children on this ship, which allowed for a more adult time. Music and entertainment were great, enjoyed all the shows. The evening events at the pool were awesome. Great talented performers. Read Less

This was our 6th Celebrity cruise. The embarkation took 2 hours! The entertainment was below average and repetitive. Normally the music throughout the ship is professional but this trip it was horrible. We could not find one thing to do or listen to on a sea day. The educational programs were a joke. This was a Jazz theme cruise and they made no effort to incorporate more jazz into their programs except for a port day in New Orleans when we all were out at the Jazz fest. The food at the main dining room was mostly good with a few disappointing menu nights. What saved the cruise for us was the high quality of service we received across the ship. And the Murano and the Sushi on Five were incredibly good. Overall, the way the ship was managed shows that Celebrity is slipping in some areas. Maybe time for a look at Princess......... Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary with a three day stop in New Orleans for Jazzfest. It was an excellent cruise. The entertainment was excellent. My only criticism was boarding. It was the worst I have had in over 60 cruises. The ship was late due to repositioning from Fort Lauderdale. We were advised of that, but the checkin and was disorganized. The service aboard was excellent. The food was very good, but the variety was not as good in the main dining room. The hostess was excellent. She made sure we had the same waiters each night. The ship was handicapped friendly and enabled us to have a great vacation. The entertainment on the ship was very good. The six singers were outstanding as was the dancers. The guest entertainers were fairly average. We only took one shore excursion in Key West. It was a multilanguage tour on an accessible bus. We did New Orleans on our own with local transportation. We visited the French Quarter and the World War Two museum. Read Less
