The cabin was great except we only had one outlet. The ports of call were great and we had an amazing experience in Cozumel. Customer service was wonderful and everyone on staff was very nice. My friend and I ordered room service every night for two cups of hot tea. The only awkward part was there was a receipt every single time and the person who brought us our tea always seemed disappointed that I didn't leave a tip. The food was just disappointing. I ordered cheesecake three different times and they were all awful. The first thing that I did when I got off the boat was buy a slice of cheesecake! The Cantina and Guy's Burgers were also disappointing and the best food that my friend and I had was the different soups and salads that we made ourselves. If I ever cruise Carnival again it will be on a newer ship that hopefully has much better food. Read Less

My wife's family wanted to have a weekend together to celebrate 2 birthdays. There were 19 of us total. We had sailed on 8 prior Carnival cruises, 2 Royal Caribbean, and 1 Norwegian. The Fantasy was my first and looks to be my last as well. Started out fun with a smooth embarkation. First night was fun until we got to the dining room which was the late seating. With only 2 waiting on us and many other tables the service was terrible. Food courses were forgotten, food was cold, and it was impossible to find either waiter for beverage refills or any other help. Also no longer do you get a choice of breads. Now they just give you hard Cuban bread. The two fellas were awful nice but you could tell they were overwhelmed. This would happen all three nights. This was very disappointing to my wife and I as we always thought of all 3 big cruise lines Carnival had the best MDR food. I'm afraid to say no longer. Never saw my cabin attendant. Never happen before. Second day was in port. Breakfast in the lido buffet was terrible. Long lines, awful eggs, constant missing food like fruit was frustrating. Ended up with half a bagel and some canned peaches. After breakfast we got together to explore Nassau. They decided to do a drill during debarkation closing one of the gangways. Good timing Carnival. Otherwise we had fun, until dinner of course. Same problems. Cold soup, missing entrees, and no chance of refills. My favorite dessert melting chocolate cake was cold as well. Menu was bad as well. Got a cheeseburger. Still no Cabin attendant sighting. Band was good before dinner. Sea day. Same problems with breakfast so I got a breakfast burrito at the burrito bar. Was just ok. Staff was not very friendly. Common theme on the ship. Went to the sports bar in the rear of the ship to watch football. Now Carnival did a great job with this. They had every football game televised. Never seen this before. Had a great time. Got another cheeseburger from the burger joint. Good burgers. However no longer can you get all the sides you used to be able to get like macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets. No hot dogs either. Just burgers and fries. Dinner was the same. Nobody really wanted to go but the Lido buffet is so bad and we wanted to be with our family for dinner. Never once saw our cabin attendant. So strange. That has never happen. We are so broken hearted over the decline of Carnival. The last 3 cruises ranging for 7 day cruises to this one a 3 it's been the same this being the worse by far. We were on the Breese and Sensation as well. The Fantasy ship from the first time we sailed her in 1998 to now in 2016 has changed quite a bit. They have upgraded the decor but I have to say I miss the Vegas style promenade deck. The different rooms do look nice but the ship was often dirty and overcrowded. Carnival does not manage crowds well like RCC. We won't be back. Read Less

We felt we did not have enough to do on a sea day. If your not a sun worshiper, or drinker there wasn't much to do.We could have used some trivia and or a movie. Carnival No longer offers a midnight buffet, or high tea. Kinda sad as I was looking forward to those 2 things. But the cruise director was great, and the fun staff was very cool. I beg everyone to go on a FURY excursion, as it was the highlight of our trip. We chose the catamaran snorkel and beach day. AMAZING!! Over all, the boat was clean, seemed kept up, I saw staff hustling as always (remember to tip the fine folks) So many staff members stopped to talk to us, and made sure we were happy. I enjoyed my cruise, and wishing I was still there today. We have 2 new participation medals to add to our collection Read Less

We wanted a short and relaxing vacation, and got a good returner rate, as it was my second cruise. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was good, we missed the Mongolian Wok desperately as it provided fresh healthy meals to combat the very heavy fattening meals! Guy's Burger Joint was the highlight for everyone on the ship and the lines were very very long, so we went one day at a very late time for lunch. Very delicious!!! A few things we did: Art Auction: I always love going to these--not necessarily to buy anything, but the auctioneer is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about art, so you feel like you're in a 1 hour seminar to learn more about art. Additionally, I got free champagne and won a raffle for a free painting. If you do win a free piece of art, you will still need to pay $35 to get it shipped, but for the painting I got, it was definitely worth the $35. Punchline Comedy Club: Absolute highlight. We had Percy Crews II and Al Romero; Al was good, Percy brought down the house in a way that I have never seen. We were all literally laughing on the floors so hard. I would pay in a heartbeat to hear him perform again--Percy is truly talented. Get there 15-20 minutes early so you can get a seat. The last show of the night will be packed, so get there even earlier. Buffets: The buffets were good and standard--met my expectations. I would have liked more variety and options in the evening. They had chili dogs in the buffet one night as the only option, and then had the pizza line open, but as they were custom pizzas, the line was astronomical and I didn't want to wait 30 minutes for a pizza. More self-serve options would have been nice. Dining Hall: Normally a good experience, this was the dissapointment on our trip. On nights 1 and 2, our orders were incorrect, food not cooked properly, staffed too stressed and slammed to fill water, bring butter for the bread, get wine glasses, etc. What made it worse, however, is that there was no hello/goodbye with the service. Those of us who cruise know that it is the relationships we make with the staff that make us come again and again, and it was seriously lacking. We met with the restaurant manager to discuss all of our concerns, and he took them seriously and addressed issues with the staff. We noticed significant improvement in the quality of service nights 3 and 4, but there were still inconsistencies in the food. One example: we ordered a filet for brunch, and we wanted ours medium rare. They came back medium well. We asked to remake the filets and our waitress that night did not seem too thrilled and they brought out new steaks. Again, medium well. We did not send it back again, but when the manager came to us to check in, we did share that feedback. On night 4, we were given new steaks that were cooked to perfection with an apology. Overall, it seems that the quality in service has significantly declined in this area. Stateroom: We had an interesting experience--we did not know that the Fantasy was one of the oldest ships, so we noticed stains and residue on the walls and mirror, and asked if someone could come and reclean them. A knock at our door and it was not only our wonderful stateroom attendent, but his supervisor, the housekeeping manager, who was very authoritative, intimidating, and it left me with the feeling that our stateroom attendant was going to be in serious trouble by him. When we showed them the issues, the manager dismissed it and said that the residue was from old posters. Well, thank you for that information, but what are you going to do about it--it was gross and unsightly. When the manager finished defending everything, we said everything was ok and they left. The entire experience made us feel very uncomfortable, but also showed the age and care of the ship. Overall: We had a wonderful time--anyone will with Carnival! I will say that the one general area is overall service and attitudes of all staff. Not that it was bad, but again, on cruises, all staff are generally very happy to see you and provide outstanding customer service, and many of the staff in multiple areas seemed tired, not outgoing, or going that extra step. We stayed in the grand suite first time and loved it Our room steward Demi and staff was awesome.. We went to Key West and Cozumel. and love both. The weather was perfect not so hot we walked everywhere. We saw two shows did not get to the see the comedy act so much going on. The captain and Christine kept us up to date on what was going on with the HURRICANE. They advise us the port was closed and will not be pulling in until it was safe. They kept us on the ship on Friday until 2:30 and the staff was attentive.. Disembarkation was great we had our luggage with us off the ship in less than 15 minutes came in at terminal E and had to walk to terminal D it was fun since everyone had to walk. Read Less

Not to impressed with the Fantasy. I'm not a experienced cruiser but this ship is definitely showing her age. Stayed in an interior cabin and for the price it was better than expected. Room Steward always addressed us by name and room was always cleaned and and ready at all time Excellent job. Windows on the Sea buffet was average at best. Reminded my of basic school cafeteria food. We loved the burgers at the Guy's great and the pizza was pretty good . Celebration room did a great job at making us feel welcome and the food was spot on. My only complaint was there seems to be no enforcement of the dress code. Seen many tank tops and ball caps during dinner in the Celebration room. Too many people going in and out of the buffet wearing only bathing suits. Sign was posted but not enforced. Entertainment is geared for the younger crowds. Ships Pool area was to small and had the feel of a College spring break. Pool was overcrowded. They need an children only pool. Big slide area was to far away from pool and there were young children trying to squeeze into the pool with young adults who were partying. Getting off was a nightmare. We were delayed a few hours because the port was closed because of the storm. I fully understand that, but telling 2000 people that the quickest way off the ship was to bring their luggage with them was not a good idea. I seen to many people lugging large suitcases down the crowded stairway. Hopefully Carnival improves on this. Overall we had a good time Read Less

13 time Carnival cruiser, was disappointed on a few minor preference points, but still a typical, smaller ship Carnival cruise. Rain upon departure from Miami and again next day in Key West. It failed to dampen the festive mood of most my fellow cruisers, though. Cozumel weather was sunny, hot, & humid as Mexico usually is. Other than the rain, my disappointments were minor. As I like the 2.0 upgrades made to the Fantasy, those same upgrades took away one of my favorites- the Mongolian Wok. I was looking forward to it. Also, not ALL of the usual upgrades were present. Being the fleets smallest class of ship, space is at a premium, but missed the Red Frog Pub and Alchemy Bar. Some areas get little or no use and could easily be home those venues. Miami embarkation/debarkation was easy, but I did arrive very early and probably missed the rush. Same old musical shows, "Motor City" and "The Brits" both I've seen numerous times before- Carnival NEEDS to come up w/ new material! Comedy was hilarious and will always remain my favorite show. Of my 13 past cruises, this was my 5th going solo. I recommend this size ship for those looking to cruise solo. Size isn't overwhelming, the food and service are same fleetwide, and a variety of activities daily. Read Less

we choose this cruise based on the reviews of friends and family who have first hand experience with carnival fantasy. We didn't regret our decision. The overall experience was good. The entertainment on the cruise was very nice, one of the nights was motor city themed and the dancers were very good and energetic and got the crowd going. There was also a stand up comedian the last night and he was hilarious, even while remaining family oriented. The first day i got seasick and called room service and they gave me some tips for food that would help and also brought me some seasick pills very quickly. The food was good, the only thing i did not like were the drinks. The ice tea tasted horrible, it had almost no taste and the lemonade was way too sour. We went dining with our family one evening and the waiter was very nice, his name was Obinna. He was very friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted and he gave us suggestions about dessert (which he pronounced as 'desert', funny). What i liked most was that the staff sang to everyone whose birthday it was. We were not served by one waiter only, we had multiple and this we found nice. One would take our order and check in with us (obinna) and others would bring the food. As we have certain dietary restrictions we had some questions about the food which the staff answered directly. The waiter neon and assistant prudence cleared a lot of stuff up for us. These guys definitely made our stay a super great experience. The guy at the staff named myron was also great. These guys stay at sea for months and still manage to stay super friendly. Read Less

Did you explore your departure city before the your cruise? Yes we did! We took the Big Bus Tours of Miami and had great tour guides of all the routes! Enjoyed the Wynwood Walls, South Beach, Little Havana absolutely all of it! We got on and off the buses to walk and explore it was really a great way to see and enjoy the city. Did the embarkation and disembarkation go smoothly? I believe they should review the process and make serious changes to make this a smoother process. It was very confusing. What should others know: First let's be positive! The people (other cruisers) and the activities that we attended were FANTASTIC!!! Now, lets talk about the rest! Keep in mind this was a 3 day cruise. Service: The crew members on this cruise were horrific! The best interaction I had on this cruise with a crew member was being shown how to get to my room, gym, and pool area on the ship (I am blind). The worst? you ask?...standing directly in front of crew member with my cane and juice in one hand, balancing a tray with breakfast in the other hand. Asking the server if he could get me silverware (I forgot) he told "they are right over there" I told him I understand that but I have no more hands, he turned and walked in the other direction. Conversation closed. In between....1) luggage was lost after about 4 hours of trying to find out where's the luggage. Was told by the room steward that "sometimes the luggage is left by the service desk" Finally decided to go down and check the service desk ourselves and THERE sitting in the hall with a LARGE nametag is the luggage, we retrieved the luggage and returned to our room. 2) Returned to room to shower for dinner (Captains Dinner) to find we had no towels. After several request and waiting and missing the Captains Dinner - we finally received towels. We were changed to the 8:30 seating by then we were starving. 3) My roommate is a smoker...asked crewmember could you please empty the over-filled ashtray, he took the ashtray emptied it and did not return it. He kept going! She had to get up and retrieve the ashtray herself. 4) Asked several crewmembers for a glass of ice (IT WAS HOT) at least 3 different servers, neither returned with the ice I was told to order a drink, not a drinker - sorry - went the cafeteria to get it myself. I could continue but you get the point. Dining: The food on this ship was somewhat edible in most cases it was either undercooked or seriously overcooked! with exception of the Hamburger Joint which was terrific, but hamburgers everyday is just not practical. You will not starve, but you will not be satisfied either. Did you travel with children? No Would you go again? Absolutely! I love cruising! Would I take another Carnival Cruise? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Presentation and Representation matters. They blew it on both counts. I would not recommend Carnival Cruise to anyone. Read Less

We won a "free" cruise trip through a raffle and booked our first cruise with Carnival Fantasy to the Bahamas. Our trip set sail Friday and returned monday. Overall we had a good experience as first time cruisers. No sea sickness, great hospitality service of the staff of Carnival, plenty of activities to do. Only downfall was the comfort of the beds (but that's understandable since we are on a ship) and some of the patrons were young and rowdy. If Carnival has another trip/line that caters to an older crowd, it'd be a perfect 5/5. Overall though very pleased with our first cruise. Food was good and plenty of selection. The cabins were clean and more space than expected. Bahamas was wonderful and it was great that our trip included staying at the port over night so no worries about rushing back to the boat. I would definitely recommend. Read Less

Cons 1 Window sill crack and missing bolts holding window in. There was paint on the outside of the window. 2 Bathroom sink crack. Surprised it held water. 3 Stateroom A/C no thermostat only option was on (When it worked). 4 Shower warm and hot water only choices. Not fun with sunburn or when hot. 5 Sewage smell in stateroom and deck. 6 Construction/repair hammering very loud in stateroom at 930am for hours (I have video) calls to guest services yielded nothing. I guess sleeping in on a vacation isn’t permitted. 7 Kids running up and down halls late at night. Screaming and hitting walls and doors. NO ANSWER at guest services. Finally quieted down around 330 am. 8 Pool is a joke. Too small and appeared to look like human soup. 9 Final disembarkation was criminally negligent. Hundreds of people, with luggage, jammed into ONE small hall waiting to get off ship for hours. No A/C in hall. 10 A/C throughout ship and stateroom ship kept going off and on. 11 Wet slippery floors in buffet area due to condensation without a "slippery when wet" sign. Lawsuit waiting to happen. 12 Smoking allowed inside ship. Hard to breathe in casino area or any of the nightclubs Pros 1 Room steward Philip was exceptional as were the bartenders at Red Frog Bar. Excellent service!! 2 Food was pretty good and I enjoyed it too much! I see a diet for me because of this. 3 Embarkation was very smooth. Only 20 min from airport shuttle to stateroom. I’ve been on Royal Caribbean and NCL but this was my first Carnival cruise. I MAY give Carnival a second chance but I will never set foot on Fantasy ever again (That goes for any ships older than 10). Read Less

As a first time cruiser, I had an amazing time. Embarkation was smooth and easy. Registering online helped a lot. There was a lot of traffic in the Port of Miami, but not many signs giving you directions, so plan to loop in a few circles. The food was great. The buffet breakfast and lunch was great. There was also the opportunity to make your own burrito. The last dinner night, the options were not too different and some of our food was overcooked. The apple pie was not good. Tasted like old apples and parts of it was not even warm. There was only one pool on the boat, very disappointing. The pool was the size of a small bedroom literally comfortable for about 12 people to be in. Because the pools were always overcrowded I took advantage of the mini water slides. Although it was mostly children that went down, it was still fun( and I am 25 yrs old). This was our first experience and it was perfect. The service is outstanding. Thanks to Mary from the Guest Service, Claudia from the Room Service and Dewi from the housekeeping service. We went to Nassau, Bahamas and to Half Moon Cay( These is so beautiful I can't explain). As a part of the excursions we went to Private Island. The cabin is cozy . The dining is delicious, we liked better the Lido Buffet, but the dining room is delicious also. We enjoyed the captain's night. The dining was extremely amazing and the service is awesome and the buffet is good as well, a lot of diversity. Also the burger station near the pool was great. The water park even though is small is a lot of fun. In general thanks to the whole crew of the ship for a wonderful experience. I chose this cruise because of the price during the time of booking and becasue of the water slides which I knew my 6 year old would enjoy . Cons: It is a small ship outdated. The pool is very tiny and over crowded, its salt water and looked disgustedly murky . I was surprised this was the only pool there is not even a kiddie pool at all ! The entertainment was dull, wish they would invest more on the entertainment portion and the animation team. It took about 3 hours to get the luggage, it was the first time on a cruise for me, so next time I will just take it with me in embarkation. Demarkation was a little chaotic at first, but we were out of the ship by 9:45 AM. PROS : The staff was very friendly and helpful. the room was cleaned, and the buffet food was average. The alcoholic beverages were priced decently. Half moon cay was beautiful and calm, would definitely like to go back again, its a very kid friendly Island with a mini water park with fun slides.. Camp carnival is a PLUS for kids ages 2 and up. TIP: DO NOT TAKE the water ferry ride in the Bahamas to go to Cable Beach , it is very far from where the ferry drops to off !, take a taxi instead and you don't have to walk. I would cruise with Carnival again, but NOT on the Fantasy. Read Less

After reading some negative reviews of Carnival, I wasn't sure what to expect. I would have to nit pick to find fault with them. The service was great. The food was excellent. There were times that I observed guests asking for things out of the ordinary where I thought the staff could have had an attitude, but they didn't. The Fantasy may be an older ship, but there wasn't anything wrong with our room or other areas. Would definitely cruise with Carnival again. We didn't do any shows because we were babysitting our grandkids while their parents attended the comedy shows. They said they were very good. It was raining in Nassau the day we were there, so we didn't shop that much. We did snorkel some on Junanoo Beach and that was nice, but not great. The room was always clean. It would have been nice to have internet included (or even an intranet). If not, it would be nice to have a better way of communicating with friends. A weekend cruise out of Miami is not exactly known as the best type of cruising, especially on an older ship like the Fantasy, but given the price and the fun/relaxation I had it was well worth it. The Fantasy shows its age, but at the same time it reminds me of being a kid and taking cruises in the 1990s and early 2000s. You feel like you are on a boat, its not just some massive hotel and shopping mall. I enjoyed the nostalgia the ship had to offer from the dinner room to the neon lights. Also, given the type of cruise and cost we knew service would not be great, and honestly, it was not. Dinner service at the anytime restaurant was rushed much of the time, and inattentive. The waiters are not terrible, but they are not great either. Just ok. The food, was good. I typically enjoyed the appetizers more than the main courses. Lunch food and breakfast food was also good, especially the burgers, they really hit something there with the burgers, they are really really good. The water slide was actually pretty fun, along with the typical shuffle board and small mini-putt-putt course. The pool is small, 1990s small, and on a hot day at sea no where near as large as it needs to be. The casino is good as well. I did not see any of the shows, but other entertainment options were good along with the comedy shows. Nassau as a port of call is an easy port to see and handle. My best suggestion is to wake up early and walk around downtown a little then take the ferry to Paradise Island and check out the beach. Its a great beach with great water. The Atlantis Package is very very expensive and not worth it IMO for the cost. Though you could always walk around the public areas of Atlantis such as the Casino. In general, if you are an experienced cruiser you should know what the type of crowd and cruise a weekend Miami cruise on an older ship gets you. Its more of a party atmosphere, lots of young people, lots of locals along with many first time cruisers testing the waters. Service is not top notch from the top down, but it was not terrible. Just understand this is not a 7 night Europe cruise or a Celebrity ship, or a monster ship with 20 shops, 10 bars, and two stages. The Fantasy is for someone that wants to know they are on a ship, and enjoy the simple things in cruising. I had an interior cabin, it was simple, but comfortable. Read Less

Carnival Fantasy- 4 night to Key West and Cozumel This ship is OLD and LACKS many of the amenities most of the new ships offer. We were a family of 4 with two kids ages 11 and 17. Activities: There was not enough to do for older kids (11-17). The Kids Club was not even considered by my kids as there were no planned activities that caught their attention. There were not enough family activities or shows to attend on the ship. On the day that the ship was in Cozumel until 10pm, there was absolutely NOTHING to do at night in the ship. Considering that most people came back to the ship around 6-7 pm and went to dinner shortly there after, there was absolutely NOTHING to do for after dinner and the reminder of the evening. The only show offered was a rated R couples' game at 10pm, which was not an option for my family. Most people were walking around aimlessly bored out of their mind!!!. The only pool was always over-crowed. The water slides looked nice and fun for the younger kids. The only activities available for my kids were ping pong and mini golf. It would have been great if there was a basket ball court on the ship.... We enjoyed the comedy shows with Percy Crews II and Jorge Solano offered on two different nights and the Bingo game. Aside from these, we really didn't have much to do ! We definitely wished Carnival had focused more on entertainment. Food- the food on the ship was overall of mediocre quality. There was only one main restaurant option and the second option was the restaurant that offered basically the same exact food as the main restaurant, but buffet style. The buffet style restaurant also offered omelettes, pizza, burgers, sandwiches and ice cream. My family enjoyed the pizza, burgers, omelettes and ice creams. We had dinner at the main restaurant every night and were disappointed with our meals every single night. The menu was not kid friendly. Aside from the items on the menu, the kids' options were chicken nuggets, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich, or hot dog. The crew members were nice and friendly. Our room attendant was extremely friendly and it was a treat to find our beds made every time we came back to our room. Shore excursions: Key west: HIGHLY RECOMMEND the shark and dolphin experience. We bought this excursion off the boat by the port side. Price was $75 for adults and $40 kids 16 and under. We went on a boat for about 2 hours and saw some hungry sharks and playful Dolphins. Captain and his son were very knowledgeable and friendly. They knew exactly where to go as the Sharks are already conditioned to get fed by them at certain times of the day when they do the excursions. This Experience was very nice and it was the perfect way to spend our time in the Keys. Well worth our money!! Cozumel: we went on the all inclusive beach experience. It was a nice time overall. Tour guides were very friendly. Took us snorkeling and saw cute sea lion show. Beach was not really a beach. It was a small lagoon. Food offered was "ok". Overall experience there was enjoyable. If you are looking for a nice beach, you should probably take the "Deluxe" beach excursion which would probably offers a better beach. We enjoyed our family time together, but we will definitely NOT take Carnival Fantasy again. We will probably cruise with a different cruise ship line other than Carnival as the Carnival "fun ships" seem to attract the younger and lower-class crowds. Read Less

The name of this line should be Carnival used to be. All the fun they make people believe they are going to experience is just like this ship, a fantasy. They provided almost no entertainment at all. The staff members were disinformed as to what activities were being offered. The DJ in the pool was just a music pleaser of those who were his favorites. He has no DJ skills to entertain costumers avid for fun. The few activities offered were participation entertainment directed by unprofessional crew members. The music offered responded to the taste of a group, and it had no variety. We were bored most of the time. The crew should reinforce cruising ethics, People have no respect for others who enjoy cruising with elegance. The food was terrible especially in the buffet, no variety at all. The service offered by cabin attendants and waiters was excellent though. The room was always clean and the stewards very nice and helpful. We felt that the only thing Carnival line wants to do is to make money at all costs, not to make passengers feel comfortable. They even sold T-shirts to raise money for Saint Jude hospital. The shirts read Saint Jude and Carnival, so they are using the passenger's money to exalt their name. In my opinion that is using people's feelings and money. The time allowed to visit in Key West was really short to do any fun activity there. If I compare this trip to my first one in Carnival, I could say that the line is unfortunately decaying, especially regarding food and entertainment. I have taken 4 cruises and this one was the worst. No more Carnival for me and my family. Read Less

I have been on the fantasy 4 times prior to this cruise we took july 4th. I knew the ship, knew the acitvities, etc, and we liked the ship, always cruising on carnival. Until now. Just got back this weekend. Wow. This cruise stunk. I am not sure what happened, maybe it changed hands, maybe they got new cooks, new food, etc but it was awful. Ill begin and end with just the meat of it. 1. Kids camp closed till 9pm first night. You could take your kids for the pay by the hour. Really??? 2. Food. Horrible. Horrible. Did i say horrible?????? Menus every night horrid. One night the choices were "fried chicken, tofu steak, ". I couldnt believe it. This was in the dining room. The food was so bad, we walked out 2 nights. The only thing consistently good was the chocolate melting cake!!! We had to order room service 3 nights out of the 4 and order peanut butter jelly becayse we were starving. 3. Overcrowded. Kids galore in the adult hot tubs, the pool was like 300 people to a 20 person sized pool. You couldnt even move. 4. Smell. What was that stench on the 5th deck?? Sewage? 5. Staff; lookout for the assistant cruise director, especially if you play bingo !!! Crooked rules. The cruise director was the only nice person we encountered. 6. Attitude: everyone seemned overworked, unhappy, and not friendly on the ship. We wont be going on fantasy anymore. It used to be our favorite, but no more. We should have read the reviews the past year and believed it..... Read Less

I have been on many of Carnivale's ships on different cruises but this ship just doesn't cut it. There was one poorly powered outlet in our ENTIRE stateroom including the restroom. We didn't bring a hairdryer expecting one there and there wasn't. We called the room steward and one was left for us. When my wife used it, the breaker was tripped requiring a call for service on it. The room was much smaller than the other staterooms on other Carnivale's ships, and ours was an upgrade with a window. The beds felt old and worn. There was a unusual urine smell that emanated inside the bathroom that seems from improper ventilation or plumbing? We just couldn't figure it out. The food was adequate. We've had much better food on previous cruises. It just seemed that many of the main food selections weren't as warm as they should've been on both the Lido or formal dining hall. The only plus I can say is that the new Guy burger section was great! This was also the 1st Carnivale's ship that I've been on that didn't have a sushi bar. The pool was also vastly undersized for the amount of people. Not something I would've noted on other ships. On our 2 port stops of Key West on Cozumel there were 2 different Carnivale ships and the Fantasy looked old when compared to them. The excellent service by the entire staff I felt did not match the quality of the dinosaur they were working on. I will never book a cruise on this ship again. Read Less
