After saving all the year, after a 9 hours flight from Argentina, we took the Carnival Glory Cruise hoping our experience would be the same as it was four years ago in the Carnival Imagination. Cabin was OK. Great Space. Bigger than in other cruise. On day 1, they informed us in an impersonal paper letter that we weren`t reaching Half Moon Key (stop nº1) due to Cold fronts "All right" we said, we have 3 stops more, weather is weather. Day 2 and day 3 were normal days at the sea, the food is one of the best things of a Carnival Cruise, the waiter team is really the best. Activities that were supposed to be fun, weren`t too fun but I have no regrets with this things. I had fun with the people I met. White Heat dance club is Ok. St. Thomas and Puerto Rico Stops were OK too. Excursions offered by Carnival were really expensive for us. We were able to get excursions in shore at the half of the price Carnival offered to us. In Puerto Rico port, people from a Royal Carribean cruise told us that they had been notified that they weren`t heading Grand Turk Island because they knew the port was closed. That surpirsed us. The thing was that, apparently we were heading to Grand Turk. So, when the day came, at a distance of 100 meters from the shore, being able to see what Grand Turk was about, they told us via speakers that we weren`t able to reach the last island due to strong winds... We were really sad and upset. My mum was crying really hard. This cruise meant too much for us, So, we went to the main lobby where the guest services desk is, and saw how a lot of people started to gathered complaining about the situation. We went there in order to have more information, ask if there were a B plan, maybe get a better answer from navigation staff...but nothing, the only thing we recieved from Carnival people was security people above us treating us as if we were animals, making a perimeter around us...we were only clapping because nobody was giving us a nice answer, as you should with people that paid for your services. Via speaker again, the captain apologized for not being able to deck at the port, and told us that the company was offering a 25% discount in a future cruise. That answer really made us angry, that refund forces us to give our money again to the same company and to make another long distance flight to have another cruise. Maybe it will work for people that live inside the States, but it does not work for a lot of people that had also paid and live fare away. After midday, as we didn`t have any nice answer or treat nor from navigation staff (nobody showed up except for security officers) nor from the company, we gathered again at 5.00 pm with at least 100 people that were angry with the situation. After and hour and a half, the captain (Massimo Roja) came down and had a meeting with us in a separated room. He explained us why he had done what he did, telling us that his priority number 1 is safety. Truly speaking, he was one of the only people who treated us well (in adition to Victor, a mexican from Guest Services desk) like humans, like customers that had paid for a service. An Italian man, I think he `s the second of the captain laughed at me due to my age. I am 23. We told the captain that most of us were looking foward to get a refund for the money we had spent in the cruise we took and no for a future one. Captain compromised himself to work as mediator in this request between the company and us. Last monday we recieved an e-mail from him and from Carnival CEO telling us that they will stand on the 25% refund for a future cruise. We can understand that mother nature is umpredictable. But what we cannot understand is they did not have a plan B (with Century XXI technology is really impossible to make a call to the future port and know how the wind is there? Do you need to be at least 100 meters from the coast to know the weather conditions?) We also cannot understand the treat we had, and how many staff people and security guards were laughing at us. If I hadn`t had such great dinners, such great treat from the dinning team (Joven was our main waiter), If I hadn`t met such amazing new friends from all over the world. this cruise would have been 0 stars out of 5. Also White Heat Club was OK. Dj Ice Cold did a great job. Read Less

The whole trip was amazing. Our room steward was great, the staff was friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Our wait staff (anytime dining) Ariel and team were GREAT!! they were wonderful with my 10 and 7 year old girls. We have one small snag when they sent us the wrong way on our first tender in Grand Cayman. - we missed our tour to the Dolphins. The excursion company was AMAZING and fit us in just the 4 of us with an trainer and Lucy the dolphin. They were wonderful. We were too late to get to 7 Mile Beach though. We addressed this with Shore Excursions when we got back to the ship and they discounted our excursion by 30%. We felt this was fair as we got to the dolphins which was the goal - and because of the wonderful people at DOLPHIN PUSH, PULL & SWIM WITH 7 MILE BEACH (can't remember the company name) fitting us in and actually giving us a "better" experience - we got what we came for. Eric the Cruise Director kept the fun going. We were on the ship for New Years which was a great time! We were on the 8th floor, which I thought might be noisy being close to the Lido Deck but once we were in the room we heard nothing. Carnival once again lived up to expectation for us and we had a wonderful time!!! Read Less

We love doing the Halloween cruises when possible. This was our 3rd Halloween cruise. We always dress up and join in the fun! We were on Deck 8 aft, which is our favorite spots. It was our 1st time on the Glory and we liked the ship. The service and food in the MDR was great. Room service was always a little slow. We liked most of the shows and loved the comedy club. Our room steward was really good. Our Cruise Critic Meet and Mingle was completely forgotten by Carnival, Some in our group went and complain about it. They made an announcement at 250, for the 300 meeting they scheduled at the last minute. We had no bar staff and very few people that showed up, andwe had over 130 signed up.It was supposed to be scheduled and put in the fun times. We loved Half Moon Cay, the sand is the softest I have ever been on. In San Juan we just rode the trolley and went to 1 of the forts we missed llast time. At Grand Turk we went to Jacks Shack. In St.Thomas we did an island tour. Read Less

If we had travelled on this cruise for 1 week it would probably have got a higher rating, as you will see from the review, but we travelled for 2 weeks, which caused problems. Initial embarkation was amazing. We arrived at around 2 pm and practically walked straight on. I’ve never boarded a ship so quickly. Our room was really lovely with a big balcony, as we were in an aft cabin. Unfortunately because it is a bigger balcony a sunlounger is put on the balcony, along with the normal 2 chairs and a table, and because of this there is hardly any room to move around. The cabin was extremely quiet, being at the back of the ship, and we hardly heard anything while we were in there. Our cabin steward was lovely. The quality of the food was so so, but this was made up for by the waiters. Our head waiter Aleksander was amazing and the other waiter Ledang was also extremely good. The drinks waiter, Bakti, was fantastic and always stopped to talk to us whenever he saw us. The food in the buffet restaurant was quite good, but there were always really long queues. Guys Burgers and the burrito and taco bar were excellent, with excellent service. Brunch on sea days was good, but exactly the same menu each time. Afternoon tea was advertised at the wrong time so we got there with only ¼ hour to spare, but the service there was awful, with one waitress muttering “whatever” under her breath to a Japanese lady who didn’t understand her! The entertainment in the theatre was OK, nothing special. The cruise Director, Mike, though was amazing and the shows he did in the foyer were fantastic. He would get people in the glass elevators to dance, which was so funny. The entertainment on deck on the sea days was also done by Mike and was extremely funny. Some of the comedians at the Punchliner were fantastic, although not all of them. The pool on the lido deck was quite small and tended to go a funny murky colour by mid afternoon. Everyone would just stand in it with their drinks so there was no way you could ever actually swim. The slide however was brilliant. Now for the bad bit. My husband had bought a lot of internet minutes for the 2 week cruise, only to find out that they are only valid for 1 week, as each week is classed as a separate cruise. With a lot of talking and arguing this was eventually sorted out on the last night of the 1st week and when we got back on the following day, but we could have done without the hassle. Also on the last night of the 1st week we asked for our daughters room to be attached to ours so that their gratuities etc came from our credit card (something that my husband had already done online, but which hadn’t gone through). When we tried to get off the ship in the middle of our 2 week cruise, when it was back in Miami, my daughter couldn’t get off as they said her bill hadn’t been settled. It then turned out that they had attached someone else’s room to our card, so presumably these other people hadn’t had to pay anything. This was eventually sorted out and we were able to go off to our excursion, being the last ones on the coach because of the delay. When we got back from the excursion we were told that because we were doing a back-to-back cruise we would get VIP boarding. Not so! It took us about 2 hours to eventually get back on the ship, after being told to go to about 3 different places and then having to join the normal queue. When we got to the desk the man we spoke to wasn’t sure what to do, but eventually got our new Sail and Sign cards for us. We then went to buy a soda package for our daughters. When my eldest went to use hers it wouldn’t let her use it. We had another trip to Guest Services where it turned out they had her card down as being used in the casino so she had the free drinks from there. Needless to say she hadn’t used the casino at all. Viktoria from Guest Services then had to escort us to the casino so that my daughter could be removed from their list. Thankfully that was all sorted and we settled in to enjoy the rest of the cruise, only to discover that all the entertainment and the menus were exactly the same as the 1st week. The entertainment was so similar that even the jokes were the same and the music that Mike played in the foyer was the same. The only thing that changed on the menu were the 2 local items from the ports. Fortunately the comedy club had different comedians and this saved our 2nd week, along with the films that were played at the Dive-In Movies, although we never saw any blankets as advertised. The ports of call were all really good and we thoroughly enjoyed each stop. Overall, we had a fantastic family holiday, but the problems we had in the middle of the cruise and the fact that the entertainment and menus were the same in the 2nd week as the 1st did make the ship itself a bit disappointing. I think you get what you pay for and for a cheap cruise I would recommend Carnival, but I wouldn’t recommend doing a 2 week cruise as we did. Read Less

Overall, very memorable experience. We would travel again with Carnival. Dining- There were so many varieties of food and the quality of food was good. We chose an assigned dining time and made some nice acquaintances. However, we wanted to switch to anytime dining because we were missing out on lots of evening activities due to dinner. It was not possible to switch to anytime dining. I really appreciated the servers remembering our names. We were also able to order as many plates as we wanted during the evening dinners. Service- The service was super fast! We called for a plumber and he was up to our cabin within 5 minutes! Most staff was friendly and smiled as we walked by. The room service cleaners were extremely prompt and cleaned our room at least 3 times daily. Entertainment- There were plenty of events to choose from. We missed a lot of evening events that looked interesting due to the assigned dinner dining time. We would rather have chosen the anytime dining option. The Mexican Fiesta party was really fun. We also enjoyed the Hasbro show and Dive In Movies. The art auction was also well done. I wish the Casino was a little more closed off due to the heavy smoke. We had to walk through the casino several times to get to other various events. Excursions- The tendering to and from the ports of Belize and Grand Cayman took far too long. We missed our entire day's excursion in Grand Cayman (which wasn't booked through Carnival) due to how slow the boats were moving. We also left from ports at least 30-60 minutes late most days. This was our fourth Carnival Cruise. Not sure if Carnival itself is going downhill or it was just the level of service on this specific ship. First some positives -- I really liked the ship itself. Not too big, not to small. The locations of the pools and hot tubs was also good -- some space between so they were not all crowded. The basketball courts were not overtaken by older teens and adults -- tweens and younger teens were able to get in and play. Burrito bar and Guys Burgers get two enthusiastic thumbs up. Three shows during our cruise -- one pretty standard cruise show, one I consider the best we have seen on a cruise, and one somewhere in between. I enjoy the entertainment -- some great singers and bands. Karaoke was great too. Also enjoyed the comedians. Now for the negatives I could not even tell you our room stewards name or what he looked like. I met him very briefly on the second day, my husband never met him. I did not think the dining team was all that friendly either. Drink orders were never taken the entire cruise while in the dining room. I was unimpressed by the menu options in the dining room. Run of the mill options, very few interesting choices. Dessert menu lacking. We did not get our sign and sail bill under our door the last morning, nor a receipt that was promised. Smoking restrictions were not enforced. Many of the best musical options were held right outside the casino where you could not escape the smell of smoke. No idea who the cruise director was. All in all I did enjoy myself, but the experience left me planning on another cruise line in the future due to service and dining room menu. Read Less
