Our flight was delayed getting in to Miami and we called Carnival to notify them.
As a result, they were ready for us when we arrived which was a relief!
It was a 40th anniversary trip that left on Dec. 26.
We visited four ports and our favorite was Aruba to which we would return.
We enjoyed visiting the other three ports we saw as wall.
The food and service were great.
The ...
We sailed from December 26th to January 3rd, 2017. The route was Turk Caicos, La Romana, Aruba and Curazao. This was fine. But:
1- Poor meal variety
2- No a great quality of shows
3- The new year's eve was boring. The music stopped just at 12:30 AM in the main lobby.
4- They didn't honored the program and activities planned at some night clubs, for example, on December 31st, it was ...
We arrived in NYC from JFK air port with out any trouble and the gentleman that picked us up at the airport drove us thru time square and on to our hotel that was close to the port where we were to board the splendor ( several guests I spoke to aptly nicknamed the ship the "spinchter "). The process of getting on the ship was fairy easy if you like long lines and being photographed. We finally ...
I just wanted a cruise that would cross through Christmas and the children suggested we try Carnival.Firstly were left 2 hours late 6pm instead of 4pm so after getting to Miami and staying at a hotel a day in advance to be sure you are on time; waste of effort and money. I also need to suggest that a wind tunnel is no place for a safety briefing, other than the persons on the end the Team Members ...
The dining room is in need of management support. We had a table for 11. First, only 3 small servings of butter and 2 baskets of bread. This lasted about 5 minutes. When the salad arrived we could not get any butter or bread. Asked but the waiter stated that they have been instructed to NOT put baskets of bread on the table. We asked to have more bread and butter each day but it took 3 days ...
I chose the Carnival Splendor because the date is what we wanted and the itinerary was what we were looking for - Grand Turk, Dominican Republic (LaRomana), Curacao and Aruba.
The Splendor, although an older ship, was fine....the decor is somewhat outdated. We were in a cabin on Deck 8 with a balcony and it was a nice sized room and comfortable for the two of us.
This was my 7th cruise (3rd ...
I've cruised a lot in the Caribbean on many lines, including Windjammer (which, sadly, is no longer). I'd never made it to Grand Turk or the ABC islands so we booked the Splendor out of Miami. 1. Embarkation: a lot of people milling around outside in the sun until their time slots were called to enter the cruise terminal. Once inside it was crowded and it took another hour before our zone was ...
My wife and I have been on 3 other cruise lines but this cruise on the Splendor was memorable - not just because of the company we had.
Food and dining options were very good: we didn't even have to pay for specialty dining. Our servers paid attention to our preferences and knew what we wanted whenever we sat down. They were very cheerful and helpful - especially Suphardi (female Thai server ...
We had a total of 29 family and friends attend this cruise for my niece wedding
planned this cruise in almost a years time
the wedding turned out amazing , but the cruise it self was horrible
we are platinum VIP with Carnival and i am really considering to go somewhere else to cruise , the ship smell terrible , staff was very rude , it appears that they were under staffed
we waited ...
Sometimes when I read these reviews I wonder what people expect from other people! The people on every cruise ship I have ever been on work day and night to provide wealthy individuals, (if you are on a cruise you should consider yourself wealthy in relation to global population) with as great an experience as possible. Was this cruise perfect? Nope. Was I disappointed at times? Yup. But ...
