We recently finished the 15 night cruise from Miami to San Diego through the Panama Canal. The Infinity was in very good shape especially as she to due to have many improvements made in the next 30 days. Yes the ship has some tired areas, cabin showers, carpet in high traffic areas, & painting the hull & other work areas. However this did not bother us & we found this crew very engaging & happy to ...
Cruise Critic Review: Panama Canal with Celebrity Infinity
We chose this cruise to celebrate our recent retirement, and the itinerary -- Miami to San Diego via Panama Canal -- attracted us. The canal has been a bucket list item and this 15 night cruise had seven (yes, seven!) days at sea. We love days at sea -- perfect for relaxing and being pampered aboard ship.
This was our third cruise ...
We choose this cruise mainly for the transit through the canal and the great weather. The cruise was booked approximately 2 years ago when suite guests still received two complimentary specialist dinning with we used in Qzine. This apparently has now been taken away unless you booked the very top suites? We used Qzine three times with the food being great on all occasions and the staff were ...
A really exciting experience visiting a part of the world we have never been and only seen on television. From the port of Cartagena in Columbia through the Panama canal to the rain forest of Costa Rica , volcanos in Guatamala then beautiful seaside resorts in Mexico was a true adventure .
The ship is majestic to say the least and nothing is too much trouble for the always happy crew . The ...
Trip through the Panama Canal to cross off bucket list item. Embarkation ran a little long but we had received an email from Celebrity warning of this due to just coming from South America so it was not unexpected. Upon boarding they were handing out free glasses of champagne to help smooth over the long boarding process and the fact that the rooms weren't quite ready yet. The instructions for the ...
The positives:
We appreciated their efforts to keep the ship clean and that they took extra precautions for the first few days.
Best embarkation and disembarkation including all ports that we've experienced ( this was our third cruise).
Great entertainment including the outstanding ship orchestra.
Friendly crew who went out of their way to provide great customer service.
Coffee ...
This the first millenium class ship for us. All our Celeb cruises have been Solstice so far.
Boarding long winded as there were only a few cameras and these required a long waiting line. Where are cameras, one per check in desk?
Had the classic drinks package and for the first few days had issues with bar staff not knowing what an Alabama Slammer was, including some rude attitude by the ...
Having tried several other cruise lines (Disney, Princess, Holland America, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean) we thought we'd give Celebrity a run. We had heard it was a step up in service and facilities. Sadly, we were disappointed. Service in the dining room was, for the most part, excellent, but the food itself was uninspired, bland and repetitive. How many times can you serve green beans and ...
We had a great time on this cruise. There was just the right amount of ports to sea days for us. There was plenty of time to do everything aboard the ship and since it was a smaller ship, it was easy to get seats at the shows and dinner. We opted for an Aqua Class room and loved the food at Blu. We've been staying in Aqua class for a while now and will continue to do so.
The ship was a nice ...
We chose this cruise to go to and through the Panama Canal and to end up in San Diego. The canal was fabulous. Passing through the locks in the old section was amazing. Visiting the new section, which is not yet open to cruise ships, was fascinating. It was great to see and understand the differences in engineering from past to present day.
The ship's staff was attentive, personable, and ...
