TRULY WAY EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I have cruised many many times but have not cruised Carnival for many many years, choosing instead the supposedly more upscale cruises on NCL, RCL, Celebrity. I chose this as I was the cruise planner for 3 of my family, 2 of which, had never cruised before. I needed to keep the price affordable for them, but also provide them with the best cruising experience with several ports of call, good and multiple free food options on the ship, and lots of activities on the ship. Spouse and I had not had the best experience on Carnival previously (though this was many many years ago) as far as customer experience, rowdiness on the ship, etc. However, this experience blew my concerns totally out of the water - pun intended! This was the absolute best cruise I have ever taken and I've taken many! The ship Glory, though an older ship, is updated, clean and beautiful. Staff are constantly cleaning every aspect of the ship. As a health care professional, I appreciated their attention to infection control from the environment to the food prep and service. It is clear, in all aspects, that safety is first! The customer service was perfect - impeccable from every staff member we encountered, no matter what position - very impressive! All staff were friendly, attentive, helpful, ALWAYS! Food was excellent! Family loved the main dining room - with great and multiple food choices - and the entertainment every evening by the singing/dancing wait staff! There were also multiple free food options, other than the dining room, - also very good - and more free options than I've seen on other cruise lines! Ship entertainment was phenomenal and by far, the best I have ever experienced on a cruise!!!! If someone did not have fun on this ship, they must be dead! So many options - from comedy shows, lido deck parties, production shows, game shows, movies, dancing, water park/slides, mini golf, plus the usual running/walking track, enrichment activities, gym, spa, casino, shopping, etc.. There was multiple live music venues always going at various locations on the ship -something for everyone - and all of the music was terrific! I also appreciated Carnival's support and fundraising for St. Judes. CARNIVAL LIVES UP TO ITS NAME AS THE FUN SHIP!!! The Carnival excursions were also very good and well run (speaking from what excursions we took). COOKIE IS THE BEST ACTIVITY CRUISE DIRECTOR EVER!!! I love you Cookie! He is the best I've every had the pleasure of experiencing!! His humor, and superior people and organization skills, truly made this cruise so memorable!! He is A+!! The guy never stops working! of the and he truly seems to love what he does. The ship appears to be very well run - especially in crowd control -considering there were almost 3000 passengers on board (and only slightly less staff). There were not long lines for dining, etc.; ship does not feel crowded, enough pool lounge chairs, etc. Embark and debark process were also the easiest, fastest, and smoothiest I've ever seen in my many cruises! My only tiny complaint was regarding gym/spa. I would like to have seen more exercise classes offered, not just the few few yoga/pilates...for example, Zumba, Jazzercize-type classes, etc. Carnival - you definitely wowed me and I'll be back!!! We chose this particular cruise because of the date and itinerary. First cruise for me and fourth for my wife. Problems with Carnival's transportation from the airport but great accommodation at embarkation! First impression: The Glory is a GORGEOUS SHIP! We had a fabulous balcony stateroom with excellent service. Food was fabulous at the main dining room (Platinum) and plenty of options for lunch every day. No excuse not to be happy with SOMETHING that was there! Lots of beautiful desserts and fruit too! We loved the couple that was assigned to sit with us every night in the dining room. 98% of our fellow cruisers were so much fun and wanted to be friendly and enjoy. The wait staff was superb and talented! We loved Adam (our main dining waiter) and the rest of the staff. Food quality and presentation was mostly superb. The buffets were of lesser quality but wide variety that can easily satisfy your appetite. We loved their lemonade!! There is so much to do on the ship. Now that I reflect back on the cruise, we could have spent the entire time on the ship and explore all the activities rather than go onshore and do excursions. We were going to get off the ship and do the tourist thing and support the local economies! We are disappointed that we never went down the tubes or went in any of the pools. We really liked how the Glory had a separate "Adults Only" section that we enjoyed to lay on the loungers and enjoy the beautiful views. Actually, the few children we saw on board were well behaved and a credit to their families. Quite a few infants and toddlers that were so cute. I personally did not like how the ship pushes alcohol especially in the form of shots during dinner times. They do not tell you it is an additional expense (I should know that by now) but you do get to keep the souvenir shot glass for $10. We had a fabulous excursion in Roatan Honduras! We did the snorkeling/beach excursion which included the skyrides - highly recommended! Not much to see as far as snorkeling but the water was gorgeous and staff friendly. We had a poor excursion in Belize. We bought the snorkeling excursion which required a long tender boat ride to the coral reefs. To our dismay, we already had a large group from the Glory and we picked up even more people from another ship! All in a boat too small for choppy water but I also understand it had to be small enough to let us get off and on from the excursion. Just way too many people on the excursion as a couple of people kept on running into me as I was snorkeling. Those people in back of the large group did not get the benefit on the one guide's statements. So we had about 20 minutes of actual snorkeling over the beautiful coral reefs with gorgeous fish and other sea life. Then we were brought back on the boat to the cove (island) for a break. Come to find out that was it and I was mad as I thought we got ripped off with such a short snorkeling experience! I wanted to go out by myself but I knew it was pretty far out from the island. It was windy but I still thought we should have had at least two passes through the coral and cut back on the number of people for one group. The de-embarkation was confusing as we had an excursion to the Everglades. Very long walk through customs and to the excursion which was very interesting and enjoyable. Read Less

My wife and I took this 7 night Caribbean cruise in February / 2019. Our boarding process was very fast compared to other cruises The ship has several attractions and places to have fun: table tennis, two water slides, swimming pools, plenty of deck chairs to sunbathe on the decks. The theater was never crowded at nightly shows. In two of the 7 nights, there was no show, but only entertainment by the Cruise Director, including situations in my view embarrassing, exposing the intimate life of couples. I'd rather have shows in place of these competitions. In the first morning I decided to order hot milk, but it was so hard to get it that the other days I gave up. Two employees serving on the deck 9 buffet told me they had no hot milk at all. Another employee who was collecting dishes told me that I could ask to warm up in the coffe shop. Then I went back to one of those who had denied the existence of hot milk and he took my cup with cold milk and brought hot and sparkling. Poor training and customer service In relation to food, in general it is varied and of great quality. The problem is the opening hours of the buffet for lunch (Deck 9). Each day it has a different time, if you are not aware of the brochure delivered in the cabin, you may miss the main meal. This also occurs during the stops, where you end up coming back later. After 2:30 pm depending on the day you only find pizza, sandwiches or cheeseburger to eat until dinner time (in my case it was 8:15 pm). They could leave at least some healthy and light food choices in this period, such as fruits and cookies. On other ships the buffet does not close all day, only decreasing the amount of food offerings. Information on stops, activities and excursions could be much better. I went to the excursion office to ask for hints and the attendant simply gave me a huge book, with hundreds of options for me to turn around, showing no interest in helping us choose. I did all the rides on my own, which was a lot cheaper than hiring in the ship. In regards to maps and information on the places the note is ZERO. They distribute a small map of each port, just to advertise for jewelry stores, without informing NOTHING about the place. An example: on Roatan Island, Honduras they distributed this useless map. At the end of the afternoon, almost at the time of our return we discovered that next to the port there is an excellent beach (Mahogany Beach), with all infrastructure (chairs, restaurants, shades) totally free. None of this was informed in the ship, so you have to pay the expensive excursions to go to other beaches. The constant warnings by the ship's sound system by the cruise director are very annoying and are often early in the morning, disrupting anyone who wants to sleep. Although it is a cruise leaving Miami, visiting Spanish-speaking countries, everything is in English, notices, leaflets etc. They could make versions of the most important instructions at least in other languages (as Disney parks do) TV works fine. Two channel with new movies, two for kids, one with CBSN and one with old B movies (this last always with a delay between image and sound). Read Less

This was our second Carnival Cruise. We have sailed on most lines but primarily Celebrity and Princess. We did a back to back sailing on the next February 16th Journeys cruise. I chose Carnival because of the ports of call on this cruise and the Journeys cruise. Quickest, easliest embarkation I have had in 30 plus crusies Main dining room food was good. Variety, good choices, great breakfasts overall I cannot complain about the Main Dining room food, The Lido buffet for breakfast, not many choices, and the same food every day. Lunch at the buffet was better, more daily changes and the highlight were the desserts for lunch the best I have ever seen but the Mexican, burgers, deli and Barbecue do help ad to the variety. Cabin, balcony, was fine. Enough storage. Only service the room 1 time a day unless you request 2 times. Once a day was fine for us. The ship takes getting use to finding you was around. You cannot get there from here, especially on deck 3 and 4. Seems to be enough deck space though not always around the pool. The pools are small. Not happy at all about photography stations. I counted 10 stations on deck 5 and another 4 on deck 3,deck 5 is the main thorofare, taking up chairs and space where we could sit before and after dinner. I guess we know where the profit is. That is why I rated Public Rooms as poor, they aren't public when they are taken up by Carnival selling something. Entertainment was good. Read Less

Our cruise was a romantic getaway for 2 40-something first time cruisers. PROs: The selection of ports (Grand Cayman/Roatan/Belize City/Cozumel), all the food options on the Glory, dive-in movies, omelette station, elegant dinner menu, functionality of the stateroom CONs: One of our ports was cancelled, ambiguity of excursion tickets, breakfast options besides the omelette station SHIP: I didn't see the rust others have written about, I thought the outside areas were fine. The interior of the ship looks like it was decorated in the 80's instead of 20 years ago. Just go in knowing the decor is not your primary reason for booking. ENTERTAINMENT: The sea was so choppy that the Motown show was just an hour of the singers sitting in chairs singing medleys. I would hope that it's much better with the dancing. But based off the rock show and another show we caught... the dancing didn't add much. I'd give them one star. We were happier watching movies on the Lido deck. The comedians were pretty good. Better get there early, the place gets packed for the late shows. I enjoy piano bars, so I made it there twice. I wouldn't recommend the singer we had, but he said it was his last cruise with Carnival so hopefully they bring on someone much better. We only attended the finale of the lip sync battle because we met one of the contestants during the week. We were pleasantly surprised, it was actually the best show we caught all week. The Cruise Director and fun squad get involved and it is very entertaining. The hairy chest contest was hilarious, but I don't recommend bringing kids to it. FOOD: Great selection of specialty venues, and most of them were free. I just wish those were open more often. The breakfast buffet is not good. We ended up with omelettes almost every day, which takes a bit longer standing in line. The desserts, even at the buffet, were delicious. We only ate in the main dining room twice. The food at the first elegant dinner was decent, but the second elegant dinner was one of my top 10 meals ever. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: We booked 2 excursions through Carnival - one in Grand Cayman and one in Belize. We weren't able to visit Grand Cayman due to the weather. You have to take a smaller boat called a tender to get on the island. The sea was too rough to throw a plank between the 2 boats, so we had another "fun day at sea" instead of what I was looking forward to most, swimming with stingrays. When they announced the news, the staff was not surprised. Someone asked how often this happens, and a staffer said 50%. I'm not sure if that's overall, or 50% of the time the water is choppy. But be warned if you plan on a Grand Cayman port - you might not get to see it. Thankfully Carnival automatically refunded our excursion fares. There is no communication on your Carnival excursions other than tickets delivered to your room the day prior. Out Belize excursion tickets read "Departs from: 7:45 am" and also "Depart time: 8:30 am". In my mind, we have to be at the location stated on board between 7:45-8:30 AM. We checked in to the meeting location before 8:30 AM and showed them our tickets. They advised us to have a seat until we're called. After we were called we waited on the steps for debarking about a half hour before our tender arrived. When we arrived in Belize City, we were told that we missed our tour! Cruise vets, please keep in mind we were first time cruisers. You need to go by the earliest time on your tickets. By the time they could find someone to help us, the other major tours were gone as well. So we went 0 for 2 on our Carnival-booked excursions. At least they credited us for this missed excursion as well, and we made the most out of the day with shopping and bars. The drinks are about $12 after gratuity and some occasional additional tips, so consider that when deciding on the drink package. We didn't get the package, but came within about $20 of it, so it actually is priced about right. Get the package if you're committed to drinking every day. Overall we were very happy with the experience despite some setbacks. I look forward to cruising again, possibly with Carnival. Read Less

Basic balcony room, with ocean view and chairs to kick back in. Housekeeping team were very efficient in maintaining our rooms. Dining was always on par, quick friendly service, all dining request were accomodated. Entertainment was a new group of performers that "WOW'ED" all of there shows. Those were the Pros; Cons; The ship's photographers were aggressive in getting photo's at every opportunity they see you. AVOID THE EFFY JEWELRY STORE! It is truly buyer beware at this place. I found a nice ring only later to find it was nothing more than costume jewelry grade piece at fine jewelry prices. Don't be dubbed as I was. Duty Free Store; If any of your have learn to price shop, then it should be obivous that there prices (even with rebates) are above the prices at your local CVS, Rite-Aid, etc. For the most part, the cruise forfilling there hospitalitly was Very Good to Excellent. We went on this cruise with friends. We had great meals at the steakhouse, platinum dining room for breakfast, and golden dining room for dinner. Our servers, Ronaldo, Wayan and Pira were awesome, making dinner fun and comfortable. We loved their song and dance shows. We went to many events on board including nightly shows in the amber room, they were all amazing! Singing, dancing, and comedy too. We ventured to the casino, comedy club and lido deck for movies. Staff were always helpful and friendly. The ports were nice and we loved our excursion in Cozumel with Sylvia taking us to the beach club and shopping. Tequila tasting and Fish pedicures! We returned to the ship early at each port to enjoy quiet time by the pool and in the hot tub. Jose was our server throughout the week, always having a drink ready to replace our empty glass, whether at the pool or in the comedy club. He always had recommendations and was a smiling face we enjoyed seeing each day. The Fun Squad was great, including Frankie the cruise director, CoCo, and JJ. We enjoyed trivia on several days with Milan. Always good for laughs. All and all, we had a great cruise and can't wait to do it again soon. Our only downfall was literally falling down. Three of the four in our party fell on the wet deck/floor after the rain. When the slippery when wet signs are out, be careful. Read Less

Carnival Glory's Room service they are the happiest people always saying hello knew our names. Our rooms were clean old decorating style. The Punchliner Comedy shows are hilarious. They have them every night but 1. I was disappointed that it was too crowed and couldn't find a seat one time. The piano bar is fun. Putt putt golf was ok. Steam room is good. Guys burgers are the best burgers. I enjoy the Mexican bar.The deli and pizza is good. The buffet can be over crowed and hard to find seats. On sailing days for breakfast you can eat eggs and steak in dinning room. The dinning room food has a nice selection.I wish there was more mango, papaya and star fruit. In Cozumel I highly recommend San Gervasco ruins Edward tour guide is Mayan and very knowledgeable and funny. You go to the same Ports on all of cruise lines and they have the same excursions. The Balcony is more affordable on Glory. The musical shows are good the first time you see them but they have the same exact shows 2 years latter. In Belize the boat ride I wish there were life jackets.I highly recommend river boat excursion seeing monkeys, iguanas, bats manatee noses and nice size Lauranal Mayan ruins was impressive. In the spa I paid in advance they recharged my credit card after service and added gratitude, this was a hassle because I had to stand in a long line for a long time to pay off balance carnival should fix this. As stated in the title, the Crew, Entertainment, and Activities were great! They sure know how to keep you busy, but we were not impressed with the shape the ship was in. Our cabin had dirt in the crevices, the gasket around the window was peeling off, the sink in our room wouldn't go down (this was fixed), our shower drained so slowly that the first night we flooded the floor in the bathroom (this was fixed as well). As for the rest of the ship, there were dents in the elevators, broken glass, broken doors, pictures barely hanging on. It just did not impress us. In fact, my husband said if this was the first cruise he ever went on, he'd never go on another cruise again. Also, they only had one side of the buffet open at a time for lunch and dinner. The BBQ and Taco place are only opened from Noon-2:30. They were two of the best places to eat on the ship. Now for the good things. The steak house was to die for. We walked away stuffed. The crew was great, like they normally are. William, our room attendant always went out of his way to acknowledge us and greet us with a smile. We played trivia, BINGO, and went to the comedy club and the nightly entertainment. The guys and gals in the Motown, Island Party and Epic Rock were outstanding. We had a blast going to those shows. A Western Caribbean cruise out of Miami which left Miami on its coldest day in 5 years - it should have been an indicator. We started with two days of cold, rainy and windy weather but that didn't stop us being entertained and having fun. We were unable to make our scheduled stop at Grand Cayman as it was unsafe for the tenders to take us to port - this was disappointing as we were really looking forward to visiting Hell. Unfortunately for Carnival, 20 sun loungers were lost over the edge of the ship. Once we'd passed through our bad weather things improved. Our stops at Roatan, Belize and Cozumel were lovely and the weather was gorgeous. It was certainly a cruise for Carnival to grab back some of our winnings - the coldest craps table on record must have been the award that week. Still, between Maria, Sushi, Ignatius, Brian and Simon and casino supervisor Errol, our dealers still provided great entertainment and service. I'll certainly be looking to re-run at least part of this itinerary so that I can go to Hell - and back again! Read Less

The Glory is a great ship! She's a perfect size and rides the water smoothly. Embarkation was quick as was disembarkation. Expect some elevator delays during embarkation/debarkation day as the crew use them for luggage simultaneously. We opted for the Everglades/FLL airport excursion and it worked out well for return to the airport. Dining was a bit of a problem this time, therefore, we will opt for anytime dining next cruise. Sometimes it is nice to mix up your table mates! Food was generally good. Buffet has a difficult time keeping selections hot. Burrito bowl at Blue Iguana is great, as is a burger from Guy's! This particular group of performers for the live shows were very good! The best I've seen/heard in the past 4 years..good job! Comedians were great, as usual. Must say that Mahogany Bay was a delightful port. The beach is lovely and proximity to shopping & restaurants is a plus. All in all, we would cruise on the Glory again! Read Less

This is our third cruise on this class of Carnival ship. We love the size, but navigation is always a challenge. We were excited about this cruise because we think Carnival is FUN! We were not disappointed. The entertainment suits us, couples in our 40s and 50s. Some of our group enjoyed the large shows in the theater, while others preferred the Trivia in the Lobby with dancing. We all enjoyed the comedians. The age mix was pretty balanced among all ages for this cruise. We also did NOT see the stereotypical things people complain about Carnival for. I won't go into those things, because it was not our experience here. Our room steward, Carole, and dining staff, Joel, Abby and Bryan, were top notch. They couldn't have been more professional or friendly. We had a balcony room, 8236. It is forward. It was exactly as I expected. The bed was heaven. Love a balcony. The only Carnival excursion we took was to the Everglades/Airport transfer. We would recommend it. FOOD! Guy's Burgers are wonderful. Everyone in our group raved about them. We ran the gamete from Serious Burger Lover, to me, Eh Take Them Or Leave Them. Eat one early in your cruise, because you will want to go back. We ate in the Main Dining Room every night and always had delicious food and a wonderful experience. My companions rated the Ox Tongue Superb. Really. My complaint is the smoking in the Casino. There are no doors between the Casino and the rest of the areas, so the other areas get very smoky. I think doors would solve that problem. Read Less

Frankly we chose the cruise for price and date. We are in our 60's and didn't know what to expect. We didn't really fit in with the drinking, gambling, all night party atmosphere, but there were things we did enjoy. They had some entertainment was to our liking. The food and restaurants were very good. We LOVED the all you can eat soft serve ice cream. We tried the hot tubs in the adult only section of the boat and they were disappointingly lukewarm. It was nice to have that adults only section with hammock, special seating without littles running around. We were very glad we had shore excursions to look forward to. We booked our excursions outside of Carnival and quickly learned that preferential treatment is giving to those who booked with them. Meaning, when it was time to get off the ship, those booked with Carnival got off first and in a different area. You had communication and a personal guide all the way through the process. And if you had an excursion with Carnival, the ship would not leave until you were back on the ship. If you did your own thing, there was a chance that you would be left if you didn't get back. I sailed on the Carnival Glory last week with my mom to celebrate the new year. Embarkation was a breeze. We arrived to the port of Miami at 11:45 and were on the ship by 12:10, even though our assigned check-in window was 12:30-1. We always wear our swimsuits onto the ship so that we can take advantage of a near-empty pool. They were handing out free champagne on the pool deck, I am assuming because it was a New Year's cruise. We went down to our stateroom at 1:30, which is the earliest you can get in, and our bags had already arrived. There was plenty to do onboard at all times- trivia, games, poolside entertainment, comedy shows, lobby parties, deck parties, movies at the pool, casino events, shopping giveaways, etc. Our cruise director, Dustin, was absolutely amazing. You could tell he loves his job and he was always laughing and having a good time. Now we did two shore excursions that I did not book through the cruiseline. One in Grand Cayman and one in Belize... the two ports that required tendering, of course. Now, if you booked through the ship, they made sure you were on an early enough tender to make it. If you did not book through the ship, you had to go to the Alchemy bar and get a number sticker to determine when you would be allowed off the ship. We got up super early in Grand Cayman and got number 2 (they generally let off 1-6 first) so we had no issue. In Belize, however, we were a little more relaxed and ended up with number 12. We've never been to Belize so we didn't know the tender ride was 20 minutes. 1-6 was called and I assumed we would be able to get off the ship next, but we waited 30 more minutes and still hadn't heard our number, and our excursion was leaving in 30 minutes. We went to Guest Services and told them what was going on and they put us in the priority tendering and we were off the ship within the next five minutes. We were still 20 minutes late to our excursion, but thankfully so was everyone else, so they waited for us. Moral of the story: Talk to guest services. They won't be mad you didn't book through the cruiseline. As far as the New Year's Eve festivities go, it was exactly what I expected. Around 2 o'clock on NYE, they began filling up balloons above the lobby. You could go up and put in your wish for 2019. At dinner, there was a special NYE menu and hats/noisemakers o the tables for you to take. They dropped the balloons at 11 PM and one lucky wish won a 3L bottle of champagne. There was a comedy show from 11:15-11:45, in between the balloon drop and the party on the lido. We did not attend. We were in the lido deck by 11:15 and it was already pretty packed. They started passing out the free champagne around 11:30, and they kept your glasses full until midnight. They also threw out hats, headbands, noisemakers, etc. The lido was lit up and the party was great. I highly recommend cruising into the New Year. As for Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan, it is evident that it is a private port. It feels more like Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort than the actual Caribbean. Also, you have to pay for the majority of the beach chairs, the sky chairs, etc. I have no desire to return. The food was good the majority of the time. I highly recommend the Sea Day Brunch and Tea time, which is a hidden gem. We also ate at the steakhouse, which is consistently a phenomenal experience. Our dessert was called Art at the Table and it was a unique experience. The ship itself is in need of some help. The exterior is very rusty, the walls of the elevators are peeling off, the carpet is run down. It was clean, but ugly. The shower in our stateroom was also falling apart, and did not get fixed until day 3. Read Less

We decided to choose this cruise because of the western itinerary, Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize and Cozumel. We have never been to Honduras or Belize and figured this would be a good opportunity to see those places . Two of the ports you had to take the water shuttle to the island, that was Grand Cayman and Belize. In Belize it was a 20 minute ride. The water taxi is ok but you spend time waiting to get on and off. The food in the main dining room was terrible. Food was over cooked. We ended up eating at the Emerald Steakhouse. That was an additional cost for us but at least we got a good meal. The pizza station and deli stations were good. I had a facial, massage and keratin hair treatment at the Spa. My husband had a facial, massage and acupuncture. Do not recommend. The fitness center is next to the spa. It was very noisy. Not relaxing at all!!! There were kids running all over the ship. I was disappointed that they cancelled so many excursions. They cancelled 3 of them on us. My daughter ordered glasses & a bag & never got them. For a Canadian it’s a little expensive between exchange rates & airfare & hotels so I won’t be going again as soon as I would like but will definitely consider another trip in the future. Even with our hiccups we had a pleasant trip. The ship had plenty of things to do and the staff was super friendly. Our cabin was always cleaned quickly & when we asked Pasa about opening a bottle for us, he had it opened & sitting in a bucket filled with ice by the time we got back to our room. The dining room's food was awesome & you could whatever you wanted and as many as you wanted. The entertainment group were fantastic! The shows were worth checking out. Over all service was awesome on the boat. The ports where nice to get off at but like I said earlier I was disappointed with how many excursions Carnival cancelled on us. I'm not sure I would book any excursions through them again, I would wait until I was at port to book. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of price, itinerary, time of year and past experience. The ship is easy to get around. There did not seem to be long lines anywhere. Getting on and off the ship was easy and I used Carnival transportation to the debarkation airport. It was easy and arrived plenty of time to catch my 12:30 Miami flight home. The Playlist performers were excellent - don't miss their shows. I enjoyed some of the bands around the ship. Don't waste your time going to the fun ashore fun abroad information event and the shopping show on the first day. Unless you like Price is right then go to the excursion information event. The shopping maps you get when you get off the ship at each port. The ports were Belize, Mahogany Bay, Caymans and Cozumel and all were awesome. The water shuttles were easy and well timed. The only negative was lack of communication on Carnival's part while we were waiting to get off in Cozumel. They were trying to do a good thing by bringing a ferry to the ship for those of us who had Carnival excursions but the weather did not cooperate. Instead of telling us what was going on all of a sudden they said follow us and they led us to the gangway without telling us we were to pick up the ferry in the port. Actually other than leading us to the gangway there was no further communication and if this would have been first time traveling I would have been lost. We had a bit of rocky weather coming home on last sea day. Dishes were sliding off the tables in dining room and waiters did an excellent job of trying to keep them on the tables. They added cloth napkins under plates to keep them from sliding. Maybe Carnival should think about bringing back tablecloths for ALL meals! Cruise director - only time saw him was his introductions to the performances and the shore excursion presentation. Could do without him. Not impressed. Read Less

Was pleasantly surprised with the amount of activities to do on board .. Ship was very clean ,Hotels should be as clean . Food was great I liked that there was a variety of food to choose from. The chef and his team did an amazing job. Really enjoyed the activities in the lobby . trivia games seemed to be enjoyed by all . Liked that they played movies on the Lido deck ,only thing I would suggest for that is maybe more recent movies . Liked the adult only deck . we had somewhere to go if we chose . Hot tubs could have been warmer . that is just my personal preference..as with anything else in life cruising is a choice .i believe you choose to have a good time .Or you set on the side lines Read Less

Timing - itinerary - price! My birthday is december 4th and this cruise was in perfect timing (1st_8th) and - although we had been on a western caribbean cruise before - we love belize and roatan, and we had never been to grand cayman. Finally, the price we paid for the cruise and excursions was truly an unbeatable deal! the onboard entertainment was very good and we really enjoyed the presentations (and antics) of dustin, the cruise director. our cabin stewards gemma and jeffry were always at the ready, and they knew our names from day one. the main dining staff (platinum) were great and always attentive to everyone's needs, both regular mealtime staff, and especially the seaday brunch staff. my only complaint for the entire cruise was that the public spaces (i.e. Main dining room, amber palace, and ebony cabaret) as well as our cabin was extremely cold for us florida seniors! other than that it was a very good cruise and we would sail on 'glory' again. Picked this cruise for the excursions and the fact I had been on the Glory before. I didn’t use the work-out facilities or go to shows. I just love to cruise and hang out on my balcony and watch the ocean. I LOVE the food, the staff, the excursions etc. Im never quite sure when I see others give a bad review. This is my 7th cruise and my 6th with Carnival. I have even had excursions cancelled (usually for weather) but for me, a day cruising is better than a day at work! So I would advise for people to research on their own and take reviews (even mine-good or bad) with a grain of salt. Good luck in your search. While I enjoy Carnival, Disney may be more fun for children. (I’ve been in Disney as well). In my opinion there is a cruise line for everyone. Enjoy! Read Less

I have been on several cruises with carnival in the past, and was expecting the same level of quality as my previous cruises. Boy was I in for a shock. For starters the ship was overrun with kids they were in the adult only section, stealing candy from the shop on the 5th floor, and running full speed into guests. I had dinner at the steakhouse and the quality of the meat was not worth the 38 per person that I had paid. On several occasions I was charged for excursions that I did not order. Every single time listed for activities on their hub started late. The only event that started early was the bag pickup that caused several guests on my floor to be unable to have their bags picked up for the disembarkation. I ordered room service which ended up taking over an hour to receive and causing me and my wife to miss the lip sync battle. My room was extremely hot for the duration of the cruise. The internet package is so slow as to be not functional. Read Less

So my hubby and I got married a week and a half ago and decided to celebrate while on the cruise. BIG MISTAKE! This is not our first cruise so we were excited to be embarking but not prepared for the day to day disappointment. We were sad to miss the formal dining due to getting our laundry back late. We requested for it to be pressed but when we finally received it it was crumpled in a bag all wrinkled. But of course they charged us for it. When we called to ask if they could iron it they told my husband, and I quote, "iron it yourself!" Since we missed the formal dining we decided to go see what they had in the buffet and literally everything was closed except the places that charged for food. We tried not to let that encounter sour our mood so we changed in to bathing suits and went up to the serenity deck where it's 21 and older, or so we thought. There were kids running all around the deck, laying in the hammocks, sitting in the hot tubs... it was ridiculous. We asked a crew member if they could tell the kids to go downstairs and the crew member just shrugged, laughed and walked away. We asked another crew member if they could get us a waiter so we could order drinks and they told us to go get it ourselves, they were busy. I understand it being Thanksgiving holiday week and children being on the ship but this was crazy. Kids running at full speed into people with canes. You couldn't walk anywhere without a child running into you or hitting you. You couldn't be in the casino without a child running around pressing everyone's buttons on the machines while you were literally playing. It was chaotic. All the while the employees just turned away and didn't do anything. We had various charges added to our account that we had to keep a watchful eye on every day. It all added up to over $300 of excursions that were for 3 people when it was only 2 of us in our cabin room. Why do they even bother to schedule anything if they are never on time???? Ugh I lost count of how many things we had to rearrange due to their lack of keeping time. There were only a handful of employees that were actually nice to people . Jess, Coco, JJ, and Milan were the ONLY ONES that were respectful. The rest of the crew needs retraining! Read Less

We wanted a relatively affordable cruise with a Caribbean itinerary to places we have not visited before. Carnival Glory delivered! For experienced Carnival travelers, you know what to expect: a medium sized ship (3000 passengers), jam packed activities, staff who will pamper you, the usual cruise fare to eat. The Glory is an older ship and, like many older ships, needs some refurbishments, but it was clean and familiar. Crew and staff goes out of its way to please you (shout out to Rolando in the Platinum Dining Room and his staff and Yuli and his assistant as our room steward). Food was okay - loved the Ports of Call menus at dinner. Deli and pizza are pretty good but service was slow, even at off peak times. Did not like the Old Fashioned Barbecue fare or desserts offered other than at dinner. Stage shows were entertaining; the comedians were so-so; Jorge was the best of the lot. Shopping is not a big deal on the ship compared to other cruise lines. Our balcony cabin (8336 mid ship) was spacious and comfy enough for 2 - had a mini fridge which was a pleasant surprise as not all Carnival ships include one. Some upholstery is looking its age but we were satisfied. Have not been to Caymans, Belize or Roatan before, so this cruise filled one of our goals. Pools are crowded and you have to contend with chair hogs although the Serenity Decks were surprisingly open and available, compared to other Carnival cruises. Room service was on time 4/5 days we ordered it in the morning. (the only time it was late was when we ordered it for 730-800am window,) We did not like the smoke belching from the Casino onto Deck 5 or elevators. Despite complaints, Carnival will not do anything about it. All in all, a lovely trip that we would like to do again. We booked our own excursions indepedent of the ship. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO SHIP TIME AND LOCAL PORT TIME. This was very frustrating for us.and other cruisers, especially when cell phones did not register time changes properly. getting on and off the ship was a snap. Watch out for passengers disembarking before their assigned timeas this caused a bit of delay in Miami Read Less

Been on the Glory previously. It's an older ship, but still a favorite of ours. EMBARKATION: Don't understand why VIP members are boarded only 2 minutes before general boarding begins. Not much of a perk , if you have to greet a mob on embarkation. CABIN: Balcony cabin on port side. Nice view of ports and the ocean. DINING: Lido generally good, don't expect 5 stars, let's call it APPLEBEE's PLUS. Still pretty good on lido, although the selections get fewer and fewer with each cruise. We really enjoyed the SEAFOOD SHACK, make sure you check it out...costs a few $$ but quality was good. GUYS BURGERS...always packed, and best burger around. TACO/BURRITO place also good, but crowded. PIZZA: always a favorite, not that crowded but good pizza. The DELI was really good, and had daily special sandwiches....pretty good crowd here..but worth the line. NOTE: Always annoyed at cruisers who INSIST on eating their way through the Lido Buffet line....seriously, can't you wait to sit down?.....eating food with fingers while moving through the grazing line is not only unsanitary but bad mannered. DO NOT take food with fingers off the serving trays....Saw one person take a roll, inspect it, then placed back in the tray....Oh my. DINING ROOM: Whew...where to start....Generally good. Not sure why I have to look at a cruiser in T shirt on Formal Night...Carnival seems to allow anyone in with any attire? Read Less

This was our first cruise, and our last. It was our honeymoon and we wanted everything to be perfect, but the last day left such a sour taste in our mouths. When we disembarked we had to go through different immigration channels as my wife is American and I am British. I am going through some green-card processing at the moment and I always get selected for secondary immigration which can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours. I was prepared for this, but not what happened to my wife. She got through immigration and left the cruise terminal building to wait outside for me. it was mid-day and very hot and humid - approx 85F. She texted me to check on progress and I was still in line. She was getting hot so she, and a few other people, moved into the shade by the terminal. A Carnival employee came over and told the group that they couldn't stay there, going as far as to say "you've had your cruise, now leave" For over an hour my wife had to sit in full sun with no access to water; when I finally got out she was in tears and clearly suffering from the heat. When I complained to Carnival their customer service rep gave a trite apology and said it wan't their policy to issue any kind of compensation in such cases. I asked for a copy of the policy and she refused. I asked for a transcript of our conversation, and she refused. I asked for a copy of my client incident notes, and she refused. When I escalated the call to a supervisor I advised him that I was recording the call. He said that it was against company policy to let clients record calls and if I didn't stop the recording he would terminate the call. I stopped recording but later learned that I was within my federal rights to record the conversation as long as I informed him. Strange that they are allowed to record calls but we aren't. When I asked him for a copy of Carnival's policy that states this, he refused. The cruise itself? Not that great. Too short a time on-shore; just enough time to have a quick look around, maybe an excursion, and then back on board. On a cruise lasting a week, subtracting time at sea and time spent in buses or taxis, I estimate we spent no more than 8 hours actually doing what we wanted to do, and 4 of those were at a beach club in Cozumel. We upgraded to the Steak House one night which was fine but not spectacular. We also did the Chef's Table which was entertaining but again the food wasn't worth the extra money. And don't get me started on $2.50 for a room service Coke even though we had bought the Cheers package! Cheers Package? Not worth it. I am a heavy drinker and never once reached the 15 drink daily limit. By the time you have queued to get on and off the ship and spent time in a port there aren't enough hours left to get value from the program, especially as we both had to pay for it (almost $900) and my wife didn't drink that much. A very expensive mistake compounded by terrible customer service; next year we will fly somewhere and enjoy the destination. Read Less
